interesting. a christian who is able to study the bible for himsefl without the radical embellishment of later theologies orally introduced. all the fire and brimstone plagues the teachings of jesus. he was a figure against authority of this world and establishment that holds power over others and keeps them destitute and poor. after bridging the gap why would he then take an ax to one side? good luck getting mainstream christians to see this for themselves.
The Bible does not teach eternal punishment. God's love & mercy endures forever. Does it really endure forever or only in this life? How can it be Good News if it doesn't translate to the afterlife?
1 Timothy 4:10- This is why we work hard and continue to struggle, for our hope is in the living God, who is the Savior of all people and particularly of all believers.
@PropheticVindicator The wages of sin are death, not torment. When we die, we return to dust. The dead are conscious of nothing. Sure the Bible teaches of everlasting punishment, which does exist but that punishment is death that last forever. There is no torment involved.
@PropheticVindicator How can you claim that he doesn't love God? Do you know his thoughts and feelings? Just because he has different beliefs than you, you think he's some horrible Satan-worshiper. I'm sure you love God. You're just misguided.
@SuperPais Geeez, the concept of a place of everlasting punishment is not in the original Hebrew and Greek, it's been ADDED into SOME English Bible translations. GEEEEEEEZZZZZZZ. God is love, Love never fails, nothing is impossible with love. That's what is say in Greek and English but you don't believe it do you? Unbelief, the greatest Christian sin.
@6996109 The lie is that Jesus is NOT the savior of the whole world, that is the lie. The truth is "And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw (drag in Greek) all mankind unto myself." John 12:32
@6996109 "And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw (drag in Greek) all mankind to Myself." John 12:32. Some call that a lie, some have been given faith to believe in God's greatest promises. Obviously, you haven't.
all religions have one thing in common , they all pray to an invisible and inaudible god and yet claim to know his mind , what he thinks and what he feels and what punishment he likes to dish out..as for a creator of the universe , of course its possible , but a biblical god , a genocidal , racist who makes women feel pain during child birth , kills countless men women and babies with a flood , please , grow up..the bible is an insult to any creator if one even exists.
@grumpyguts1967 Well, I can sure see why you have "grumpyguts," I had them too when I was an atheist, but them my creator and yours, decided to open my eyes and heart and also threw in some understanding of the Bible that made sense. I hope some day real soon, you get healed of gutrot so that "out of your belly will flow rivers of living waters." Oh, I know that doesn't make any sense to you right now, but one day it will. Til then, peace....
@grumpyguts1967 i think i know where you're coming from. you don't feel that the behaviors of those people in the bible warranted the punishment they received. am i right?
@ghostdancer1984 you could put it that way , or i could go a little further , a god of the bible , an abrahamic god , a christian god , or any god for that matter , is not worthy of human praise or worship , religious folk talk about humans not matching gods standards , well , i say he doesnt match mine , i dont condone genocide , human sacrifice , slavery , the list goes on .
@grumpyguts1967 i think that's the point of the bible though. that our behavior is not good enough for the hebrew god. he has stern punishment for it. i think most people don't feel that theft, adultery, murder, lying, cheating, etc.., are crimes worthy of death. however, if you think of god has an actual entity, non-personal, that watches what he has made with scrutiny, and is perfecting it, it makes more sense. it's like a gardener pruning a plant. does the leaf really deserve to die?
@PropheticVindicator Sorry, my friend, but I've already been redeemed by the Savior of the world, you can't scare me with those devilish threats preachers use to keep people in bondage to them anymore. I'm free from condemnation, so you'll have to find some other sucker to scare, false propheticvindicator. The only thing you do is spread fear. Perfect love casts out fear, especially your kind of religious based fear.
Just to make one more point if I may. The second death (eternal, also meaning "final", not continual" will take place after the 1000 year reign. Wear those whose name are not found in book of Life Rev. 20:11-15. Will be cast into the lake of fire. But I dont believe they will be burning forever in ever. But they will be cast into outer darkness. Forever seperated from the Father and Son, which they chose to reject. But the eternal torment part? Not scriptural within context.
@speekez616 VERY confusing. First, you say they go to the lake of fire to be burned, but not forever. Then they get cast into outer darkness to be eternally separated from God? This god is a failure to be sure! But this God knows what He is doing: 1 Tim. 4:9-11
Also on the other note, Hitler if he was practicing "annihilationism" = Genocide/ Racial Cleansing, (hope I spelled that right) Would this still be that man is trying to play God? When God himself said that he will cleanse the world of "UNGodly"(his standard) unrighteousness. Of course we are not God so we definitely should not be trying to accomplish what God said he will do. Once again small bit of truth and revelation by God+ extreme views unaccording to God's word = Branch Dividian.
Point being, I have that liberty in Christ to do so, and as long as things do not misallign with the Word of God, I believe there things to learn with fellowshipping with brothers and sisters in Christ in different denominations (except the pagan based ones, ie. Catholicism, Mormonism, Jehova False Witnesses, not lining with God's Word etc.). One denomination does not have the one stop shop of scriptural interpretation.
I believe that there are scripturally sound teachings in each Christian denomination (Ie, Baptist, Protestant, Pentacostal, etc. all brethern regardless of expected human doctrinal error . I dont hold myself to any. But I do observe their teachings to see where it lines up with the Word of God. Do agree with every denominations teachings? No, but I do take the truth revealed to them by scripture and apply these to my individual walk with the Lord
Well no I'm not 7th day adventist (Nor do I fully understand or agree with their doctrines, via E.G.W). But I think in this aspect of what the bible teaches about hell and the prior translations has placed a large amount of scriptural validity concerning the matter. Needless to say, I believe each body of Christ (denomination) has taken a part in truth of scriptural interpretation. But once again I also believe one church expounds on that truth revealed by God and can take to the extreme
@speekez616 I see you are a Seventh Day Adventist and teach annihilation. Hitler taught and practiced annihilation of what he thought was wicked. I think there is a better way found in the Bible, that is, the salvation of all mankind through Jesus Christ. In Adam all were condemned to death, even so, in Christ shall all be reckoned righteous. The Life of Christ is a free gift to all mankind. THAT should bring joy to hearts of compassion.
How could a loving, wise, just God create an "eternal hell" yet never once mention its creation and purpose to any of his prophets or apostles? How could a loving, wise, just God cause or allow billions of people to suffer for all eternity when they died knowing nothing about the Bible, Jesus or "hell"? Why would God save "the chosen few" by grace, but deny any chance of grace to billions of people who never heard of Jesus?
@tentmaker777, I pray about this every day, so that children can be freed from the terror and brainwashing of a hell that was never mentioned in the entire Old Testament, or in the book of Acts, the history of the early Christian church. If there is no hell, Christians have been blaspheming the names of God and Jesus for nearly 2,000 years. But the real victims are young, innocent, highly impressionable children who are frightened out of their wits.
@MikeRBurch Cool read the page of the site. Glad to here there is no place of eternal torment. I found it difficult to believe such a place could exist that was suppose to be created by a loving God never made any sense to me and I could never accept it. I knew there was another answer and I'm glad to have found sites that is telling the truth. It also feels like the truth A loving compassionate God who will save all.Perfect. Thanks for the site
I read the Bible from cover to cover as a young boy. When I read the Bible and understood what it actually says, I feel into deep despair. I would lie in bed weeping that God and Jesus could be so cruel.
Fortunately, I went back, studied the Bible and came to the conclusion that there was no reason to believe in an "eternal hell." If anyone is interested, my conclusions can be read here (just remove the spaces):
@MikeRBurch arrrr poor you. Glad you found the truth that God is a loving God and would not put people in hell. I'm interested so will check it out Thanks.
@ZeusHelios, after having studied the Bible for many years, I see no reason to believe in "hell." I think it was just added to the Bible at a very late date because it allowed evil men to make money and control other people's behavior. Obviously this world will be a better place if we have compassion for other people and establish social justice, as Jesus, Paul and the Hebrew prophets suggested. We should try to help people and not harm them unjustly. To me that is the message of the Bible.
There is no definition of "hell." The base word is "Ghehenna" "hell or hell-fire" is anciently derived from the non-stop fires of the garbage pits. Someone reasoned that if there is a good place after death then there must be a bad place. Jesus effectively described "hell" as a state of the supreme ignorance of heavenliness and that understanding him would destroy the reverse or animal nature that is identified with this turning away from heavenliness or the Godly state of immortal being.
@phaxad I like the KJV a lot. Essentially because because I got saved when using that translation, that convinced me that God will use flawed Bible as much as flawed people. I also like the KJV a lot because it keep the truth about the Trinity intact and pure and I will defend that truth to the death. But Gary's right. It is not innerant and you have been brainwashed by the KJV-ONLY cult. No english translation is without error. They are all imperfect. The KJV is not innerant. Jesus is THE WORD.
@cmakanda13 There is a lot of truth in what you say. But you and those who are in the pain and anger you are in wouldn't make the world any better. But you can't see that can you?
the Bible is a lie it was used to slave my people in slavery and still works on the stupid one of my people ...christianity is worst than islam ...look and see the killing bombing and lies the christians are still using to rob peoples oil..gas...gold etc.. this man JESUS... i would love to be the one to kill him if he came back [so they say lol] the dirty jew
