I do think it's a bit out there but I guess looking at it, his campaign and winning was a huge shift in America and the world view upon our nation. First black president, very high young voter turnout, interest in politics again. Symbolically Obama represented a change in politics itself. And while we may not all be pleased with his performance now, he is still the embodiment of the end of Reagan politics and a new age sort of deal.

well here's 5 out of 5 garden salads with Roquefort dressing (or was that salad gardens?). I didn't see any large chunks of lunar surface outside this morning, but it did rain overnight and so they might have been washed away.

OMFG. I'm in disbelief. This is the biggest SLAP in the face to all the the people in the world actually working towards legitimate PEACE. Alfred Nobel is rolling over in his grave. For anyone who's not familiar with Alfred's story I encourage to read up on it. I can't imagine the feelings of people who have donated their lives to this cause. A true disgrace, to the prestige and legitimacy of this award. If you recognize and admit he's done nothing to deserve it, call for it's prompt return.

Considering that McCain wanted us to be in Iraq for 100 years, and that it looked like we were going to invade Iran, to shift the war to ramp-down mode has been remarkable, to say the least. I was blindsided by the Nobel peace prize going to Barack, but it is good to see the US being seen in a better light. We really are good people, but we often ote for assholes!

If we are hated, it will affect trade (which we need), and it will affect whether the world will mount a full-scale attack on us, just to "liberate" us like we do in the Muslim world (but only the ones with oil).

It is true that much of our manufacturing has been "outsourced", a fancy word for sent out of the country, but healthy trade has always been the backbone of all economies of all countries. It would be nice to have plenty of US goods and services, but corporate greed has stopped that.
