Some music is great, no matter what ethnicity the artist is. I do find in the U.S. though, if an artists is Caucasian it makes them an amazing artist. I asked a friend one night "I want to get into more punk, who do you recommend," and he put me on to this band. When I found out that they played reggae I was intrigued, when I heard this song I was hooked.
Music made for the losers and throwbacks??? Really?? Because the Bad Brains started off as being fairly prolific jazz & fusion artists and from the technical ability that they gained from this it transferred into them being incredibly adept at playing "breakneck speed" punk rock, as well as incorporating the intricate time signatures they are famous for not to mention the influence they had on a lot of artists from many different backgrounds. I have been a follower for 26 years.
Wasn't there at the time, from Holland and 27, but this music spoke to me when I was 13. And i come from a disfuctional family, kicked out on the streets at an age of 13, started squatting doing drugs, got into hardcore-punk.And it saved my life. So for me It's music made for people like me. Losers and throwbacks. But everyone has a different opinion about bands and music, that's what keeps it interseting. Much love and respect from Holland.
Hi--Thx for sharing your story and I can see where you are coming from--my family life and life on my own has been hellish too. I'd like to say that I commend you for being a true survivor and using this music as a means of helping to save your life, it did for me too among many other musicians and other forms of art and spirituality. Music made for the losers and throwbacks??? Really?? Because the Bad Brains started off as being fairly prolific jazz & fusion artists and from the technical ability that they gained from this it transferred into them being incredibly adept at playing "breakneck speed" punk rock, as well as incorporating the intricate time signatures they are famous for not to mention the influence they had on a lot of artists from many different backgrounds. I have been a follower for 26 years.

Wasn't there at the time, from Holland and 27, but this music spoke to me when I was 13. And i come from a disfuctional family, kicked out on the streets at an age of 13, started squatting doing drugs, got into hardcore-punk.And it saved my life. So for me It's music made for people like me. Losers and throwbacks. But everyone has a different opinion about bands and music, that's what keeps it interseting. Much love and respect from Holland.