Before God revealed Himself to me through Jesus I probably would have agreed with you. But when I came to the end of myself and saw my own hypocrisy, God showed me that He was not a hypocrite like me. What about you, cmakanda? Are you REALLY so much better than all the people you hate? I'm quite certain the day will come when God reveals Himself to you. When He does He'll show you the pain in your heart that is causing you to not see clearly now. Peace to you, Gary
@tentmaker777 the god concept was here before the wicked went around teaching/ speading christianity we knew a evil race of people were coming with a false god ......that false god is jesus and the false book is the bible..NOTE.......THE TRUTH WAS HERE BEFORE THEY CAME....AND IT IS STILL HERE AND RISING...AND THEM AND THE LIE IS FALLING....ps...the truth was revealed to me a long time ago i only love what should be loved and the rest i hate...JUST LIKE MY GOD
@cmakanda13 You sound like you've made yourself a god in your own image. From my own personal experiences, gods in our own image eventually destroy themselves with their own hate. When YOU decide what to love and hate, then you are no different than the Christians you hate. Your just like them. But you can't yet see that, can you. But one day (and I hope and pray soon) you'll see that. And then you will be healed. Come to the Cross of Christ. There is room there for all your pain/anger.
@tentmaker777 God bless you for comforting that poor soul and I truly mean it. They need us. When I see people in pain, my own just doesn't matter anymore, no matter how very real it is. It's like, I suddenly have enough strength to pull through and reach out to them. I see a purpose in this. I don't get it, it will probably come to me later...
@tentmaker777 YOU PROVED MY POINT WITH THAT VIDEO ON YOUR SITE HERMAN THE GERMAN YOUR FRIEND A MAN WHO LOVES BLOOD AND WAR .....THE POOR INDIANS ..POOR ON THEIR OWN LAND ...AND THE PEOPLE WHO STOLE IT STILL GO AROUND THE WORLD KILLING AND TAKING IN THE NAME OF JESUS..........I HATE JESUS SO MUCH.....JESUS MUST BE PUT TO DEATH FOR GOOD
@cmakanda13 He was "put to death for good," my friend. He was put to death for YOUR good. He was put to death so that there is a place to put your hate. If you want to put Jesus to death for good, come to the Cross of Christ and drive the nails in a little deeper. There is always room for another human being to pour out their hate, anger, envey, bitterness, frustration and pain...always room enough. So, you believe Jesus exists. So do I. Go find Him and see what He does with your hatred.
@cmakanda13 Listen to me, cmakanda. I know what agony is like. I've been in a lot of pain and just as angry as you are. It still happens to me. But you don't want bad things to happen to people and you don't want to kill Jesus. Come on, you don't really mean that. Jesus do not condomn those fake Christians hurting your people. Believe me, I understand your pain. You can PM me on youtube and talk to me if you want. If you need someone to talk to, you can talk to me. Peace.
@cmakanda13 All you will get from me is compassion and kindness. I will not judge you. My people is not enslaved or being bombed, but I understand your pain. I've lost loved ones. I have felt completely useless due to my disability and I've been through horrible things, so I can relate. You can talk to me if you want. I will listen. Tell me about your afflictions and I will comfort you through Him. He didn't condomn this and you will be delivered. Your people will be free. Love never fails...
Well let's see, did everyone inherit dead due to Adam's transgression? Did you have a say about being born into a world of death and sin under a "God of this world" that has deceived the whole world? Could we have decided not to play? No, our lot in life was given to us by the "transgression of one man." Therefore, isn't it reasonable AND just that by the act of One MAN, eternal life is given to all the same ones who had to experience death? Isn't that fair? Isn't that reasonable? Just?
Go watch "Lake of fire tormented tested or refined and you'll seee what I mean. There are key words that have been MIStranslated, aion, aionios, basanos, sheol, hades, gehenna, krima, katakrima, tartarus, etc. When they are corrected, there is no "everlasting punishment," for example but "age during correction." big difference.
@tentmaker777 Every popular translation is still translated as-is, and most commentaries concur the scriptures are referring to eternal punishment. The NIV was updated this year, and it too STILL contains “eternal punishment” (Matt 25:46).
Hundreds of scholars have already done their homework translating the bible, and most if not all have come to the same conclusion when translating the text. It's a big claim to say this study has somehow found a different conclusion and everyone else is wrong!
Actually, Dscern4 that's not true. If you go to the Tentmaker Ministries site and look for the article "Hell is leaving the Bible forever" you will discover a list of many translations that do not have the word hell from cover to cover. Furthermore of the Hellish translations, they can't agree which words should be translated Hell and which should be translated grave or something else. That fact there is MUCH confusion in the Hell camp should make one want to search this out if truth is importan
@tentmaker777 I wasn't talking about the actual word "hell". I know it's translated in modern bibles as Sheol, grave, and Gehenna. However, I was referring to the scriptures I posted that refer to eternal punishment (Matt 25:41-46, Rev 14:11, Rev 19:20, Rev 20:15). Modern translations all still contain words like "eternal", "forever", "everlasting" for these scriptures.
Visit Tentmaker Ministries site and find articles and books on Aion. There is one by J.W. Hanson, a full book that reveals aionios in "everlasting punishment" does NOT mean everlasting. Study to show yourself approved.
I honestly cant believe all of the crap on youtube about such ignorant subjects, no wonder people believe what they do, they follow such videos as this. Everyone has an opinion but you get guys like this who preach this as truth and those who dont know better follow it. The whole BILBE is about heaven and hell, its a latin word meaning death, revelations they are taken out of death and into the lake of fire, despite what people tell you, this is the truth
Thank you littlelogcabins for your comment from the hell camp. You confirm my video. Anyone who reads your post with brains in tact can see that you make no sense at all.
@tentmaker777 Ohh because anyone that dosent want to hear the truth will disagree with me and formulate there own opinions based on what suites them best ? Yeah, I totally agree...much like yourself actually. If anyone has ever picked up a Bible then they know it is about heaven and hell. Its the theme of any and every Bible...unless you take out God, the Devil, and Christ that is
Just as darkness doesn't really exist, it is just the absence of light, so too, Hell, it is just the absence of the Kingdom of God. But eventually the kingdom of God will reach the universe and Hell will disappear. Just believe, ye of so little faith.
No, Jehovah's Witnesses are closer to traditional church. They teach the annihilation of some wicked instead of eternally torturing them like the traditional church. Both Jehovah's witnesses and traditional church make Jesus a failure because He doesn't save everyone. Jesus is Victorious over all, He Saves All! So traditional Christians and Jehovah's witnesses have this in common, they both make Jesus a failure.
@tentmaker777 Umm, and where do you get the doctrine that your speaking of friend ? I do agree that Jesus is victorious over all, but Im having trouble with the he saves everyone part. The scriptures do say that "he that believeith on him SHOULD not parish, but have everlasting life"...I believe that excludes those who do not believe, and also some that do.
If eternal suffering for the lost is not real, why did Jesus die? Why did he willingly go to His death? If we all eventually end up in heaven anyway, what's the point? I don't mean to offend anyone with this, but I feel it cheapens His sacrifice to say that.
A VERY short response is that the wages of sin is death. ALL mankind was locked up in sin so NO ONE could claim their own righteousness got them into heaven. God locked up all mankind to disobedience so that He could have mercy upon all. Death was a corporate thing through the first Adam, eternal life is a corporate thing through Jesus Christ. God's method of redeeming mankind was through the Son of God/Son of Man, Jesus. He "tasted death (not eternal torture) for every person.
Why all the talk against the bible... man has tried on many occasions to get rid of the books altogether, but it is an impossible feat. Plan B: A discredit and slander campaign... but it won't work. The truth stands forever no matter what man says or does. Death and destruction is coming to the New Egypt and Sodom... Japan can testify to that... Buddha was smashed and its HELL on earth for the survivors.
I'm not against the Bible, I'm FOR making it more accurate. The teaching of Hell is not in the original languages of the Bible. The concept of everlasting punishment is a DARK AGE addition to the original. And sir, you sound like a very angry, judgmental, self-righteous man, the kind Jesus rebuked repeatedly. Why don't you read Matt. ch. 23, it's about you, and then read Matt. 5:38-48, it's about how to repent from your hateful demeanor.
@tentmaker777 I agree. Im not sure why my last comment is not recorded here (rather is this being directed towards the most recent commentatator on your page ie. Me). But I did not come here propagating any denomination, but I did come here to find someone who was likeminded in the understanding that the scriptures have been mistranslated in the past. And Im not if it is me you are speaking to sir. But I have not shown these attributes in my comments. More or less agreeing with the same concept
The Bible has been fiddled with many times over. That is why you should not depend on finding Truth in any book, religion, person ... or anything else, for that matter. The Truth is within the Self. When you know the Truth, it is clear that the Bible has wisdom, but it is also clear that the Bible contains ignorance.
That beings burn in a hell is a figment of Christian imagination, no matter what the Bible may say. Hell is a state of being that leads to Heaven, another state of being.
@tentmaker777 The Apocryphal books were removed from the KJV bible because they were authored by evil men and quietly slipped into the catholic Greek Septuagint. In reality the catholic church added to th word of God and will suffer His punishment for it. Funny thing you didn't or dared not even mentioned the KJV bible in your video at all, which clearly shows the misplaced and utter prejudice in your false message.
