  • Hsha when she opened the purple cage the momma rat was like yes finally y damn it my break and gets out

  • wow i was looking for a ratcage and when i saw one i asked the opinion of other people because their my first rats and i found a cage bigger than that 3th one and exept a few people everybody said that its too small to keep 3 rats so now i have one way much bigger than that 3th one.

  • does news paper hurt them?

  • @wolfslayer9 non-toxic ink is a must

  • I don't have rats, but all of those cages lookway too small even for just one of those rats. Can't they make multi level tall cages that are also wide? I would hope rat owners give their precious pets plenty of play time outside of those cells.\

Sorry to call them cells, but the cages really do look too small

  • The only thing you could possibly use any of those for are temporary cages for transportation to the vet or something.

  • The first cage is way to small for even just one rat. Even if its really tall the bottom is way to small.

The second cage would be great for a hamster but for a rat NO!!!!!!! Your rat needs to be able to have room the exercise and to play around.

The third cage is ok but really only suitible for 1 rat!

  • @RatRacer26 I don't know what you meen ô_Ô

  • animal torturer!

  • She looks like the woman in pulp fiction in the diner

  • And also, woodchips really not ideal for a rats bedding/flooring. Rats can get very easy respiratory infections and woodchips create a huge ammount of dust ! :(

  • Okay guys, this video really gives off the wrong impression about cage size, BUT, people are being unreasonable too.

The first cage is fine as a travel cage, travel cages are called travel cages to be a suitable size for travel!

Yes, the second cage is definitely too small for even one rat, no questions asked.

The third cage is definately not deep enough, I don't know who made that cage.

    :(

  • lol she has a vans box in there

  • The second cage is suitable for pregnancies, but not for just one rat. Rats shouldn't live alone. The third cage is just too small i.m.o., but if you let them out a lot that should be fine I guess. My recommendation is to get a cage larger than the last one and at least two rats.

  • Whore, people like you don't deserve to have animals!! the cages are all toooo small! poor rats

  • wait.... i though this was supposed to be an expert? haha

  • they aren't small lamos its just right

  • She says "rat" weird.

  • This is pretty disgusting. Those cages are far too small, and you should never keep a rat alone anyway. The first is too small for anything... maybe for short journeys, not overnight. The middle cage is far too cramped. The last cage could be kept as a spare cage, but certainly not a permanent home for even one rat.

Anyone who's thinking of keeping rats, ignore this video. There's some rat cage size calculators online if you need help.

  • @thepunkdelusion the last cage is okay for one rat if they get let out all day but I totally agree that it's cruel to keep in those small cages.

  • @ixie122 Rats should never ever be kept alone any. The only thing I could think of using the last one for is separating rats for a short period of time when they fight. You could possibly put two babies in it, while they're still tiny, but even then there needs to be a LOT more stuff in it.

People like this shouldn't be allowed pets :@

@CateDylan that's completely irrelevant. Even the most loved rat is going to be in its cage for the majority of its time. Do some research :)

  • @ixie122 shut up. some people dont have enough room in their house for a mansion. my 2 rats are perfectly happy with their cages, and they are always playing with each other or i am playing with them. just give them exersize and a wheel. some say rats dont like hamster wheels, but my rats use theirs as a sort of slide. this comment got way off topic.

  • That's some rack

  • mmmmmm....i would recommend Ferret Nation..

  • Waaaay, way to small cage. My cage is the size of a bathtub.

  • THOSE CAGES ARE TOO SMALL!!!!

Sorry but I really want that video deleted!

Thumbs up if you want that to!

  • @DwarfhamsterPip listen, u r being unreasonable. the size of these cages are fine, as long as you take out your rats at least once a day for at least an hour a day, not to mention the fact i let my rats sit on me when i do my home work, email, etc. that ends up being a couple of hours, not to mention i play with them and create mazes for them. the second cage is suitable for two rats, IF you take them out and play with them, unlike you who probably leave your rats in the cage all day.

  • @BlueGirlHaley What!?

You don't know me so you can't say that I leave my rats all day in there cage!

I take them ou for at least 2 ours a day and teach them tricks and take them with me to the mall, they are really my best pals!

And trust me every body with a rat will tell you that those cages are way to small

  • @DwarfhamsterPip i just think the travel cage is suitable for TRAVELING! sorry, i didn't mean that. i think you can keep 1 rat in the last cage if you take them out, a lot. i just feel bad for the lady who made this, she must feel terrible with every one putting a bad rap on her. i dont think it is nice that u say, this vid should be deleted. it can really hurt her feelings. not to mention that u can put whatever u want on utube, wether it is wrong or right. let her be.

