You know, I expected Erza's name to be pronounced like "Urza." The name itself looks like wannabe English, so it makes sense to me that English pronunciation rules were applied. The Japanese applied Japanese pronunciation rules to the character names, even though many are English/English-like. This explains why "Gray" sounds like two syllables instead of one in Japanese. But if that doesn't bother us, then why should "Erza" be any different? Double standards much???

In fact, they took hilarious episodes like "Changeling" and "Next Generation" and made them even funnier!
I like this english dub then the animax dub. Animax made erza sound like a weird lady amn child trying to act tuff. this one is naturally perfect for erza like she is for Inner Moka from rosario vampire. good work Funimation. But I don't know about mirajane and Juvia. Their okey but Animax made them sound cute in their own way. Ahhh juvia sound so cute :D

He exposed himself to the Japanese dub, but is not able to distinguish between a good or bad performance in the English version because he's too uptight about the "integrity of the sub."
Quite honestly, English versions don't have to be nearly identical to subs, they just have to keep the same tone, performance, and heart (ie Yu Yu Hakusho).

Okay, I'll accept her voice. Colleen Clinkenbeard did a good job, I can definitely hear Hawkeye in the voice of Erza but those two are kind of similar. They're both strong women who are tough and independent but despite this toughness they can still act like women and that makes their character more interesting and enjoyable to watch.
i love this anime, i think i'm the only one saying this but the music sounds like something from naruto shippuden, if you listen too it closely, it sounds like the akatsuki's theme alittle bit!
Ok... Erza sounds scarier in English than in Japanese, as in you die of a heart attack when she looks at you. I really love the English dub of this series... Unfortunately, I'm like at episode 42 using the English subtitles, uploaded on both FUNimation's YouTube channel and on their official website (NO PIRACY HERE FOLKS)... so, I'm not to incline to restart the series all over again in English... yet.
Yeah I don't mind Funimation's choice for Erza's voice. I still prefer the Japanese one but that may be due to the fact that I've watched 103 Japanese Fairy Tail episodes. So I might be slightly more used to the Japanese voices.......

It's more like Galatea with a bit of Riza Hawkeye thrown in... Riza was a bit more stoic vs Galatea whom was far more witty, just as self confident, and domineering as she's portraying Erza.
Now the differences between Erza and Galatea seem to be Galatea sounded a bit older and slightly less humorous.

@immblueversion This isn't uncommon. RightStuf is FUNimation's official store, so they ship FUNi stuff early. Knowing this I pre-ordered Volume 1 and ended up getting it a month early. Even I was surprised, because when I did this during the time One Piece was coming out it would only be two weeks before release.

Okay, I'll accept her voice. Colleen Clinkenbeard did a good job, I can definitely hear Hawkeye in the voice of Erza but those two are kind of similar. They're both strong women who are tough and independent but despite this toughness they can still act like women and that makes their character more interesting and enjoyable to watch.

i love this anime, i think i'm the only one saying this but the music sounds like something from naruto shippuden, if you listen too it closely, it sounds like the akatsuki's theme alittle bit!

Ok... Erza sounds scarier in English than in Japanese, as in you die of a heart attack when she looks at you. I really love the English dub of this series... Unfortunately, I'm like at episode 42 using the English subtitles, uploaded on both FUNimation's YouTube channel and on their official website (NO PIRACY HERE FOLKS)... so, I'm not to incline to restart the series all over again in English... yet.

Yeah I don't mind Funimation's choice for Erza's voice. I still prefer the Japanese one but that may be due to the fact that I've watched 103 Japanese Fairy Tail episodes. So I might be slightly more used to the Japanese voices.......

Erza, is my favorite character in fairy tail, not only beautiful and has a really cool ability. Funimation is my favorite company in terms of dubbing. brilliant acquire by funimation

Soooooooooo Glad the DVD is commin to the UK too Fairy Tail is my fav anime now (sorry Naruto lol) i'm on like episode 76 & I love it can't to start the Edolas Arc AYE SIR & soon I'll be able to have It on my shelf so I can watch it in the best quality I don't really need to say this but everyone support the DVD of Fairy Tail and you never know we might even get some video games in the U.S and in the EU in the future if the sales do really well SUPPORT FAIRY TAIL AYE SIR!!!

It's more like Galatea with a bit of Riza Hawkeye thrown in... Riza was a bit more stoic vs Galatea whom was far more witty, just as self confident, and domineering as she's portraying Erza.
Now the differences between Erza and Galatea seem to be Galatea sounded a bit older and slightly less humorous.
Gotta give it up to Colleen she nailed this roll.

@Solatify No in the Japanese one its pronounced Erza. In the English one they pronounce it Urza. It ticks me off though because I love how its pronounced in Japanese and hate how its pronounced in English.

@FlashX212 Twelve. There will be a total of four, each with twelve episodes and thus covering all of season 1.
If season 2 is to be licensed and distributed by Funi, these first four DVDs must sell really well (or at least the first DVD, which seems to be doing pretty well in terms of sales).

But seriously, was the DVD leaked this early? Does this mean that someone, somewhere who has nothing to do with the actual making of the dub has heard the dubbed version of episodes 1-12?

@immblueversion This isn't uncommon. RightStuf is FUNimation's official store, so they ship FUNi stuff early. Knowing this I pre-ordered Volume 1 and ended up getting it a month early. Even I was surprised, because when I did this during the time One Piece was coming out it would only be two weeks before release.