I suggest you read a few biographies of King James himself. You'll have plenty to chew on regarding "evil" men. This video was about translations that DO NOT CONTAIN Hell, so why would I mention KJV when it is obviously one of the most hellish and mistranslated Bibles there is? As to Catholic Greek Septuagint, you obviously don't know what you're talking about. Are you in one of the KJV only cults? Get out of there! You're messing yourself up big time. I know, I was stuck in one...brainwashing.
@tentmaker777 "I suggest you read a few biographies of King James himself. You'll have plenty to chew on regarding "evil" men."
You know, many people can write just about anything in a biography. Bitter enemies and rivals come up with all kind of lies. Unless you can provide undeniable evidence, don't trust what you hear and read...
@tentmaker777 You know that some Christian Universalists still use the KJV along with other IMPERFECT AND FLAWED Bibles (they all are) right? Even though they no longer believe in "the INNERANT Bible" and they see the errors, it doesn't stop them from appreciating the poetic language and the truth of the Trinity doctrine being kept intact and pure. You want to get the truth out there I get that. But there are a few truths in the KJV as well. Don't prejudice and hurt people's feelings...
This guy quoted practically every bible translation he knows and say there is no mention of the word "hell" in these translations. What he did not or dare not do was to quote the KJV bible, which is the PURE word of God in the English language. In the KJV bible, the word "hell" is mentioned 54 times !...31 times in the Old testament and 23 times in the New Testament. And the King James bible was translated in 1611, preceding all the bible translations he mentioned !
Actually, I have quoted the KJV many times proving it is one of the most Hellish and mistranslations on the market. And you are incorrect, the worl Hell is in the original 110 times, not 54. You see YOUR KJV has had 14 books removed since 1611. And since you beleive the KJV is the PURE word of God and your version of the KJV has REMOVED thousands of words, the plagues of Rev. 22:19 must fall upon your head, that is, if you believe such nonsense. It would really be better if you opened your mind.
@tentmaker777 It might be good for you to take your own advice and be a little more open minded. Contemplate that maybe it's all bullshit, not just certain versions. How exactly do you go about finding the "correct" translation anyway?
@martlut There is absolutely no evidence of that whatsoever. Everyone fail to provide evidence. One of his bitter enemies started that rumor back in the days and 25 years ago, two persons wrote an article to start that rumor again...
@opsvideo2008 Actually, the KJV was only the third english translations. Before that, it was the Bishop Bible and the other one, I don't remember. Maybe it was the Geneva. But the KJV was the third english translation, not the very first one...
@Cutie9326 Before the King James Version Bible, there were other early modern english translations of the bible such as the Tyndale Bible, the Great Bible, the Geneva Bible and the Bishop's Bible. But the KJV Bible (1611) definitely preceeded all the bible translations mentioned by the person in this video such as the Scarlett's NT, the Young's Literal Translation, the 20th Century NT, the Fenton Bible etc. He is selecting only those facts that suit his erroneous argument.
@opsvideo2008 If the KJV was the pure word of God... get this... IT'D BE REALLY CLEAR AND SIMPLE AND EASY TO UNDERSTAND! God has a certain way with words you know... There's no way God would ever let a book as screwed up as the KJV be credited to him
There is no everlasting punishment of hell. Anyone in hell can come out of it. Hell is a state of the mind, just as Heaven is a state of the mind. An afterlife is not mentioned in the Bible, at least not from what I've seen, and I've read it cover to cover. Just as Buddhism teaches that defeating attachment to greed and hate is Nirvana, so did Jesus teach of Heaven. Jesus taught that God is not the God of the dead, but the living. If Heaven is being with God, you can't when dead.
@stfwho MATTHEW 22:30 JOHN 5:29 JOHN 11:24-25 MATTHEW 27:53 REVELATION 1:18 JOHN 12:27 JOHN 20:29 REVELATION 20:10-15 REVELATION 14:6-12 REVELATION 20:13-15 PSALM 16:10 MATTHEW 5:22 MATHEW 10:28 LUKE 13:28 REVELATION 21:22-23 REVELATION 5:12 REVELATION 7:17 REVELATION 19:20 REVELATION 20:4-6 Jesus didn't die 4 no reason. He died 4 our sakes. Jesus was SPIRITUALLY ABANDONDED on the cross4 every sin WE committed. It wasn't just physical suffering
When they spoke of resurrection, they meant rebirth... Born again as a good person. They often refer to the damned as the dead, like when Jesus said to let the dead bury the dead. I'm not very well in remembering out of context bible verse names and numbers, but I sure do remember it being very clear that heaven is in the mind.
@stfwho Heaven, as Scripture shows is a real place, just as real as the lake of fire where death + hell r eventually 2 b thrown. Show me with Scripture where it says heaven is in the mind? I know u didn't get that from Scripture. THIS IS WHAT JESUUS MEANT BY REBIRTH: JOHN 3:1-36. The more u deny God's Word is truth the more u will stumble in ur understanding of what God is saying. P.s. U still haven't responded 2 my previous post - waiting 4 a response...
@The3in1trinity I decided to not respond because obviously you think the parables are literal. You genuinely think there is a VIP party club in the sky for nice people and a fiery dungeon with a lake made of fire where bad people will go, for eternity, after they've died. If you seriously believe that then I don't think logic is going to do much good here... Look up when the disciples asked what heaven is, and Jesus explains in parables. He didn't mean to literally plant trees in people
@The3in1trinity I'm pretty sure you need to re-read the bible and not take every single thing literally. Also, I suggest you read the context of all the verses you sent to me, I'm sure you'll find that many times the context places the verse in a parable style and that it is not meant to be taken literally.
@stfwho Scripture shows from itself what is 2 b taken literally + the Scriptures i have previously given u r 2 b taken literally. Show me from the Scriptures i have already given where they indicate they r not 2 b taken literally? I always read the Scriptures i give + they appear 2 b literal. The Scriptures i gave u r not parables. I know the difference between a parable + something that is 2 b taken literally...
@The3in1trinity If you're just gonna ignore my previous comments telling you to read the context of the scriptures you have given, then I suppose you refuse to listen and just wanna stay in fairy tale land. Oh well. Good luck.
@stfwho No, my friend, it's u that doesn't listen 2 what Scripture states. I have given u Scripture+it is clear that it is 2b taken literally. U appear 2want 2distort the Scripture 2fit in with what u want rather than what God is telling us in His Word. We r warned in Scripture that there would b ppl who would preach a different doctrine by distorting Scripture. I have read what u have written+answered u but u still haven't responded 2my posts. C my posts on what Jesus says Himself...
@The3in1trinity I'm pretty sure I've read the bible cover to cover. Your original post was full of passages that I looked up, and realized you aren't very good at understanding the context. I see you are tempting me to believe in your whacky deviation from the truth and trying to make me believe in a false "afterlife" that comes from ancient religions in Egypt and Sumeria, so BEGONE DEMON!
@stfwho Common sense should tell u that if i give Scripture i have obviously read the Scripture 2 know i am giving the correct Scripture + in context. It's u that has a problem with Scripture that doesn't fit in with ur none Biblical views. It's u my friend who is living a lie not me...Read the Scriptures i gave u...
@stfwho You are dead wrong. You have been brainwashed by the New Agers. Heaven and Hell are on the spiritual plane and just as real as earth is on the physical plane. We can experience them in this life, but they are not only state of the mind, they are very much real. And you are wrong when you say that if heaven is being with God, you can't when dead. You have been brainwashed and you reject the truth of the resurrection. God is in fact the God of both the dead and the living. God study...
@Cutie9326 I didn't know Jesus Christ was a newager and I didn't know the Bible was New Age. Oh well, anyone who follows Jesus is wrong I guess. I gotta find the truth now =(
The Original language that Scripture was written in speaks of no such place as hell. In the old testament there is one word that was mistranslated purposely and that word is Sheol and Sheol means "the Grave" or Pit. In the New Testament there are three words that was purposely mistranslated and they are "Gehenna" ( Vally of Hennom) "Tartarus" (The Place where the four angels are kept under the river Euphrates) , and "Hades" ( Greek equivalent of the Hebrew word Sheol which is the grave).
Gary: I have most English Bible translations produced. For a modern reader, the KJV is perhaps the worst translation to use. Besides thousands of errors, the English is so archaic that hundreds of words in it are no longer in the dictionary. The original languages of the Bible were in simple form that the average person could understand what they read. The KJV, the original, even the alphabet was different than it is today. You are in the KJV only cult, a wicked cult indeed.
ridiculous. you attempt pass off each of those translations saying in one sentence "they do not contain any concept of eternal punishment" it takes a lot more than that to search the scriptures.
Well, gee, do you HAVE those translations? I do. They have corrected the words mistranslated Hell and corrected the words mistranslated eternal, forever and ever and everlasting. Perhaps you should get a copy of each yourself and find out for yourself?
@tentmaker777 No I do not have those translations and no I will not go and get them. Do you really think that your understanding of scripture sweeps away two millenia of theology guided and refined by the Holy Spirit through men of God who earnestly desired to understand the scripture? You are the one who bears the burden of proving that you have surpassed all those men, counsels, scholarship, revival, martyrs, language study, new manuscripts etc. You separate yourself from Gods riches.
you attempt to contain all of Gods work in Christian history and throw it away by calling nearly all preachers Pharisees. It seems that your main "calling" is to preach against the reality of hell, by attempting to redefine words. Paul is always helpful to identify false teachers: 1Ti 6:4 "He has an unhealthy craving for controversy and for quarrels about words." Read the Word with a humble heart and be instructed, all you who read this. Do not lean on you own understanding
No, sozocharis, if you truly walked in the name you've chosen, sozocharis, you would plainly see, my motive and purpose is to glorify God, I think your teaching that most of mankind is burning forever does not bring glory to Him, but grossly maligns Him. Now is Jesus' day, what did Jesus call most of the preachers in His day? What makes you think things have changed. Look at the tens ouf thousands of denominations of Christianity. Paul warned against this, didn't he?