  • @BlueGirlHaley Yeah if I was the lady I will get really depressed of these comments

But still those cages are really small and I didn't know those cages are for traveling!

I wont say those things to her anymore but that comment was my only comment about that the video must be deleted.

But still I don't agree with the woman but it's good that she try's her best :)

  • @DwarfhamsterPip it is okay. dont worry, it is okay to disagree with people, but the best way to disagree is politely. and only the first 1 is 4 traveling. i am sorry for my comment, u probably lov ur rodents to pieces, i know i do. i know, the last cage is probably suitable 4 1 or 2 SMALL rodents. but i still feel it is much to small. well, i am glad to know we are on a good foot now. good luck with your pets!

  • @BlueGirlHaley Haha thanks you to! :)

  • @DwarfhamsterPip not if you let them out most the time and let them run free, 20 gallon tank with 2 cpu fans to circulate the air in it so theres no ammonia build up and my 2 girls do just fine in it... its more like their own bedroom at night thank it is their house.

  • @3esSohYes Oh yeah I ok I understand, but I think this woman works you know, and than you have less time to take them out.

  • wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong. All cages to small for 1 rat. My travel cage is bigger than the first 2 and my regular rat cage is way bigger than all three.Way to little levels for exploration. They need their own space and roaming areas or they will fight, be stressed, and uncomforable. Considering the fact that they are not spayed or neutered( I'm sure you can't) the man can get a rat pregnant in a minute so you shouldn't let them roam. You can't separate than cause dad will me lonely

  • look i am not trying to trash talk but it is a little mean that you are breeding in small cages!!!but i am not that smart on how to take care of rats.i have a guinea pig in a 3ft cage for right know.and i am going to get him a new home bigger!!is it ok if i put my one female rat in there.yea i will wash it out!!please let me know anyone who know

  • i like more the 3rd cage because it have more space :D

  • What's the point of having a big cage with one small shelf?

  • ALL of these cages are WAYYYYYYYYYYYYY too small. What your doing is animal cruality

  • I actually have to agree. I rarely complain, but this woman's videos are just...wrong. The last cage MIGHT be suitable for two female rats, but even a pair of large males is going to be pushing it. The "And more" of 2 or more is incorrect. Also, yes. . .keeping just one rat is a very VERY bad idea. Rats are social, and need other rats to be healthy. the only time one rat might be kept well is if it is recovering from surgery, or during quarantine. Even then, roomies are better.

  • bull shit, the last cage is barely big enough for two! I have a ferret cage for my rats, for gods sake! this lady doesn't have a clue on what she is talking about! i swear, the rats have barely anthing to play with. If you don't know haow to take care of rats, don't get them!

  • U ppl need 2 chill shes had rats since she was 5 nd those rats semmed happy i thnk she nos wat shes doin sevry1 calm urself slo yo roll

  • the second level in the last cage is crap!

  • Calm down ppl ! Do the rats look sad ,starwing or someshit the rats look fine! That mean she cares for them!

  • every expert village video i see is disliked exponentially and is filled with a lot of bad info =/ seriously? why do they have so many videos if their so bad? is this FOX news for youtube or something?

  • guys, calm down. she's an expert. not a pro

  • @fullbloodedchristian ya about tyme sum body calms them down

  • the 2nd one is suitable for 1 rat!!!!!! Rats should NEVER be housed alone! and the cage is still too smalll for one rat. The 'travel' cage is also too small even for one night!. The last cage also isn't very suitable as even with only two rats in, it is still too small and they will hardly have any room to move!!! My rats cages are 6ft long and 4 ft wide and I have two rats in each tank!

  • @MrsCarlisleCullen6 you, the babies can live with their mom for a while without taking to much space, and i do agree they shouldn't be housed alone, unless they are with you 24/7. the travel cage is fine, considering that it will have to be small enough to travel with you! and it is only for a short period of time, not their whole lives. the last cage is suitable. you just have to take them out and play with them. you can probably fit 3 rats in the last cage.

  • @BlueGirlHaley why are you arguing with everyone??? NONE of those cages are suitable! considering there are just under 700 comments on this video and most say the same (that they are not suitable) then you are wasting your time arguing! i have kept rats my entire (yes entire) life and those cages I wouldnt even put a hamster or gerbil in! they are miles to small!!!

  • @MrsCarlisleCullen6 then why are you arguing with me smartie? i am arguing bcause people r ganging up on this lady bcause she is incorrect as some say. and how big do u want the travel cage to be? it has to FIT in the PLACE your taking them to! it cant be as big as their home, it wouldn't fit in the car, hotel room, grandmas house, etc. so please, stop arguing with me if u think i am wasting my time arguing.

