@dbrew2u To be honest, I have a great image in my head of what the 60s were like; the people, the music, the atmosphere of those times. Some people say things like, "ha, we didn't even have computers, your generation is lucky." This annoys me because they missed the whole point. My generation has mainly crap music (very seldom real), everybody has such a giant ego which creates an almost hostile atmosphere. You have to be a certain person to be accepted. So Im sorry I missed it(60s) too
@nostalgiahistoria67 What are you talking about? I have their box set of all three CDs/albums. The original sets, ot the crap that was released first (by Lorber) that was missing tracks (especially off this album - one of my favs in HS).)
apparently no lyrics for this song exists on the internet.. I googled some parts I could recognize by listening really carefully (and being baked also helped) but got no matches. Would be awesome if somebody posted lyrics here
I must say that this band seemed just slightly trite to me at that time. I don't care for poetry or excessive lyricism. But their music always drew me. I'm hearing it now for the first time since 1969 and it is really doing a number on me. It encapsulates the essence of the psychedelic era like bands like Fever Tree. I can't put it into words.
Never knew of Ultimate Spinach until I saw "Taking Woodstock" - Made me wish i'd had this music back in the late 70's, early 80's when I was dropping acid like it was candy. The van scene in the movie was very well done, I almost felt like I was tripping for a minute. Done a lot of dope in my life. Not proud of it, it's just a fact. But I have never regretted taking psychedelics.I wish every intelligent, well-rounded individual could try it once.
This was a little known album even when it was new.....It is a part of who I was in those days..........when my world was .........the pearl in an oyster.......:)
Holy God 8:45 -9:47 blows my mind. Rest of the song: best music I have EVER heard and I know it only since November 2009, in fact never heard about Spinach in Kindergarten. Thanks.
Cool...She probably wishes she was your age again.....back when this music was a way of life...and what a fun wonderful life it was....without shoes....with lots of hair, and a desire to climb into the song and live there awhile which your best escape mate..bit of a Alice and Wonderland reality.
I was there (The 60s). I'm sorry the rest of You missed it.

Awesome soundz from this great 60's band. It's a shame that all of their recordings are out-of-print and unavaliable on cd.