in your previous 2 posts it seems you've reverted to personal attacks, AKA "an unhealthy craving for controversy" in lieu of any coherent argument, Biblically or otherwise. You are also mistaken about denominations, but thats another topic. The reality is that you condemn the main body of Christ as Pharisees because you do not have the Biblical understanding to enter into the conversation. The only reason you have ANY Bible in English is because of these men, e.g. Wycliffe
If there is any "personal attacks" going on between us, sozocharis, I think it is your personal attack on the precious name of Jesus, the Savior of the world. This HOPE is vital and you denigrate it by making God look worse than Charles Manson, Hiter, or Stalin. These men would never do what you ascribe to God. Why don't you study to show yourself approved and stop your personal attacks on your heavenly Father. Why don't you follow the path of the Prodigal son, come to your senses.
Pro 16:4 The LORD has made everything for its purpose, even the wicked for the day of trouble.
Jer 19:15 "Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, behold, I am bringing upon this city and upon all its towns all the disaster that I have pronounced against it, because they have stiffened their neck, refusing to hear my words."
I think the name for this video should be "Is the Bible the Word of God?"
Do you believe the story of the Flood, or is that for pharisees?
Sozo, it's obvious, you don't know the difference between the Old covenant and the new. Paul makes it plain that covenant was broken and abolished. So why do you keep digging it up? Here, try this on for size: YOU search the scriptures for in THEM you think you have life, but they testify of me (Jesus) but you are not willing to come to Me that you might have life." John 5:39 Life is in the Son, death is in the Old Covenant. And now we know why you have such a dark view of God.
Mat 5:17 "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets
Gods wrath reveals the depth of his Love and power to save
2Th 1:7-9 when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with his mighty angels (8) in flaming fire, inflicting vengeance on those who do not know God and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. (9) They will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might,
and yet the main message of the Gospel isn't about Hell at all, but the fact that God is merciful and desires us to know Him. It is only in this context I would spend so much time discussing Hell.
Joe 2:12-13 "Return to the LORD your God, for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love; and he relents over disaster."
Act 2:38 Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins..."
@Sozocharis Baptism with water is not necessary for salvation. It's a show of dedication and it preceded the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. Water baptism is a work and people must rely solely on Christ's shed blood and the works of the cross. Salvation by water baptism is a lie made up by the Catholic church. Everyone will eventually believe and be born again of the Spirit. There is only one baptism that saves, that's when He indwells a person...
why doesn't he read more respectable version like the king james? it was reformed by puritans so that any pagan thing was added would be discluded, so why didn't they get rid of hell?
What is "respectable" with men often is a disrespect to God. Just like the Jews, Christians have "made the word of God of no effect by their traditions" Matt. 15:6-9 "You searth the Scriptures for in them you think you have life, but they testify of Me but you don't come to Me that you might have life. John 5:39
The Translators were BOUND by 15 rules from King James chaining the translators to the Traditions of the Church and not to what the Hebrew and Greek texts revealed. Look up the 15 rules King James forced upon the translators on the internet.
@tentmaker777 it was forced upon them not to change the original text unless the hebrew word was untranslatable so they had to use a different word to define it, the rest of the rules seem to stay true to make the whole accuracy of the Bible remans
The translators were told NOT to violate the traditions of the Anglican Church. They were NOT told to stay with the original languages but to stay with tradition. For example, they HAD to use the word "church" even though the translators knew the word church was pagan. It came from circe, a character in Greek Mythology.
@tentmaker777 it also said the bishop's Bible will be altered as little as the original text will permit, and what does it matter if it has words like bishop or church in the Bible anyway? we already know hwat they're talking about
You prove my point. The Bishop's Bible is a translation, it is not the original hebrew Greek. And if you think leaving pagan words like church in the bible, then you don't have a high regard for truth. Circe, was the daughter of the sun God who turned men into animals. Gee, look at church history, the Church has turned men into behaving like animals, it's killed millions in the name of God. The body of Christ is NOT "church," it is ekklesia.
@tentmaker777 then you've obvously never heard of new living translation per the king james Bible is any phrase that is hardly understandable you can use a more familiar phrase that has the same meaning so long as it doesn't differ too much from the original text, so Christ's body IS THE CHURCH AND EKKLESIA
It's all nonsense anyway. The Christian church knows this and is doing it's best to keep onto it's flock. But as education free of bias spreads, the average joe will be liberated once and for all from religion and mankind can get on with evolving and improving. Visit the website: God is imaginary!!
Well, the atheistic communist countries of the 20th centuries should have given you a heads up regarding religion free societies. Atheistic societies turn men into gods just like religious societies. The change you expect won't hapen.
@tentmaker777 I agree. This is the perfect example of how man is still evolving and is a long way of perfection, if that is possible. We will fight each other over other reasons if religion didn't exist. It's in our nature. Basically one way or another I think the human spiecies is fucked. Still I'd rather die a free thinker than long for some imaginary freind to let me in Heaven, if I believed in Jesus of course!!!!
@Cutie9326 I cant remember what I wrote? Shit!! :-(
Oviously it was a bout that old chestnut Hell. But bugger me, wtf did I say??
Will I to burn forever in Hell for swearing? F**k Knows....
But then again Hell is just a fabrication in order to control and sell the message. Shame really because mostly christian values are very good. Apart from not believing, I like main stream Christianity, It's just the Fundies that scare me!! Bloody Hell, is that the time? Must dash!!
@garysgreat There is no forever hell. Swearing would not land u there if there was. Master Jesus said that whores would enter the kingdom before self-righteous fundamentalists. GOD is Love. We can trust the greatest lover Jesus and not liars who claim to represent him about what is real and what is unreal. Liars worship the unreal while the good ones honor reality reflecting the divine principle, Love, the full and only real, eliminating the ego-animal-the diseased mania of the human game within.
@Lovingvictory1 IMO ther is no heaven either. Still I don't mind the christian message of love and peace. I just don't like been told I will burn in hell for not believeing in Jesus. I like many others, am a decent caring person who hurts no one. Fundies say this, either all of the bible is true or it's all a lie. I actually agree with them, thats why I think it's a lie. The OT god is one nasty evil bastard and could only be the product of sick and backward bronze age goat herders minds.
GENESIS 6 & 7 Unhappy with the wickedness of man, God killed every living thing on the planet except Noah’s family. Men, women, infants and animals drowned in unimaginable terror and agony. OR:
LEVITICUS 26:27-29 God threatened hostility, punishing people for their sins "seven times over," making them eat the flesh of their sons and daughters.
REVELATION 6:8 In the End Times, God gives Death permission to slaughter 25% of the earth’s population by "sword, famine and plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth."
ACTS 5:1-9 Ananias lied about the money he’d made on sold property, keeping some for himself. God killed him, then killed his wife for being in on it.
My connection with Jesus, I believe transcends "belief." I can't begin to tell you about what happened to me 25 years ago. Words cannot describe it. We humans with out pathetic 5 senses and a mind proned to practicing and believing lies can't really fathom the realm of God. It probably would be foolish for me to even try to explain it to you. But when you come to understand that you are F*#W$W$% more than you know, you might become a candidate for true understanding.
@tentmaker777 "But when you come to understand that you are F*#W$W$% more than you know, you might become a candidate for true understanding."
O_O Woah! Did you actually cussed? Woah! *Laugh* Oh, um, prepare to facepalm 'cause he's gonna attack again. Fundies always do. Do you think Fundies and rothwellers were raised together? 'Cause that would explain a lot...
Oh actually i just listened to your video, i understand what you are saying now. You make exactly the point i was alluding to. How did you come to understand this ?
Well i appreciate the fact that you were willing to look deeper into gods word and understand that HELLFIRE contradicts what the bible says about Gods personality.
The reason i asked is because, i think its fairly obvious in the bible that there is no hell, but most people read and cant seem to understand that we go back "to the dust" not burn in hell.
@theBIBLETHUMPER83 Hello brother. I was, for most of my life a KJV only christian. Ultimately, this brought me to a place where I had to rethink what I believed cuz I found mistakes. Not only did I discover that most English Bibles have been mistranslated, but that alot of the mistranslations were done on pupose, by the church! Scarey but true.
@lethalmarines the Bible was reformed multiplae times the only time it wasn't done by over controlling catholics was in the 16th century by puritans who found so many faults with the Bible they wanted it completely re translated
@tentmaker777 i noticed you said that the english standard version has no reference to hell in the old testament, but in psalm 9:17 it says that all the wicked shall be turned into hell and all the nations that forget God
interesting. a christian who is able to study the bible for himsefl without the radical embellishment of later theologies orally introduced. all the fire and brimstone plagues the teachings of jesus. he was a figure against authority of this world and establishment that holds power over others and keeps them destitute and poor. after bridging the gap why would he then take an ax to one side? good luck getting mainstream christians to see this for themselves.

