  • Oh and the music sounds good too, I think their music is sort of like the Ramones combined with Reverend Horton Heat.

  • I think I'm speechless, I used to think Barry Andrews was a lively keyboard player since I saw a video of XTC playing Neon Shuffle, Barry moved his piano from his side of the stage to mid stage while jumping around, Pounding the keys. But this... I know the singer isn't really playing the keyboard so much as he's moving it around but holy moly.

  • Fucking love these guys. They are tops.Seen em live...best live show ever, and the tunes to back it?Does it get better than that?

  • I like how he aimlessly drags the organ all over the stage.

  • Please don't squeeze the Charmin.

  • this band is fucking asome.

  • these guys are brilliant.

  • it sounds like a mix of surf/rockabilly/punk/ pychobilly, i like it!

  • If you do not understand that this is rock and roll then you dont know rock and roll

  • There sure is alot of bitching in the comments over one goodtime video!

  • @trubblemuffin

seriously. what the fuck is with all the bitching in the comments?

it's a bunch of mummies playing raw kickass shit. Just enjoy it, there doesn't need to be anything deeper than what you're seeing.

  • @MenkeriosAndemicael that's the spirit, bro. they blew me up with the mummy thing and their crazy performance

  • @MenkeriosAndemicael exactly! this is fucking funny/awesome as fuck!!! RRAW!!!

  • @raymar316 just like you, eh?

  • @raymar316 They probably went back to their apartments and then, in the morning, went to work. But yes, they probably did take the outfits off.

What do you have against The Mummies, eh? And what does anything have to do with anarchy?

  • @bobbydowns Isn't that what this whole charade is about? The "we're-too-cool-to-care-about-anything-so-fuck-you-if-you-don't-like-it" mentality. I find they're much better bullshit artists than musicians. But, hey, to each his own.

  • @raymar316 I don't think you've got a firm grasp on anarchism or the sound these guys are going for. And if you really believed "to each his own", I don't think you'd devote so much time lighting up the comment sections of this vid or Here Come The Mummies. You're the "bullshit artist" in this "charade".

  • Oh wait, they're in NYC in this video. They probably crashed at Billy and MIriam's (from the A-Bones).

  • @raymar316 No, they walked around in it for the next three days so they could enjoy the weather.

  • @raymar316 chingonesssssssssssssssssss estos cabronesss

  • @raymar316 They aint supposed to be anarchists, this is garage-punk which is well different from the likes of crass and other so-called "anarcho-punk" bands. Just rock'n'roll, noise and sheer energy.

    Budget-rock for life mate!

  • @gloubloux Actually, I do agree with you. Finally, someone that makes sense!

  • @raymar316 I think my Cat has worms, how do I tell?

  • @raymar316 Real anarchists wear mummy costumes 24/7

  • @raymar316

Actually they've been doing this crazy shit for over 20 years and they're not trust fund babies, so shut yer festering cake hole. People who don't know shit should have their mouths stitched up, and I got a girl scout patch that says I'm just the bitch to do it, asshole!

  • @raymar316 Shut the fuck up!

  • I think it's hysterical how metalhead twats can't keep their fucking mouths shut about music they don't like and think the world gives a shit about their opinion.

  • I think it's hysterical that people would bother to listen to full grown adults play their instruments as well as children who are first learning for the sake of jumping around. What a funny world, right?

  • it's a giant dump on the heads of asperger prog nerds

  • God forbid musicians choose to play their instruments half-way proficiently. "This brick layer is such a talented guy! The bricks are barely uniform and aren't air-tight. Screw those guys who take their jobs seriously, what nerds."

  • @lastdayinsin3

    .. pound sand prude

and they can play their instruments, you're trying to look smart but you just sound ignorant

  • Comment removed

  • idunno about ya'll but this is the shit!

  • unos genios de la vida. el mundo no se da cuenta

  • one of my fave 'band'aged guys!

  • the mummies rule just to interject

  • Yes, it does matter. I would be sorely pissed if I paid money to see a band that purposefully put their image before their sound. Would you pay to see me play my guitar badly or buy an album of it, or would I need to dress up first and say it was intentional?

