  • Mm-mmmm! That's some good stuff, cher!

  • man i miss that southern cooking!!

  • This was awesome! Can't wait to try it!

  • Beryl, I made this the other night and my family LOVED it!! My only question is... is your andoille sausage fully cooked? I can't find fresh, just fully cooked!

  • Wow, I am so going to make this dish! I'm quite sure though I won't find that sausage in Minnesota...

  • Lawd jesus I wish I could reach through this computer.

  • Dear Miss Frenchie...I enjoyed your video...but, just so y'all know...many cajun spices have Monosodium Glutamate....if it says Citric Acid, Hydrolized Protein, Flavourings, Spices (non discript) or even says Natural Flavorings...all of that stuff is suspect....so, it makes me laugh about the sausages not having nitrates or whatever....but, I wanna wish you Happy Mardi Gras!

  • Miss Frenchie....If you freeze those adouiile sausages first...and then cut them into slices...You'll get yourself some nice pieces of sausages for your Red Beans and Rice....Y'all!

  • ok,thanks!

  • i have savioe's audoille sausage... Is that ok? What makes the juices thick?

  • @kammese Yes, that would be a great sausage for your red beans. Mash up a few of the beans, about a couple of tablespoons full, and stir them in, that will usually thicken your gravy.

  • Do you eat your red beans and rice with corn bread, corn cake or rolls? I love corn bread or corn cakes with my beans.

  • @KentuckyRebels Cornbread is awesome with red beans and rice, and the traditional side.

  • 1st time I had RB&R was in Loisiana

    in 2009. I feel in love w/it.

We need real southern folks like Ms. Beryl

to come out to California & open up

a little Cajun restaurant serving RB&R.

You Rock Beryl - GBU !

  • You put parsley in the sweating stage with the trinity? And then you drained all of the flavored grease from the sausage? Leave that in the pan!! This is sort of a fail..I bet it tasted OK, but it could be way better. I understand crockpots and such it changes methods a little, but your way loses too much flavor, I can tell.

  • Making this for dinner tonight. I have everything cooking and it will be ready to serve at 6pm. It already smells delicious in my house. Thank you for the great recipe.

  • gonna try this.

  • Great job...Thank you.........Craig

  • I started cooking my beans at 10am, then cooked 2 Louisiana hot links, fryed the (3 holy trinity) in link juices. Added Parsley, trio, sausage & minced galic to beans. Cooked on high for 5 more hours.

IT WAS GREAT!!!! even with me forgetting the Bay leaf... tisk tisk tisk. I enjoyed it.

  • What ever!! This girl can cook!!!

  • The holy trinity is: bell pepper, celery, and onion. NOT garlic. Hence, trinity. come on

  • Whoa...that looks glorious, ummm!

Good work lady! I might I have to try your recipe. I love red beans and rice!

  • does it really takes 6 hours ?

  • I think most people probably don't cook them that long. As long as they are tender enough for you, they're good to go. Thanks for watching!

  • I wouldn't mind having you cook for me :)

  • Thanks! And thanks for watching.

  • Yep, they're um-um good!

  • I always make my beans in the crock pot, and I wouldn't cook them any other way!! But, what is a camilelia bean? Can i buy them in Chicago? Great video!!

  • Camelia is a brand. I don't know how widely they're distibuted. Maybe check your Wal-Mart superstore grocery. Thanks for watching!

  • Lord knows u can't make good red beans without camilia bean...im from the coast originally ( Pass Christian) and i come home about twice a year...and load up on camillias ...the don't have them here...

  • Yes indeed, Camelia beans are the best! I didn't know they weren't distributed nationwide. Thanks for the info, and thanks for watching our videos!

  • Yes, they do.

You can also make this with white beans (great northern)... Same recipe and everthing, rice optional with the white beans, but traditional with red beans.

The red beans are often the main course here in Louisiana, while the white beans are often a side dish to jambalaya.

In fact, we had white beans for supper tonight!

  • Do the beans really get soft in the slow cooker? If so, I'm on board! Love this beautiful recipe! Such a homey, yet delicious looking dish.

  • Looks Delicious !! I cant wait to try Your Recipe !! I love to use my crockpot(slow cooker) on my days off from work. I have had this many times . Now I can make it at Home !! Thank You !!

  • Thanks for your comment! This is an easy but really great-tasting dish. We're actually making white beans today. It's the same recipe, just using white beans instead for a different taste. We'll be posting that video and recipe too.

    Thanks for watching!

  • now that there looks like heaven on a plate,

  • Thanks for watching our video!

  • thank you for shareing this! I am going to go to the store to get he stuff to make it! looks great!

  • Thank you! Please let me know how it comes out.

  • wow that looks good. the only thing that might make it better would be some corn bread.

  • Yes indeed, It does need some cornbread!

  • Thank you very much for your very kind comments! And thanks for watching!

  • I have to say you are an authentic, Cajun lady. You know the art of making red beans and rice. Thank you for including the "Holy Trinity". Most people do not even know about those ingredients. I have to explain to them that without the "Holy Trinity", it is senseless to even have a finished product. Once the red beans are finished, it is scrumptious along with garlic French bread, and red wine. Now, mon cherie, I can honestly say is the perfect meal. Thank you ever so much for posting.

  • looks great!

  • Thanks! It is really good and really easy to make too.

    Thanks for watching!
