  • 3:57 to 4:07 leaves me in complete awe everytime.

  • He looks like napolitan John Malkovich.

  • i definitely suspect LSD had a part in writing this song. that was amazing.

  • @ShinyPubes not at all. Music like this is pulled from a greater source. Most pure talent doesn't require drugs

  • type in "rainy mood" in the youtube search bar. Then play this with it

  • @67chevy7 Watch other videos featuring Sergio Altamura and then copy somebody elses comment.

  • @rexasul just thought i would spread the word, and allow people to experience how good it sounds mixed with the background rainy music.

  • He should write for Final Fantasy games.

  • I need to lay down in bed and fall asleep with this song, ( in a good sense) it would be awesome!

  • Italian Sigur Ros;)

  • tuning cgdgcd jus in case no one knows

  • awesome. i thought he might end the song by pulling out a chainsaw and cutting the guitar in half.

  • best song i ve ever heard in my life!

    -Tränen laufen über meine Wangen-

  • The perfect song for the end of the world

  • i can't close ff because of this song :(

  • i wanna play zelda now

  • 73 people were aiming for the like button and missed

  • best sounds that came out of my speakers..

anybody got any tabs or a lesson??

  • ive never been so infuriated by the quiet hum of my computer....

  • Musical frisson!

  • can someone tell me how the "magnetic pick" he uses to create those continuous sounds is called ? Thanks

  • @ChilLmatiC1234 If you're talking about the thing he pulls out at 4:21, it's a cpu fan, I'd say it's about an 80 mm fan. The fan blades hit the strings while circulating.

  • @bloodsuckingflea Nah man, the blades aren't hitting the strings. Magnetic field from the fan motor is causing resonance in the strings is the only thing I can figure. I don't see a pickup on his guitar, it looks like it's mic'd, so I'd actually have to test this.

  • @TheBruceLeeRoy83 I guess I should be more specific. It looks like something is attached to the blades. If you look at his left shoulder a little bit after he pulls out the contraption, you'll see something that looks of a white color whipping around and around. It's quite faint, but there. You'll have to maximize the video to see it, though.

He has something in the bridge side of his sound hole up a little bit from the center. Not sure what it is, but could be part of a pick up system.

  • @TheBruceLeeRoy83 there's a soundhole pickup, I think the thing on the bridge side of the soundhole is a preamp control

  • Grande Sergio!

  • 5:38

This is what roadworks sound like in heaven

  • woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow

  • sounds great

  • i cannot imagine how someone can click on the dislike button

  • Is he also playing with his pinky? O _ O

  • @SuperRambo111 I didn't notice a part where he did, but it's not impossible...or even the most impressive thing he's done here.

  • What a genious

  • Amazing!

  • omg!

  • Lot of talent, may the Lord allow you to continue sharing it with today's and future generations.

  • This song made me cry and im a guy :*)****

  • @Andy40004 Fag.

  • @PhilGerb93 dude...i am not a fag, im just a normal guy who likes a lot this song... have nice day :)

  • @Andy40004 No, pretty sure you're a fag.

  • @gregg441 ahh.... what eves... belive what crap you want... :P

  • 3:06 is the exact melody from a Metroid theme. lol

  • This man is offically my favorite musician.

  • I'm very much in love with my girlfriend, and I think this song captures every feeling i have for her through music. Sergio, you are one of the most free-thinking artists I've ever heard. I take my hat off to you on so many levels.

  • Mind officially blown when he broke out the computer fan.

  • Oh yeah, wtf is the pink thing in the sound hole?

  • How does such a great sound come out of a raggedy-ass guitar? Oh yeah, Sergio is playing it! XD

  • Comment removed

  • ending has a very orchestrated feel like m83

  • Is that a PC cooler?

  • That Martin has seen it's better days, but I think that it has gone through some hell to show us a little bit of heaven.

  • @Spencerianism *gag*

  • genius is an understatement

  • meh?

  • this song peaks... an leaves me wanting the end to go on for just another 20 seconds... wow... amazing...

  • WOOOOOOOOW

  • THIS

  • Dude, he used a computer fan to get a kind of tremolo/ebow effect. SICK!

And is that a RADIO??? at the end?

  • This video should not have an ending.

  • @Anouss10 Definitely yeah...

  • It's not a guitar when Sergio plays it... it's something else entirely. I love how he uses electronics to make new sounds, but he applies it all in a very hands-on way, always using the guitar as the vessel through which the sound is made. It makes the performance really raw and personal, while still using innovative ways to make new sounds.

  • that what i wanna hear on my way to heaven

  • cannot get enough of this song! the candyrat records playlist has become a daily routine when studying.. but whenever this song comes on i just stop working. its too good!

  • anyone have any idea what the tape recorder is actually saying? would be interesting.

