I probably watched this video like a million times! And I still rocks!!!! Her voice is awasome and I can't wait for the born this way ball! GaGa I love yea! And @keira160bpm your f*cking right about those haters!
If lady gaga would produce a CD only whith songs in this pianostyle, I would buy it! I would BUY a cd for the first time in many many years...love you gaga fom germany <3
@urielwirthful This may be the second version she said she was going to release, a stripped down version, to raise money for charities. I really really really hope so.
She may not have the range of a Christine Aguilera or Mariah Carey, but she blows them out of the water with her emotional depth. I would love to hear her sing a straight-up, 'I'm in pain", blues number.
@khamsin59 Oh yeah, I forgot about that clip. Unfortunately, she had to sing with Yoko. I really believe that if there is still interest in a Janis Joplin biopic, Lady Gaga is their girl.
@bonn777 When I saw her sing "The Sun is Down" with Yoko, my first reaction was "My God, I've seen the second coming of Janis". The blues number just solidified that feeling. I thought I'd flashed back to the 60s all over again, because that's what the whole concert felt like to me...music the way we used to make it...a bare bones song structure and jam the hell out of it. In fact both those songs were just jammed, there was no rehearsal other than sound check
@bonn777 I've only seen Gaga live once, but yes I'm a Gaga-head. I live vicariously through YouTube :) I saw Janis several times, but I wasn't really a Deadhead tho I heard them at several rock festivals.
I guess so! Haha. It just sort of worked out that I've seen her three times. I was going to Lollapalooza anyway and she happened to be performing, and then my mom was interested, so we drove to Detroit (where we have family) and saw her there. And this way before they released tickets for here in Columbus. And then last minute I decided I have to see her again!
@inasexymood Who is this stupid verbose person who doesn't know the difference between a bluesy piano ballad and gospel. The original version is very much gospel rock inflected, and is choreographed in Alvin Ailey modern dance technique because he drew heavily from African-American experience and movement; Laurieann Gibson (who studied under Ailey) felt it best suited the gospel flavor of the song and lyrics. And she's right. It is perfect.
Lol at the end ! "this is a new record this is on born this way".. Love you mommy ! best version of born this way ! love when she sits down by the piano !
The expression on her face as she finished...so very soulful and serene. She knew she'd just given the performance of a lifetime with this song, this night, this place.
Im singing this for a human rights campaign in my school for my Country Malawi, because its illegal to be Gay here and its really sad that everyone can't love who they want to
This is why I respect Lady Gaga so much. She doesn't lip sync, doesn't perform all of her songs the same way. I've heard Born This Way played normally, acapella and now in an unplugged style.
@Jezza40 Since she probably wrote the song on piano in the first place, this may be what it originally sounded like before all the studio production. And as we all knew from the start, this does NOT sound like "Express Yourself"
I've seen her live 3 times. I've seen her at the piano. I saw her sing her out when I saw this vid. Just wondering if she hurt her mouth or something, because I care.
@eggyweggys im chill, just im reading all the comments and i feel "hey just enjoy the music, dont look hair in the egg, just saying" but im sorry if you feel hurt with my comment. yes i saw the mouth but i think its like she want to cry or something. Forget my english
@eggyweggys Lots of musicians make faces when they are very emotional about the song they're playing. She's done it before, will probably do it again. It was an incredibly intense performance and I'm not sure she really planned to perform it ahead of time.
It's just, I've followed this woman since '08 and that's ONE face I've never seen her make! I thought maybe something happened during the concert and she smacked her face or something :\
Obviously, it's just a new "thing" she's doing now. I like it.
@eggyweggys I've seen her do it once or twice before, always on an acoustic piano song. I think she was just so so so intensely involved in performing this piece that her mouth got carried away LOL
@khamsin59 I was there and it was awesome. I love to sing along to this song, but she made the song so powerful that I was pretty much choked up. It was a complete surprise that she did this.
@stgregoryj Same here. Choked up and tears rolling down my face. I had the feeling that she decided to play it right then and there; this is usually where she sings Speechless. She seemed very emotional from the post-Just Dance part where she talked to the one fan who had a brain tumor, and then she saw the married couple with the 'Captivated' sign and sang a bit of that song for the first time ever at a MB. She also really jammed the endings of 'The Fame' and 'Money Honey'
@faysalaaa1 It's fine if you don't like the version, maybe soulful bluesy ballads just don't move you. I wasn't crying because of the lyrics, I was crying because of the sheer power of this performance. The same was true of the people I went with, and the people around us. We couldn't stop talking about it after the show ended. We all knew we'd seen something very special and very emotional from her that night.
Please never take this off of YouTube. I always keep going back to this video, I just completely love it.