  • CAGUENSE DE CALOR LOS TONTOS CULIAOS

  • The real meaning of music is what "I" hear, not what they play.......i hear great ROCKNROLL here, or call it the way u want....doesn't matter.....i'm gonna dance and u can't do anything bout this fact ........... ;) ;) ;)

  • Well, perhaps you and your elitism could spend more time listening to music you enjoy instead of trolling other videos?

  • This is what Rock n Roll is all about, if Rock n Roll is all about not being able to play your instruments coherently. Good job guys.

  • @lastdayinsin3 could you play this better?

  • Yes, I can actually. I bet most 3rd year guitarists could as well. I'm not going to say that I could shred these guys under the table, or that I'm god's gift to guitarists, but I, along with most guitarists, can at least play simple power chords without attempting to tremolo-pick the entire 6 strings of the instrument, making it sound like mud. I hope The Mummies are better musicians when they aren't jumping around like twats, I'd be very surprised if this is the best they have to offer.

  • @lastdayinsin3 The techinc isn't the point. It's about the attitude; which these guys posses in spades. It's attitudes like yours that make Rush and prog fans such a pain in the ass at parties.

  • I've seen children play ac/dc songs with all the heart and attitude they can muster, but it doesn't mean the tune sounds any better. Effort and feeling doesn't count for much when it's barely communicated. It's like listening to a public speaker who has a lisp.

  • @lastdayinsin3 I've also heard technically proficient musicians ruin a song by playing to perfectly. There are few things more painful than hearing some "classically trained" singer performing "Lewis Lewis" with perfect diction.

an even better example are all these "rock and roll musical reviews" that are so popular right now. Across The Universe was a nightmare to me hearing Beatles songs as show tunes is a total suck experience. When done that way it's overcooked and bland.

  • Oh don't get me wrong, I completely agree with you on that topic. But I see that as one side of the spectrum, attempting to replace feeling with proficiency, while I see The Mummies in this performance as the other side of the spectrum, attempting to mask a lack of instrumental proficiency/skill with feeling. I feel that both extremes are musicians being lazy in their own way.

  • @lastdayinsin3 I think the organ player's chest sums it up best:

  • @lastdayinsin3 youre really fighting a losing battle man, this band had more fun and success then you ever will with your boring (and empty) "musician" snob mentality.. nothing you say will change any mummies fan's opinion (which is they were amazing in anything they did) so go back to working at guitar center....

  • @lastdayinsin3

Oh horseshit, you're too technical yet you're not very good at it.

effort and feeling is conveyed when I slam my strings, the amp responds differently and the note goes sharp...you can hear those things and it's conveyed as intensity...also they were playing before an audience,if it were just about the sonics there'd be no need to see bands....you are missing out and making yourself look like an prudish bore.

  • @lastdayinsin3 The Mummies are advanced shit, didn't you hear all the key changes and start-stop rhythms?

  • @MrDocCorbinDart don't sweat it man. She probably doesn't get Captain Beefheart either.

  • @lastdayinsin3 hectic, mayhem, uncontrollable urge, raw, bad, unsafe.. or you can sit in a chair at a stadium with 60,000 other pop fans and eat your ice cream in a well formed manner.. U are who u is! i aint knockin ya man, but u are who u is!

  • Maybe you should read my other comments about this subject before you try and call me a pop fan. I'd much rather have my hectic, unsafe bands be able to play their instruments (and I'm sure the poster is tired of me saying the same shit haha). I'll stick to Nile, Necrophagist, Opeth, Dying Fetus, and the like if I want hectic mayhem.

  • @lastdayinsin3 you seem very serious about your mayhem, i told ya i wasn't knockin ya. The point was rocknroll has no rules, no posers, i take it you disgree, its cool, i dont care. you like mayhem but you like it played professionally, that doesn't, of course make any fuckin sense at all.. !

  • @lastdayinsin3 fuck off

  • @lastdayinsin3

Pretty sure they're all playing quite well except the keyboard player, who clearly doesn't give one solitary fuck.

  • @lastdayinsin3 Well, there are millions of bands that "can" play their instruments, but they still make gay music. I think this type of music is for the wild rock and roll crowds and not the soccer mom generic music fans that listen to overproduced pop that has no meaning and to which they don't have to actually pay attention to the lyrics and melody.

  • @lastdayinsin3 fag.

  • @lastdayinsin3 If you don't like it don't watch it, simple as geometry..