SimplyThinkDreams 4 months ago
@PropheticVindicator How can you claim that he doesn't love God? Do you know his thoughts and feelings? Just because he has different beliefs than you, you think he's some horrible Satan-worshiper. I'm sure you love God. You're just misguided.
May I ask you one question… who made hell?
ballonenciel 5 months ago
@PropheticVindicator Why would he go to hell? He obviously loves God and trusts Jesus as his savior. Think before you comment.

The truth is "And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw (drag in Greek) all mankind unto myself." John 12:32
tentmaker777 6 months ago
@6996109 "And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw (drag in Greek) all mankind to Myself." John 12:32. Some call that a lie, some have been given faith to believe in God's greatest promises. Obviously, you haven't.

all religions have one thing in common , they all pray to an invisible and inaudible god and yet claim to know his mind , what he thinks and what he feels and what punishment he likes to dish out..as for a creator of the universe , of course its possible , but a biblical god , a genocidal , racist who makes women feel pain during child birth , kills countless men women and babies with a flood , please , grow up..the bible is an insult to any creator if one even exists.
grumpyguts1967 6 months ago
@grumpyguts1967 Well, I can sure see why you have "grumpyguts," I had them too when I was an atheist, but them my creator and yours, decided to open my eyes and heart and also threw in some understanding of the Bible that made sense. I hope some day real soon, you get healed of gutrot so that "out of your belly will flow rivers of living waters." Oh, I know that doesn't make any sense to you right now, but one day it will. Til then, peace....
tentmaker777 4 months ago
@grumpyguts1967 i think i know where you're coming from. you don't feel that the behaviors of those people in the bible warranted the punishment they received. am i right?
ghostdancer1984 2 months ago
@ghostdancer1984 you could put it that way , or i could go a little further , a god of the bible , an abrahamic god , a christian god , or any god for that matter , is not worthy of human praise or worship , religious folk talk about humans not matching gods standards , well , i say he doesnt match mine , i dont condone genocide , human sacrifice , slavery , the list goes on .
grumpyguts1967 2 months ago
@grumpyguts1967 i think that's the point of the bible though. that our behavior is not good enough for the hebrew god. he has stern punishment for it. i think most people don't feel that theft, adultery, murder, lying, cheating, etc.., are crimes worthy of death. however, if you think of god has an actual entity, non-personal, that watches what he has made with scrutiny, and is perfecting it, it makes more sense. it's like a gardener pruning a plant. does the leaf really deserve to die?

