Unfortunately this violence will continue because we are a good a decent Country and the powers that be are way to tolerant of this scum. As long as we continue to cut funding for education we will continue to have under educated vulnerable kids that will join gangs. Long term Education is the only way to curve this problem.

KSBW had an interview with Rep. Sam Farr on the afternoon news today and they were discussing marital law in Salinas as a possibility! This is crazy. I'm currently trying to find a link to this but I don't think it's been posted yet.

When peoples safety are at risk I say do whatever it takes to protect them. If these gang members could aim we wouldn't have to worry (they'd just kill each other) but they can't and innocent people are getting hurt. Bring the Army in I don't care I have nothing to hide ^^

I don't really agree with Martial Law, but look at the border cities. The Mexican government recently sent the military to combat the drug cartels. Sometimes there is no solution other then military action. I don't think it's on that level yet though. It's also harder now a days to even know who is a gangster. For all you know I may be a sureno and for all I know you may be an Aryan Brotherhood. Too many stupid kids that need something to do. It would probably reduce crime. Or not.

At first I thought you were serious. Please provide me with your solution. At this point nothing seems to be working. Gangsters are not afraid of pulling the trigger. Why should they? They are never caught. There has been talks of the National Guard since 2003. Never happened. I have seen gangsters afraid of the GTF. My solution would be to exterminate gangsters, but that's not going to happen. Even with the help of CHP, they don't focus on the real problem. It's unfortunate.

I live in Salinas. When I heard about them getting help from the Navy, I thought of Martial Law. Probably because ive listened to Alex Jones a few times.

One time Jones was talking about controlling students in schools, and then I thought about Harden Middle School, where you have to where your ID around your neck at all times! Something he talked about.

I used to live on Fort Ord in the late 80's and in Salinas in this 90's. From what I have seen on the web Fort Ord is dilapidated or so it seems. It's a shame Salinas has gone to hell. I agree that the city needs to get their act together and figure the problem out without military intervention, isn't that what S.W.A.T. is for? Also I think the patriot act has abolished or changed posse comitatus. Might be worth checking out.

Thanks for commenting! Actually, the PATRIOT Act section about Posse Comitatus was repealed by the John Warner Defense Authorization Act, which was then repealed again to its original state as the Posse Comitatus Act of 1870 as we know it.
