The ending was pretty predictable; but that's why I loved it so much! (i.e. the six-dollar man being so cheap it doesn't do much except wreak havoc) "What do you expect for six dollars?"
I was a huge fan of the 6 million dollar man as a kid. And when I saw this show i just could'nt stop laughing. I have been looking for this video for many years now and I am now 37. Brings back the memories and the tears of laughter.
Wow, I haven't seen this in ages! I'm 38 years old now and I remember that robot scaring the sweet be-jesus out of me....so much that I couldn't sleep for many nights and was glued to my mom every time I watched it. My sister who was 2 years younger than me was laughing hysterically along with my parents when that robot ran amuck and jumped up & down and lost its head, but I was terrified. Isn't it strange how some things scare us as kids?
@Nyana007 Hahaha! I remember the yip-yip aliens. I didn't mind them as much, but never knew what they were saying. I remember laughing hysterically when they pulled their lower lip over their heads when something freaked them out. You're right, they're kinda cute.
When you add the prices of the bowling ball and the scouring pad together, you'd get $1.97. Then when you add the quarter for the cork, it comes up to $2.22. Adding the olive oil can to that, then you'd get $3.81. Next, when you add the hinges, it comes to $4.01. Then adding the drain pipes, and the spoons, then you'd have $5.21. Finally, adding the cost of the spatulas, then the whole thing really does add up to a grand total of $6.00.
As hilarious as this skit is, the part where the "Six Dollar Man" goes wacko & falls apart used to creep me out as a preschooler. It just looked....wrong. But hey, it's nonetheless a funny skit! On the "Statler & Waldorf, From The Balcony" Internet series, there was a skit of two muppet guys pitching movies ideas, "How about 'The Six Million Dollar Baby'! YES! She's BACK & she's BIONIC!.....uh, no?" LMBO!
Also, I just caught Kermit's joke about the "revenuers". There's something to be said for a kid's show that can sneak in references to moonshining, and not have them cut. Brilliant.
"What do you expect for six dollars?" XD I never get tired of that line.

What do you expect for $6? It will take a lot more than $6 to fix your lab there, Doc.

Dr. Nobel Price is performed by Jerry Nelson because I can tell in the voice.
essentialeugene 2 years ago
@essentialeugene Wrong! Dr. Nobel Price was first performed by Brian Muehl and then in 1984-1988 Kevin Clash voiced Dr. Nobel Price.

I calculated it, and believe it or not, it really is $6.
Second-Hand Bowling Ball: $1.38
Scouring Pad: $.59
Cork: $.25
Olive Oil Can: $1.59
Door Hinge (2): $.20
Drain Pipe: $.50
Sppon (2): $.70
Spatulas: $.79
And all that comes up to exactly $6.

Well, let me calculate that part, too. The tax would be $.53. So all together, it's exactly $6.53.

Anyone try adding this up? I don't think it's exactly $6.00, well he also said plus tax so I don't know. The 50 cents a yard really threw me off.
dorourke105 2 years ago
I added it up, and it's not $6.00. If you don't include the tax, it's $7.50.
DanaAbel30 2 years ago
I was wondering myself if it added up to $6.00

The guys over at Sesame Street NEED to bring this back!
1. Teaches addition skills (they've always loved math)
2. Teaches money-managment skills (we NEED that now with our economy troubles)
3. Teaches just how much you get for your money ("What did you expect for six dollars?")

Me, too. Does anyone know what that explosion was at the end? Was that the robot, or was that the robot destroying the radio?
muppetfan33 3 years ago
I don't think the robot was fully exploding, I think something inside it set off a small explosion, which wound up short-circuting the robot.
