It's so hard to pin down why RW is so great...there are no surface elements to differentiate them from other heavy metal acts. But their flow is just so amazing, and they have an atmosphere that other bands just totally miss. This song gives me an adrenaline rush and makes me want to go horseback riding - how many other bands can do that?

@StupidProverb It's because they have balls in their choruses and verses but still remain catchy and amazing. Things that lots of new metal bands are lacking. Also atmosphere, you are right. Sometimes their songs sound similar to one another but even so, they still manage to pull it off convincingly, nine times out of ten.

@StupidProverb best description of Running Wild i have ever read-i think in the 80s this was the album i was always looking for- Hail Rolf for such a thing--now if youtube would stop jacking up the audio on videos- Black Hand Inn video posts seem to miss the depth of the sound big time- like its being played throw a funnel or something

easily! no contest! i´m in metal since 1982 and no other band can compete with running wild. if someone asks you what heavy metal is all about... you must play the whole black hand inn and after that there are no questions left. ;) this band is so fuckin epic but totally underrated. it´s a shame. this is oldschool metal as it´s best!!! running wild forever!
