@bedheadsweetie They've tried to keep somethings the same as the books, but before the show was even released, they said that for the most part they weren't going to follow the books. They wanted the show for the most part to be its own thing. While some of the characters have the same name, their personalities are completely dfferent. For example, in the books, Terra is a rich woman who owns a boutique and has even had a vampire boyfriend. Otherslike Eric have the same personality in the book.

this is a great video. it shows how much Bill loves Sookie and how proctive he is of her. Eric will never love and protect her the way Bill does.
