hey, i have a question for ALL you tuba experts ;) Im 12 and im a girl, i play the trumpet, but my band teacher just asked me to play the tuba since there's only 3 tubas in our school band, and our band is pretty good sized!!! But im pretty sure im going to play the 3 valve, i dunno what 'tune' it is though. i was wondering if i should play it.and i really wanna get away from the trumpet. Im tall, and stocky, and strong (not commen traits together) Any good places to get mouthpiece cheap? thanx

@ohanamaggie The are the same no matter the tune of your tuba. Tuba are never transposing so the parts are always the same whenever it's a Bb/F/C/Eb tuba

@MrMonkeylaugh Lots of practice. Lol. Serious. I put in way too much on tuba. Get yourself a few months of private lessons. It takes a lot of focus. Tone being the most important part.

@NotSoNewJesus practice memorizing pitches to determine key. If you can sing a C or Bb from memory, u will develop relative pitch. I knew the FG theme was in Bb first time I heard it. Plus if you can memorize a C or a Bb, then you got the overtones (major 3rds and 5ths, 8va, 8vb, etc.) and from there you can generate the whole scale + the rel min. and you got all 12! Takes practice, but worth it if you want to start transcribing. Speeds u up ALOT. Or just use the sing fxn on yer tuner.
