I recommend that you try reading The History of the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire written by English historian Edward Gibbon in its entirety. Although economics contributed to the fall of the empire it was not the major reason. There were many reasons that contributed to its fall most of these reasons can be lumped into one subject. What we call today Liberalism/Socialism.

Actually US had more casualties than the UK but thats not anything good, nor does it prove anything. And the USSR did not fight Italy..And you want to talk about coming in late? US fought Japan way longer than the USSR did.. they came in, in April 1945 Japanese surrendered 4 months later in August. US had rendered the Japanese basically incapable of waging war by the time the Soviets decided to join in..

The russian territory itself was "attacking" the Germans. the further they went into Russia the colder it got, and they had to fight soldiers who LIVED there. Plus they used the "scorched earth" tactic which didn't make it easier.. But if UK and US didn't join USSR wouldn't have been a superpower in my opinion..

That being said to contend that the only or even main reason for the fall of the Roman Empire was inflation and bankruptcy in revisionist history and not historical accurate. There were many reasons combined that contributed to the fall of the Roman Empire.

I recommend that you try reading The History of the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire written by English historian Edward Gibbon in its entirety. Although economics contributed to the fall of the empire it was not the major reason. There were many reasons that contributed to its fall most of these reasons can be lumped into one subject. What we call today Liberalism/Socialism.