  • @joohj1187 I'm just guessing that it is some random radio station

  • Wow

  • You're just.. amazing!

  • What the junk is that electric thing toward the end?

  • @Luudite its a tape recorder. he has a mic on his guitar.

  • @Luudite Yeah, I saw that one come up right as I hit "post". I figured the very last thing was a tape player. But before that, the black thing with a cord on it?

  • @Luudite my best guess is that it's a small electric fan that spins and "picks" the strings. He clearly isn't picking any of the strings so it's not as if the fan is distorting the noise created by the reverberating string.

  • @joohj1187 I think he increases the pickups strength by emiting that coil's current above the strings. So by just touching the strings on a certain fret it can pick it up easier? crazyy

  • @Luudite it's a fan from a computer, with several of the blades broken it looks like. no idea where he gets his ideas from, but it sounds great so i ain't complaining :D

  • what. the. hell. that was amazing.

  • i just unknowingly stuck shove a pin into my gums, why it was in mouth mouth in the first place is a mystery to me

  • There are guitarists and then there is Sergio.

  • I just found this guy through CandyRat. Simply amazing and exactly the style I aspire to be. Thank you

  • future post rock

  • That guitar looks as though it has been through as much as he has. Probably why he hasn't bought a new one. They grew together. Hence the beautiful music

  • Beautiful. Kinda funny how the intro sounds like Staind - Tangled up in you.

  • MARTIN D28...maybe

  • este tipo puede hacerme llorar, siempre

  • which guitar is this ????

  • HEAVEN.........

  • even the name is so fucking cool.... c'mon... Aria Meccanica? or are you gonna tell me it doesn't sounds awesome? ..

  • @fernfung0327 Aria Meccanica is the name of the album his name is Sergio Altamura but you should check the album out i got it when i first her about him 3 years ago

  • far too complex for my liking, no disrespect and im not hating or anything just i prefer the simplicity of the guitar alone without the gadgets and additions

  • Amazing.. simply.. amazing..

  • Dieses Lied ist so erstaunlich!!!

  • bellissimo, mi piacerebbe suonare in questo modo.....complimenti!

  • Freaking OP

  • so sad it took him only 14 seconds to loop bass line :(

  • send this to final fantasy people

    you will make money

    many, many money

  • @GuyMcpersonLol

    NO! dont send it

    art is better than money

It cant be just a song in the background

  • @GuyMcpersonLol much money *

  • @GuyMcpersonLol So true.

It reaches the emotional intensity of those kind of songs.

  • It's a shame that guys like him don't become famous as they deserve.

You're more than an artist, sir Altamura, you're an unreserved human being.

    Deep respect.

  • 67 people have their computers upside down

  • Stunningly beautiful

  • Is this wat it sounds like when jesus takes a dump???

  • Sergio don't ever give up your drug addiction Brother, ever lol...

  • @YSBCITTAR you dont need drugs to be creative!

  • @oOMelomaniacOo it's laments me, that u have no clue what drugs are.

  • @xsweetx6 In my life a have used all kinds of drugs and i can tell you that i can be more creative and think clearer without drugs than with it!

  • @oOMelomaniacOo Depends on the drug, Opium and Alcohol fuck your ability to feel. But LSD and many other hallucinogens are also stimulates. They boost your ability to feel and perceive.

  • @molomono Have done hallucinogens to and they also gradually get you out of touch with reality. It may seem like you are better off because it feels good and you think way differently, but in the end when you don`t have it you are just you and you still have to make it on your own without it.

  • @oOMelomaniacOo That's when you take large doses.

But small doses of LSD help you concentrate with minimal hallucinogenic side effects. Shrooms are something different. That won't help worth jack.

I'm not saying all drugs do, but some actually do help. :P

  • i almost shit myself when he used the radio

  • super

  • man y'all completely miss the point. The people who listen to pop music arent musicains and arent interested in musical technique etc, hell even the pop "musicians" dont listen to pop, is a money maker, end of story.

  • It's so damn... sweet... soothing I can't stop replaying it! Thanks candy rat

  • it's so sad, and so sweet reminds me of what it's like to lose a loved one but to not be sad forever and remeber what amazing times you had with them while they where here with you on this earth.

  • @windowgaser Oddly enough, I also feel that way about this piece.

  • this is hypnotizing

  • I've got no idea what to say...that grand finale, and the beautiful opening were utter perfection! How does the music that is characterised as 'popular' nowadays get to that place with the likes of this about? Incredible, sir. Incredible!

  • this is absolutely incredibly beautiful, its such an ingenious use of the acoustic guitar. My hat is off to you. Trust candyrat to bring the best talent around.

  • it started with a tender touch...

a soft kiss on the cheek...

    and a loving no-care-in-the world-embrace...

then the kisses become longer... and deeper...

the hands explore along with increasing body-contact ...

then she reaches for the whip...

