It's coming, man. They just showed the game to their publisher about a week ago, so the game has to be complete. Have you even seen the new screenshots, wallpaper on the 3D Realms website?
Actually, they've been working on the current version of the game for about 4-5 years, I think. The main reason it's taken so long is because the previous engines they ran the game on couldn't handle what they wanted to put into the game. They are now satisfied with the heavily-modified Unreal 2 Engine and are just trying to finish it up and ship it. I'd expect a new trailer anytime now along with a release date of late 2009 or early 2010.
I wish I wold get that info so I don't go a rant next time. So now I think it's coming out about the same time Half-Life 3. Do you think we might see some trailers at E3 2009
They said they weren't doing E3 anymore with DNF. They really don't need to. All they have to do is upload it and the internet will melt! Well, they said you can expect media from the game 6-12 months before release. If we get a trailer soon, then we should be playing it this year! BTW, it's also being ported to 360.
Not sure if you heard or not, but it turns out Gearbox is now in charge of DNF. They plan on releasing it next year.

Yes I saw it. As I said they are trying to keep the media on them. I hope I'm wrong but it's been 13 years! How long does it take to make a game