Just to make one more point if I may. The second death (eternal, also meaning "final", not continual" will take place after the 1000 year reign. Wear those whose name are not found in book of Life Rev. 20:11-15. Will be cast into the lake of fire. But I dont believe they will be burning forever in ever. But they will be cast into outer darkness. Forever seperated from the Father and Son, which they chose to reject. But the eternal torment part? Not scriptural within context.
speekez616 7 months ago
@speekez616 VERY confusing. First, you say they go to the lake of fire to be burned, but not forever. Then they get cast into outer darkness to be eternally separated from God? This god is a failure to be sure! But this God knows what He is doing: 1 Tim. 4:9-11
tentmaker777 7 months ago
Also on the other note, Hitler if he was practicing "annihilationism" = Genocide/ Racial Cleansing, (hope I spelled that right) Would this still be that man is trying to play God? When God himself said that he will cleanse the world of "UNGodly"(his standard) unrighteousness. Of course we are not God so we definitely should not be trying to accomplish what God said he will do. Once again small bit of truth and revelation by God+ extreme views unaccording to God's word = Branch Dividian.

@speekez616 Your site is full of links to Seventh Day Adventist, a group almost as strange as the Branch Davidians.
tentmaker777 7 months ago
Point being, I have that liberty in Christ to do so, and as long as things do not misallign with the Word of God, I believe there things to learn with fellowshipping with brothers and sisters in Christ in different denominations (except the pagan based ones, ie. Catholicism, Mormonism, Jehova False Witnesses, not lining with God's Word etc.). One denomination does not have the one stop shop of scriptural interpretation.
speekez616 7 months ago
I believe that there are scripturally sound teachings in each Christian denomination (Ie, Baptist, Protestant, Pentacostal, etc. all brethern regardless of expected human doctrinal error . I dont hold myself to any. But I do observe their teachings to see where it lines up with the Word of God. Do agree with every denominations teachings? No, but I do take the truth revealed to them by scripture and apply these to my individual walk with the Lord
speekez616 7 months ago
Well no I'm not 7th day adventist (Nor do I fully understand or agree with their doctrines, via E.G.W). But I think in this aspect of what the bible teaches about hell and the prior translations has placed a large amount of scriptural validity concerning the matter. Needless to say, I believe each body of Christ (denomination) has taken a part in truth of scriptural interpretation. But once again I also believe one church expounds on that truth revealed by God and can take to the extreme
speekez616 7 months ago
@speekez616 Well, the site you promoted here IS seventh day adventist.

