Your point is legitimate, but I have to mention, if you put the Legion up beside another band any year they will more than likely outplay and outcrank that band.
It's just that people have seen them in thier prime that they only compare them to themselves now.
"The legion this performace outplayed the legion that performance."
It's easier to outplay the next band that to outplay yourselves, esp. after Honda 2007.
Yeah I heard a few clips of old school legion. Pretty good. But crush this one. I think not. definetly not in power. Yes on dance routines. They also had better music to choose from.
I am with you boneplayer!!! I am one of the founding fathers of Trom Phi Bone (LMAO I still remember when we made that up in the 3rd floor practice room freshman year)They sound good but the Legion of old was cleaner and clearer than today's Legion. Mr. Feara and Mr. Walker would not have it any other way. If you don't believe me, go to tape.
I have to agree with ya there. I was at ECSU and the old NSU band sound would crush this one. Still sounds good but in the mid 90's NSU sound was damn near like buying the CD.
It's takes a true band with talent to show up and the 100's homecoming. Hate them or love FAMU, they're large enough and talented to always be a force to be reckoned with. NSU is one of the most musically talented bands out there--a real class act.
Man if you ever hear NSU in person they could be on the field and they sound like they are directly in your ear, and there sound is the best band sound I've ever heard
starting at 7:15 look at the dancer on the back row, to the left of the 50 (looking at the pc left, she was actually on the right of the 50 on the field) she fucked up the end real bad...pay close attention!

On another level...check the sax/trombone melody in Forever my Lady. just nasty.

I wish that the Legion had brought this tune (Forever My Lady to Honda in 2008 as the ballad. Crowd would've got more behind it, than Beauty, IMHO.

This is the same drill they did at Honda 07...they sound like a totally different band at Honda though.

When will JMU ever play NSU? Two completely different styles... both badass bands. I've never been let down by a NSU show!

Can't nobody touch the Legion, not the Horns, Spartan Guards, Silks, Hot Ice, Drum Majors, the line, none of it... "THE" Alma Mater
