My guess is that the only impact on the overall game was from getting into that team's head and providing an excuse for losing.

Not sure why everyone thinks it was a bad call. In that situation the runner is required to run in foul territory, which the video strongly indicates he did not, hence the runner interfered wit the thrown ball, and was correctly judged "out".

Although, they DO have a foul line, which is the boundary of the runner's lane to the inside. The guy was straddling the foul line, therefore he was outside the runner's lane. No box needed to be drawn to call that.

Not sure why everyone thinks it was a bad call. In that situation the runner is required to run in foul territory, which the video strongly indicates he did not, hence the runner interfered wit the thrown ball, and was correctly judged "out".