Er, because it's fabricated shit?...

ZeusHelios 8 months ago
@ZeusHelios, after having studied the Bible for many years, I see no reason to believe in "hell." I think it was just added to the Bible at a very late date because it allowed evil men to make money and control other people's behavior. Obviously this world will be a better place if we have compassion for other people and establish social justice, as Jesus, Paul and the Hebrew prophets suggested. We should try to help people and not harm them unjustly. To me that is the message of the Bible.
MikeRBurch 8 months ago
@MikeRBurch I cant get to the site you have given here could you message it me in my inbox so I can try there thank you.
ZeusHelios 8 months ago
There is no definition of "hell." The base word is "Ghehenna" "hell or hell-fire" is anciently derived from the non-stop fires of the garbage pits. Someone reasoned that if there is a good place after death then there must be a bad place. Jesus effectively described "hell" as a state of the supreme ignorance of heavenliness and that understanding him would destroy the reverse or animal nature that is identified with this turning away from heavenliness or the Godly state of immortal being.

This is the greatest scandal of all time: there is no "hell" in the Bible! The proofs are very simple.

Just?

Matt 25:41 "Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire"
Matt 25:46 "And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life"
Rev. 14:11 "and the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever"
Rev 19:20 "These two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone"
Rev 20:15 "Anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire"
Discern4 10 months ago
Go watch "Lake of fire tormented tested or refined and you'll seee what I mean. There are key words that have been MIStranslated, aion, aionios, basanos, sheol, hades, gehenna, krima, katakrima, tartarus, etc. When they are corrected, there is no "everlasting punishment," for example but "age during correction." big difference.
tentmaker777 10 months ago
@tentmaker777 Every popular translation is still translated as-is, and most commentaries concur the scriptures are referring to eternal punishment. The NIV was updated this year, and it too STILL contains “eternal punishment” (Matt 25:46).
Hundreds of scholars have already done their homework translating the bible, and most if not all have come to the same conclusion when translating the text. It's a big claim to say this study has somehow found a different conclusion and everyone else is wrong!
Discern4 10 months ago
Actually, Dscern4 that's not true. If you go to the Tentmaker Ministries site and look for the article "Hell is leaving the Bible forever" you will discover a list of many translations that do not have the word hell from cover to cover. Furthermore of the Hellish translations, they can't agree which words should be translated Hell and which should be translated grave or something else. That fact there is MUCH confusion in the Hell camp should make one want to search this out if truth is importan
tentmaker777 10 months ago
@tentmaker777 I wasn't talking about the actual word "hell". I know it's translated in modern bibles as Sheol, grave, and Gehenna. However, I was referring to the scriptures I posted that refer to eternal punishment (Matt 25:41-46, Rev 14:11, Rev 19:20, Rev 20:15). Modern translations all still contain words like "eternal", "forever", "everlasting" for these scriptures.
Discern4 10 months ago
Visit Tentmaker Ministries site and find articles and books on Aion. There is one by J.W. Hanson, a full book that reveals aionios in "everlasting punishment" does NOT mean everlasting. Study to show yourself approved.

