wait... When did the devil say that?... N even if he did he was quoting Scripture, which was inspired by God. God always gets the glory. God is singing over me, Alleluia HE is right! :)
This song was played by our praise team right before I became saved, I watched the praise leader cry as he sang. His emotion for god poured out through the words and his faith was unquestionable. I knew what I had to.......Jesus Saves!!!!!
i love how this song looks at our salvation from the eyes of Satan. The Devil is trying so hard to convince us that we're too far from God's saving grace, and he's right. We can never be righteous alone, BUT with God's grace, we are saved. Through Jesus' sacrifice, God picks up the story where the Devil leaves off. We are meant to be damned for all eternity, but because of God's love for us, He sacrificed his only Son and JESUS SAVES!
dont just rest in the guilt, gotta listen to the end--"Jesus saves!" we r not under the curse of the law if Christ is our redemption and he saves all who believe upon him. only Christ could live out the Law perfectly, therefore, none of us could present out righteousness before the Father. So Christ presents his perfect righteousness on the behalf of all those who believe on Him.
This is so powerful, you can only embrace a song like this if you have gone through it. I feel many christians have satan standing right next to them accusing them and bringing up an argument to cause to lose their faith in God. Well one thing is for sure if GRACE saved me from death GRACE will finish it's work in me. Nothing I can ever do to attain salvation but only faith through Jesus Christ!! AMEN!!
The song and the clip is so powerfully biblical. Only when we draw closer to the point of realizing the weight of our sin and the wrath from God that we deserve can we truly embrace the joy of our salvation.
I was wondering where you got that last part of the video. (the part where the clouds are hovering over Jesus). If you could provide me with the information to find a clip like that, then I would be very grateful! ^^
check this site out. all you have to do is put the url in the box at the top and download it. let me know if it doesn't work or if you want a higher quality version and I could mail it to you.
I found a website that converts it but when I throw it up on the screen it's really pixilated. I love it if you could send me the higher quality version and I'd be happy to pay you for it or pick up the postage or whatever.
piper tears it up in his clip from "Obedience of Faith." in the courtroom, sinner before God in his throne, unrighteous, unfit for his kingdom...and then I see Jesus...and remember what he did for me. This is love.
he tears it up, meaning he rises to the occasion, he sets the tone, etc. It is a phrase that I use (as well as many others) when you excel at something. his "Obedience of Faith" clip from Piper's sermon fits SO well to this song. So, in other words, Piper's words are perfect.
the message of the song is simply this: the True Gospel. Gal. 3:10-11 says, "For all who rely on works of the law are under a curse; for it is written, 'Cursed be everyone who does not abide by all things written in the Book of the Law, and do them.'" Therefore, we CANNOT in our power "gain salvation" because we have broken the law (Romans 3:23).
So we EMBRACE this ACCUSATION because we are totally depraved--in need of a Saviour. Which Jesus Christ is! He bore our wrath by dying on the cross for all who would believe in Him. He intercedes for those who believe before the throne of God that we might know him.
Jesus saves. Jesus alone. "No one comes to the Father except through me." (John 14:6)

Song is okay but the preaching is fantastic! A shame they used a commentary instead of the actual scriptures.

Think he's using that phrase as a slang with positive connotation.
