That's why he's not looking for them. Dom's Older Brother Carlo's died during the Pendulam Wars. Pre Emergence days! The same day his daughter was born! Talk about tough luck! Losing everybody. Makes this scene even more touching. Marcus is his only "family" left.

It was an illusion brought on by what he wanted. He was so blinded by the idea he was going to find her and she was going to be ok and they'd live together again that he hallucinated her being ok. When Marcus called his name and he looked away for a second, it snapped him back to reality and he saw what was really there.

cuz dom was so overcome by seeing his wife again that he saw her the way he saw her before losing her. but when marcus brings him back to his senses he sees shes scarred and basically lost everything that made her human. it doesnt look like she can speak and just has a pale stare completely unresponsive to seeing her husband. 14 years of locust captivity and torture did that to her and so dom euthanized her
