AZ was the mvp of the firm.he brought is A game on every trakl.the album would of been classic if only nas,AZ & foxy brown did every song with dr dre & primo produceing the whole album.
LOL @ People who thinks this album was a flop....easily one of the best albums that year, production wise, lyrics, concepts, people are wildin, as far as mafioso raps are concerned all rappers do that...they just happened to do an album around it an it worked
@MobHeataEnt Everybody did that back then. This was the Mafioso rap era. Remember when Wu-Tang was calling themselves Wu Gambinos? Biggie was calling himself Frank White. They all was into that.
Unfortunately, Nature came in on the tail end of a beef between Cormega and Nas. And I remember when I bought the album I wasn't really expecting Nature to impress me. I was pleasantly surprised when I heard him, though. And through the duration of the album Nature ended up being my favorite. And I always felt that his career was crushed by his association with The Firm. I believe if he would have came out as a solo MC, he would have gone further.
@TheFunkologist I think what messed the album up was people expected it to be alot more street because when those 4 were on there street shit they were unstoppable. When they tried to cater to the commercial world(1997 everybody was doing it) It seemed to generic. But still was a solid album. Just not a classic.
@MrFireforreal If the album included 'Fist Full of Dollaz', 'Everyday Thang' and '4 In The Morning' it woulda been a more bareable. Agree on the commercial part tho. The Jackmasters went pop, while the people were expectin' tracks like 'La Familia' and 'Affirmative Action'. Cormega wouldn't fit the album either, he was way too grimey for the rest of the team.
@TheFunkologist Very Very True lol I wish Nas and AZ could have released an album together by now. No radio singles just beats by premo, pete rock, ski and just have about 7-10 songs and sell it online. I'd buy 3 copies lol
@MrFireforreal The whole Firm, minus Nas, have recently recorded a new track for AZ's upcoming Doe Or Die Part 2. I don't see that AZ and Nas collabo happening anytime soon tho lol
This was a legendary album...A reflection of the times i gotta say....it showcased Half A Mill and Nature at their finest...Trackmasters as well...Cant forget legendary Canibus verse.
I think it was the best collaboration album ever...just the concept of the album was like a movie and they painted the perfect picture and that's hard to do when you have so many hands in the pot like they did on this and they did it successfully. Most underated hip hop album ever.
the best firm songs aren't on the firm album. affirmative action, mo money mo murder, firm la familia, everyday thing, love is love, az vs the state... natures freestyles
The Firm album was aight, it coulda been so much better if they put all the unreleased tracks that were on mixtapes and if they never kicked Cormega out....
Yo!! That album is the shit!!! I use to bump tht like 10+ years ago everyday!! Man I gots to go to Itunes & download 'fuck somebodys else' right now, tht joint is fire!!

It's funny how they try to imitate scenes from the Goodfellas, that ain't very original. Taking shit from the Italians and the Irish.