  • @BlueGirlHaley EXACTLY! Why are you trying to act all smart??? If people are arguing with you doesn't that tell you somehting or are you just not that smart! The 'travel cage' is miles to small!!!! I have a bigger one than that for my gerbil! The middle one would be considered a small travel cage (if you could call it that, its still too small to be a carry cage), that would easily fit into a car!!! I myself own a little 2 seat mini-cooper and I could fit the large one in it!

  • @BlueGirlHaley Also, you are contradicting yourself a lot. Why are you arguing if you believe she is incorrect (I think you need to reword your comment) and why are you talking about arguing?? Sayign that you're not arguing, and then arguing back. You seriously need to figure out what it is you are trying to say and then learn adequate english to put across your argument!

  • @MrsCarlisleCullen6 clearly, u dont understand. i said why are YOU arguing with me if YOU are telling me i am wasting my time by arguing, so i told you the reason why i was arguing. i said i was arguing with people because they wanted this vid deleted just because it is bad. i think she was good. she has feelings you know! they were saying mean things! as i said, she is incorrect AS SOME PEOPLE SAY! stop arguing with me and telling me it is a waste of my time because ur arguing with me 2.

  • @MrsCarlisleCullen6 Tanks are aweful for rats but I suppose a huge one would be suitable. Though THAT MUCH space is good, but not absolutely necessary. If the third cage in this video had more shelves, levels, or explorable space, then it would be perfect for 2 rats. I agree that rats should never be housed alone. However nursing mothers should be until the pups are old enough to not need her. Furthermore..if a dog can spend a night in a carrier, then a rat can spend a night in that small cage.

  • @MrsCarlisleCullen6 Please tell me you aren't using tanks!

  • @MixMasterLuffy Yes! Which is why I said Tanks!

I bought it from PETS AT HOME when I bought the Rats. Go onto the website, and its the £159.99 one called RAT AQUARIUM (so basically an AQUARIUM for RATS!.

The following extract is taken from the PETS AT HOME website:

Aquariums can also be used to house a rat. These are draughtproof and relatively cheap. A water bottle can be fixed to the side of an aquarium. It is always best to ensure a a wire mesh lid is fixed to the aquarium.

  • i use an aquarium tank to house my rat.....

  • @pedelpopper its no surprise that you live in expert village then now is it?!

  • @VampireSisters1017 nah clearly ur 1 of these idiots trying to defend 1 another

  • @TheCircusReject me and Violet (my albino rat) have seen much worse....... this man was throwing a guinea pig and rat at a wall!!!!! *shudder*

  • @VampireSisters1017 That's horrid. x_x Can't be as bad as Squishy Cat, though.

  • If u dnt have something good to say then stfu!!! This video is awesome

  • Wow some of u people should shut ur faces cud I'm pretty sure this lady knows what she's talking aboutay

  • laura fitzgerald....what a generic name

  • This is a horrible video. The ONLY cage that's remotely suitable for a rat is the third one and even then it's only suitable for a MAXIMUM of two rats. The second is suitable for one, but rats should NEVER be housed alone! Bah! This video is such nonsense! If you're looking for a great rat cage go with the Midwest Critter Nation.

  • Appalling rubbish. Look at fancy-rats.co.uk (wherever you are) for the best advice. There are good sites in other countries but the UK one is the biggest. I've no connection other than a user of it. This woman knows nothing, and she certainly shouldn't be breeding.

  • All these cages are way to small. A rat should have plenty of room to run, play, eat, sleep, and do its daily routine. If you can't accept this fact then don't get a rat. I got a rat cage over 100 dollars. It is a suitable size for about 3 rats. All cages shown are crowded, cramped, and uncomforable. And there is no ''condo'' because they get larger and larger. My cage is double that size. They may be easy to fill but thats not the point. Look at your rat from ITS point of view.

  • big tits..

  • I really hope no one follows this woman's advice. I'm a rat owner and this woman doesn't know what the hell she's talking about.

  • boobs

  • I don't have a pet rat or anything but all of those cages seem pretty small. Hopefully the owners of rats take them out for plenty of play time

  • Im looking For a Nice breed of rat and a fair priced but good cage. Should I get 2 rats at the same time or bring one in later? Im might Be getting a male so will they fight over territory? I Know rats are gentle but Ive seen Male Fights B4 and was wondering if that was just them? Plz Reply...

  • The second cage is good for 2 rats I have that one and it is fine for two rats and the third one does not make sense u only have on level when there is alllllll that space to fill!!!!

  • Who made this woman an expert? I hope no one takes this too seriously...

  • The thirth cage is suitable for 2 rats MAX!!

