  • do you people even realize who this a hole is??? he's the guy who kidnapped and raped everyones childhood (includeing mine) into feeble submission. He stifled freedom as a part of his colonization of a non-deviating robotic human workforce. dead men walking!!!! moving meat!!!!! open your eyes have they taken those too!!!! oh you poor brainwashed sots

  • This "a hole" is someone who is misinterpreted by people like you who are looking for someone to blame. a) he has had very little influence in the everyday practices of schools today - he advocated child centered learning, but, at least here in the U.S. we are much more cencerned with the structure and order that is associated with traditional education. where did you get this impression of JD?

  • You have it totally backwards. He is not responsible for any of this. Dewey favored progressivism, what your thinking of is more closely related to essentialism.

abiddle726 pretty much has the right idea. Dewey favored learning adapted to the students, using methods they could easily apply to daily life. Such as using cooking classes to teach measurements and fractions, instead of just sitting in a chair.

Progressivism isn't practiced today because of ceritain politacal movements.

  • Sort of.

If you search "John Dewey" at Creative Quotations you will find sources for quotations at the bottom of each page. However, those sources are usually quotations books not the original published source.

  • Do you have references for these quotes ?

    Much appreciated !!
