@MrSmearTheQueer hey, I'm 13 too, and I just bought a reissue at guitar center used (barely) for $600, and i was and still am obsessed with these too. I got it in blackguard blonde, and the only problem is that I have to wait 11 more days to pick her up. these days are gonna be hell.
I have one of those. I got it in 1975 when I was 17 and some kid had it in his basement in pieces in a rotted case. He said it was his uncle's, who had sanded the finish off of it and left it there. I gave the kid about $100 worth of drum hardware and put clear poly on it after sanding it nice and smooth. I had to replace the original pup for $40 and an old guitar tech had an old one from the 50's. It's getting a fret job now.
Wow. You are one lucky man to own that bass, sir. I'm only 13, but I have always been obsessed with those singlecoil P-Basses. Just beautiful tone, and beautiful lookin' basses. If only I had $11,000.