  • I'll stick to Progressive/Metal, I'd rather have my musicians be able to adequately play their instruments.

  • @lastdayinsin3 post a vid of you playing this better...make it all progressive and shred all over it...just dying to see it

  • You wouldn't be pissed off if you shelled out cash to see a bunch of guys, pawning themselves as musicians, jump around to the point that they can barely play simple power chords? Like I said, I'll stick to listening to actual professionals.

  • @lastdayinsin3 for someone who finds their playing offensive, you seem to keep coming back here a lot.

  • Oh trust me, I pause it asap. I just love the comments haha

  • Go, Mummies.

It's a good thing that mummies have eternal life, after they exit from their pyramids. So these mummies will live, and perform, forever.

  • just wish someone would re-release "the mummies play their own records" at some point. had it in vinyl, lent it out, never got it back. this IS rock and roll. any f**k that disagrees probably owns too many bon jovi records

  • @mcandy1974 I'm glad I made a lot of cassettes of my Mummies vinyl. Those tapes always grew legs and walked away. So I can relate. My Mummies records never left my sight when they left my house. Especially my copy of Party at Steve's House which had most of my fellow collector friends drooling at the time.

  • ...don't know what i stumbled into but it just made my favorites list.

  • these cat's are crazy.

  • If they made a movie about the mummies,I'd pay three or four dollars to see it.

  • @skeletorment666 which is all the more it should cost. BUDGET ROCK FOREVER!!!

  • @BognarRegis

budget rock, when Garage just isn't quite enough of a box to shove it in.

budget rock beats budget talent any-day

  • @skeletorment666 fuckin great comment! pmsl! i'd come with ya lol...

  • @skeletorment666

you're generous. i'd pay a dollar at best.

What do they need money for anyway??? they're mummies!!!

and not the 'stay at home' variety either..

  • This was in December 28, of 1991, do you belive they bloke up 3 days later after in the New Year's Day of 1992?!

  • They played at my high school prom.

  • what types of guitars are those? they're sick

  • you would have thought in the year 2010 there would be a lot of punk bands along these lines, not clones, just the same spirit. whatever I'm crazy

  • gotta love the mummies!

  • FUCK YOU

  • go mummies go!

  • this is what rock & roll is all about

  • Dig this band! Groovy mate!

  • This is the true spirit of rip-snorting rock and roll in the way it was intended: raw, reckless, sloppy and spontaneous. In other words, the polar opposite of the goateed,po-faced Nickelback type of pompous douchebags that are supposed to be "Rock" bands in these bleak times we live in...

  • @vonsmitty1313 ..yep yep

  • @vonsmitty1313 So true buddy

  • @vonsmitty1313 godDAMNit I hate fucking Nickelback...

  • @vonsmitty1313

that's why they be called "Rock" and not Rock n Roll, they don't deserve the full title. They tried to buy it though, but we all know RnR is not for sale,

  • Dangerous, spastic living dead.

  • ..fuck yea.

  • Ok, first understand the circumstances of the band. It's sloppy, messy and snotty on purpose. It's punk. It's budget rock. They have shitty old style gear, even when it comes to recording. I guess you could make the argument that they wouldn't get as far as they did if they didn't dress up, but you have to take everything into context to enjoy it the way your supposed to. The Mummies rock.

  • Dude, even their shtick is the cheapest shtick humanly possible - wrap ourselves in toilet paper. Which just makes it rule more.

  • Go Mummies!

  • so tough

  • The Mummies fuckin rocks

  • fuck the mummies!

  • some people just don't get it.

  • I second that

  • @BognarRegis 6 people, so far!

  • @BognarRegis those some people are idiots :)

  • Comment removed

  • @ratboycom I think you missed my point. I wasn't talking about the mummies.

  • @phurphy Sorry guy, for some reason I thought you were the same guy shitting on the Mummies as above.

  • GENITALS.

  • hahaha, the mummies dont give a fuck about "see what i can do" i bet

    fuck the way you think!

  • This guy's just upset because Trent kicked his ass off the stage in Spain last October.

  • You do realize this was made back in 1991? You know, probably before you were born.

  • Wrong their.

  • @squonk8455 The Mummies are probably the best garage rock band in history. They're garage rock incarnate. Fucking punk rock, pure music. Pure rock and roll.
