  • It is kinda moldy there isnt it? Yet the sunsets are wonderful.

  • I spent all my summers growing up in newport and stopped going there when all the crackheads showed up ...is this video trying to appeal to same sex couples using footage like 1:20?? lol idk cops need to clean it up down there...

  • coos bays better.

  • Newport sucks. At least during the summer. The tourists come from all over the place and are mostly obnoxious jerks. They clog up main street in their cars and make it very hard for locals to enjoy their own town by overcrowding and causing conflict. The locals tolerate their rudeness and get no gratitude in return. Not to mention that the weather is terrible. Even on sunny days the wind will just about knock you down and will turn an otherwise mild day into a cold windy crapfest.

  • Don't forget the rain. Rain, rain, rain, rain, mold, rain, rain, mildew, rain, dry rot, rain, rain, rain. It's great July-September when the rain is less. Just get to the beach before noon, that's when it gets cold as the wind picks up and you'll get a layer of skin cells sandblasted off your face.

  • Mo's is horrible. Wife, my kid and I had dinner there and it was completely loud, windy, crowded and the food gave us the runs. We each ordered different entree's but we all ended up with sore stomach's after eating there.

  • ..................:(

  • I used to live here in the green and white house on Lee street. Now I live in TX kerrville. Ah, the good ol days....................

  • The sea lions, Yaquina Head Lighthouse,, wonderful, greetings fro Puerto Rico 02/07/2010 75°F

  • it was a great place to grow up. but newport has became a SELL OUT town. the locals are freindly like the town sign says only its a commercial town now and frankly i'm glad we moved. guess i'm just ol fashioned

  • Okay, So I live in newport, and has since i was very little, and my friends dad actually owns the mo;s chain.

I think this video kinda fails to capture the whole essence of newport, because there is so so much more to it then just the tourist traps. when your at the beach, try going up the trails and things next to the sand, or when your walking at the bayfront, try talking to the people in the stores. If you driving through, try taking a look at everything, its quite an amazing place.

  • I love to hear when another business goes out of business in Newport, Oregon. Makes my day. I wanna' see all those City and State paid employees loose their jobs, too. lol. They milk the system. Most of those city officials need to be fired and given the pink slip. Please, don't visit Newport, Oregon. You are only supporting the very reason why these lazy officials keep their worthless jobs. They justify their positions and fudge numbers using illegal aliens for slave work and wages.

  • I LOVE going to Newport. It's a lovely place to visit. I like it even better than Malibu, CA. Fave places to go in Newport: Yaquina Lighthouse and Mo's restaurant.

  • okay mo's is ok all the tourists go there but the locals like me go to the chowder bowl next time you are here try it.

  • If you move to Newport, Oregon, you will discover how the Court, Child Protective Service and police work to target your children. Be sure to stop by the DHS office and introduce yourself when you arrive.