I honestly cant believe all of the crap on youtube about such ignorant subjects, no wonder people believe what they do, they follow such videos as this. Everyone has an opinion but you get guys like this who preach this as truth and those who dont know better follow it. The whole BILBE is about heaven and hell, its a latin word meaning death, revelations they are taken out of death and into the lake of fire, despite what people tell you, this is the truth
littlelogcabins 10 months ago

@tentmaker777 Hmm, jahova witness ?
littlelogcabins 10 months ago
No, Jehovah's Witnesses are closer to traditional church. They teach the annihilation of some wicked instead of eternally torturing them like the traditional church. Both Jehovah's witnesses and traditional church make Jesus a failure because He doesn't save everyone. Jesus is Victorious over all, He Saves All! So traditional Christians and Jehovah's witnesses have this in common, they both make Jesus a failure.
tentmaker777 10 months ago
@tentmaker777 Umm, and where do you get the doctrine that your speaking of friend ? I do agree that Jesus is victorious over all, but Im having trouble with the he saves everyone part. The scriptures do say that "he that believeith on him SHOULD not parish, but have everlasting life"...I believe that excludes those who do not believe, and also some that do.
littlelogcabins 10 months ago
If eternal suffering for the lost is not real, why did Jesus die? Why did he willingly go to His death? If we all eventually end up in heaven anyway, what's the point? I don't mean to offend anyone with this, but I feel it cheapens His sacrifice to say that.
whiteclaudia9 10 months ago

Funny thing you didn't or dared not even mentioned the KJV bible in your video at all, which clearly shows the misplaced and utter prejudice in your false message.
opsvideo2008 11 months ago

Cutie9326 9 months ago
@tentmaker777 You know that some Christian Universalists still use the KJV along with other IMPERFECT AND FLAWED Bibles (they all are) right? Even though they no longer believe in "the INNERANT Bible" and they see the errors, it doesn't stop them from appreciating the poetic language and the truth of the Trinity doctrine being kept intact and pure. You want to get the truth out there I get that. But there are a few truths in the KJV as well. Don't prejudice and hurt people's feelings...
Cutie9326 9 months ago
This guy quoted practically every bible translation he knows and say there is no mention of the word "hell" in these translations. What he did not or dare not do was to quote the KJV bible, which is the PURE word of God in the English language. In the KJV bible, the word "hell" is mentioned 54 times !...31 times in the Old testament and 23 times in the New Testament. And the King James bible was translated in 1611, preceding all the bible translations he mentioned !
opsvideo2008 11 months ago
Actually, I have quoted the KJV many times proving it is one of the most Hellish and mistranslations on the market. And you are incorrect, the worl Hell is in the original 110 times, not 54. You see YOUR KJV has had 14 books removed since 1611. And since you beleive the KJV is the PURE word of God and your version of the KJV has REMOVED thousands of words, the plagues of Rev. 22:19 must fall upon your head, that is, if you believe such nonsense. It would really be better if you opened your mind.

Cutie9326 9 months ago
@Cutie9326 Before the King James Version Bible, there were other early modern english translations of the bible such as the Tyndale Bible, the Great Bible, the Geneva Bible and the Bishop's Bible. But the KJV Bible (1611) definitely preceeded all the bible translations mentioned by the person in this video such as the Scarlett's NT, the Young's Literal Translation, the 20th Century NT, the Fenton Bible etc. He is selecting only those facts that suit his erroneous argument.
opsvideo2008 9 months ago

@The3in1trinity Matthew 22:31-32....

You are in the KJV only cult, a wicked cult indeed.

you attempt to contain all of Gods work in Christian history and throw it away by calling nearly all preachers Pharisees.

@Sozocharis
Paul warned against this, didn't he?
tentmaker777 1 year ago
@tentmaker777
in your previous 2 posts it seems you've reverted to personal attacks, AKA "an unhealthy craving for controversy" in lieu of any coherent argument, Biblically or otherwise.

@Vlaxerman343
What is "respectable" with men often is a disrespect to God. Just like the Jews, Christians have "made the word of God of no effect by their traditions" Matt. 15:6-9 "You searth the Scriptures for in them you think you have life, but they testify of Me but you don't come to Me that you might have life. The Translators were BOUND by 15 rules from King James chaining the translators to the Traditions of the Church and not to what the Hebrew and Greek texts revealed. Look up the 15 rules King James forced upon the translators on the internet.
tentmaker777 1 year ago
@tentmaker777 it was forced upon them not to change the original text unless the hebrew word was untranslatable so they had to use a different word to define it, the rest of the rules seem to stay true to make the whole accuracy of the Bible remans
Vlaxerman343 1 year ago
@Vlaxerman343
The translators were told NOT to violate the traditions of the Anglican Church. They were NOT told to stay with the original languages but to stay with tradition. For example, they HAD to use the word "church" even though the translators knew the word church was pagan. It came from circe, a character in Greek Mythology.
tentmaker777 1 year ago
@tentmaker777 it also said the bishop's Bible will be altered as little as the original text will permit, and what does it matter if it has words like bishop or church in the Bible anyway? we already know hwat they're talking about
Vlaxerman343 1 year ago
@Vlaxerman343
The body of Christ is NOT "church," it is ekklesia.
tentmaker777 1 year ago
@tentmaker777 then you've obvously never heard of new living translation per the king james Bible is any phrase that is hardly understandable you can use a more familiar phrase that has the same meaning so long as it doesn't differ too much from the original text, so Christ's body IS THE CHURCH AND EKKLESIA
Vlaxerman343 1 year ago
It's all nonsense anyway. The Christian church knows this and is doing it's best to keep onto it's flock. But as education free of bias spreads, the average joe will be liberated once and for all from religion and mankind can get on with evolving and improving. Visit the website: God is imaginary!!

We humans with out pathetic 5 senses and a mind proned to practicing and believing lies can't really fathom the realm of God. It probably would be foolish for me to even try to explain it to you. But when you come to understand that you are F*#W$W$% more than you know, you might become a candidate for true understanding.

O_O Woah! Did you actually cussed? Woah! *Laugh* Oh, um, prepare to facepalm 'cause he's gonna attack again. Fundies always do. Do you think Fundies and rothwellers were raised together? 'Cause that would explain a lot...

When God saved me, He put a LOT into me all at the same time. BIG download of Spiritual stuff.

@tentmaker777

And why didnt Adam and Eve go to Hell ?
theBIBLETHUMPER83 1 year ago
@theBIBLETHUMPER83
Right. When Did God make Hell?

@tentmaker777
Exactly, can you answer that ?
theBIBLETHUMPER83 1 year ago
@tentmaker777 i noticed you said that the english standard version has no reference to hell in the old testament, but in psalm 9:17 it says that all the wicked shall be turned into hell and all the nations that forget God