  • no.....just no.

  • I pity the guitar. Look at how much hardship it had to go through!

  • Thumbs up if you watched the playlist all the way through

  • Refreshing ,creative ,original ,brilliant need i say more......

  • Amazing.

  • now this is what it sounds like when doves cry...

  • I listen this one every single day. dragon fly too, every

  • I've been watching this for quite a while..never ceases to amaze me how beautiful this is. Really makes you think..

  • what is the small kind of pickup that he uses??

  • This is beautiful!

  • He truly transforms one guitar into an entire orchestra.. Amazing!! would love the tuning for this one, and a sweet looping pedal like his.. and all his gadgets.. :(

  • Tuning pleeeeease? Though on the other hand, I could never dream of covering all of this, but I would really like to try the main intro riff thing, Anyone tried and/or found the tuning?

  • tuning cgdgcd. and to learn it jus watch his fingers. pretty simple song to learn if your a good fingerpicker.

  • All that was missing was the horn/woodwind section....dude composed a complete orchestral piece.Just amazing work. Thank you.

  • Speechless.

  • Beatiful composition...it touched my heart...

  • Beatiful composition...it touch my heart...

  • this song makes you think about your life in a whole new respect

  • Like Mogwai, God Speed You Black Emperor and Sigur Ros all rolled into an acoustic. Gear.

  • what is the tunning!?!?!

  • people say that bob marley smoked a lot of marijuana at his time, but next to this man, bob marley is a fucking cristian!! how much narcotic his guy had to consume to write this?!?!?!?!??!

  • @vicktorium Bob Marley was a Christian. Baptized into the Ethiopian Tawehido Church

  • @vicktorium

I don't know about you, but if I were an artist and people said I could only compose something under the effect of drugs, I'd be very ofended. =\

  • @vicktorium why do it need to consume any drugs for making beautiful music? i dont get it why ppl think of this.

  • @vicktorium that is a stupid comment.

  • wow...

  • I want this song to be playing on my death day.

  • Every time I listen to this song I'm compelled to forget everything else I'm doing because it's like no mater how many times I play it it's like hearing it for the first time. And it's just too creatively incredible to not want to also watch him play it..

  • Probably the most beautiful songs I will ever listen to and most likely the most beautiful song less than half of the world will ever listen to.......random question does anyone notice how the beginning sounds like teenager by deftones?

  • Sergio has managed to capture both the beauty and the sadness that comes with pure, 100%, unadulterated genius!

  • I gotta shit after this one! Damn...

  • the genius......

  • 2:06 look ma' no hands!

  • man that guitar got raped by his great talent.

  • @Trcls No it didn't, it gave it's consent

  • @Trcls No it was consensual.

  • I don't think that I've already got so many shivers in just 10 minutes..

    Thank you man.

  • R U Kidding ME

  • What forbidden land did I just travel to?

  • @fmatt001 The amazing land of Sergio, my friend.

  • this is the most beautiful sound ive ever heard

  • Put a keep are you

  • I wouldnt say Sergio is the most talented candyrat artist, not even kinda. But he's definately one of the most creative.

  • now thats what I call original

  • what the hell do u smoke i'm at awe

  • Is it possible for any of you having a superhuman ear precision to hear what it says on his radio?

  • che inguacchio

  • listening to these with noise canceling sennheiser headphones...the experience is just incredible.

  • @pinoixboi I'm listening through Sennheiser's too!

  • @Nezrimo

amazing on how the clarity is and how much you can hear the miniscule details huh? i love it

  • più lo ascolto e più mi piace....

    bello e particolare

  • This is how one man and a seemingly random assortment of devices can instil beauty into our sick sad little world.

  • @Golzernurf Yeah man for real lol ha ha

  • I'll say it in my and Sergio's language... bellissimo!

  • is that an electric drill?!!! wow

  • @2funk2bpunk I don't know, but you can get a similar sound with one of those small handheld battery powered fans.

  • this song conjures the deepest nostalgic emotions in me and cleanses my mind

    everything is a blur

    it is fucking beautiful

  • this litle thought behind it a great thing!

  • Wtf? Anyone who can play a guitar with a bow and gets away with it deserves props.

  • ok, normally I don't ask this on youtube cause it's anoying BUT....

does anyone has the tabs for the beginning melody??? I searched the whole damn net and I can't find it, in fact, I can't find any tabs from the master here...

or if someone could just help me with the tuning, that would be a great help.

    thx

  • @seppie1203 Only guessing but I'd say the tuning would be in Open D Minor. (or some other open tuning)

You could always do it the slow way and watch where he plays and tune to that note for each string...

  • @Shredmastakaos & @ Jazzevens, thnx a lot for the advice, I'll be having some fun tomorrow =)