And do you use sawdust bedding? Because that's really unhealthy for your rats, because of their sensitive airways. It is also unhealty for yourself, because when is comes in contact with urine, noxious fumes will come free..

  • my cage is in the same size as the second cage but twice as high thats ok for two rats rigtht ?

  • the travel cage housed my 2 rats for years, honestly whatever, they were fine. they arent deer, they dont need to run throughout the land. just need something to do..

  • Some of these comments are a wee harsh. I agree that I wouldn't use the first cage AT ALL. The second as a travel cage and the third could be a starter cage for two rats. Calling it the condo of all cages is lame. She should see the double critternations connected side by side on goosemoose.

  • These videos should be removed. This woman knows nothing of rat care, she keeps them singularly (rats are social animals), in cages that are far too small (cage one and two are no good for long term homes, cage three is not the "condo of all condos" - it's fairly small and has no cage furniture like hammocks, ropes and igloos like it should have!). If you want good advice, google search Fancy Rats - a UK site which has much better information. This woman is NOT an expert.

  • she is referring to cages that are cheap for people to buy, I make my cages.. out of bins.. and they are so much better then these.. and also if you look for wire cages go to Martin cage dot com.. bin cages are good if it has 3 open sides for ventilation.. I hope Expert Village really updates these videos.. !!

  • Third is absolutly dumb! It has so much top space and it has one tiny level wt frig? That cage suck yes let get rats out of the top door that float in the air!

  • it cant be that bad

i mean look at how many rats she owns

u cant say shes a bad keeper

  • is that a hairless rat at 0:52 thats awsome

  • all those cages are pretty tiny. I hope people with rats take them out for some play time out of those pet cells

  • eww....!

  • People get so angry and harsh about animal videos! Perhaps her facts aren't perfect but it's not like she has them living in cedar with no food and water or anything! Not to mention she totally mentions the first one being only good for temporary living... so so harsh. I'd rather have a rat newbie see a video like this than nothing at all wouldn't you?

  • haha you wear vans!!!! awesome!

  • Cage 1 would be fine if it had more levels. My rats have a similar cage, but with 3 levels BESIDES the ground level.

  • ok these vid r already bad but DO NOT get the first cage she showed. I had the exact same cage for my hamster and the next day it was GONE! I hav no idea how she got out the cage was fully put together and still my pet is gone forever

  • @notmyjob21 Rats are much larger than masters though. However, I will agree that the 1st cage is too small for your typical fancy rat.

  • @notmyjob21 It probably just squeezed through the bars, barred cages are bad for hamsters because they can squish themselves down really flat to get through the bars. Rats can squish themselves down too, but not enough to get through the bars of a cage like one of these. Also people, she never said the first cage was suitable for a permanent cage, stop acting like she did, she said it was a temporary cage only.

  • 2:24-227 spider rat, spider rat!

  • people should also check out the PETA web site for advice on how to care for pet rats, and the cages they need. Cage 1 seems much too small for even 1 rat

  • @ReviewCam did you not hear her say that cage one is for carrying to take them to the vet, or overnight, not forever. travel cage

  • @mawijordanox yes, I heard her say that, but I always know that a lot of people would look at it and consider it a regular cage

  • the third should be only for 2 max like 3 and never keep a rat on its own if this lady a specialist then i tihnk i must be the ultimate proffesional look at some of my vids and other rat video like from Opupo rats need hammocks, toys and more than on house AND shredded paper reallly try not to get wired floors so no bumblefoot happens and most important! GET YOUR RATTY,S IN PAIRS!!

  • the third should be only for 2 max like 3

  • i live in alberta so i dont even know why i'm watching this!

  • I Wuld choose the third, & for only 1 rat

  • I have two rats, and my cage is twice the size of the last one.

  • "the condo of all cages for rats" PFF the things is frikkin small. It's a minimum size for 2 rats. Google 'Savic royal suite 95 double' or 'Furet Tower'. Those cages are 10 size as big.

  • all 3 cages , are too small !!!!!!!!!!!!!! even for one rat , the first cage is simply a cage for hamster

  • These cages are all too small. Not to mention rats love to have hanging hammocks and multiple levels on their cages so that they can climb and play and have fun. Just sitting at the bottom of their cage all the time is boring for them. Also it's terrible that she shows her Mum rat walking straight into the cage with her male rat, she is likely to get pregnant again while her previous litter is still tiny and need her attention. This woman is so irresponsible. >:(

  • @TheYoghurt42 hey u r so rite those cages are not small that third one is huge.how many rats do u have

  • @threefriendsfly The third cage is a suitable size, not exactly huge, but it would be and acceptable size if the rats could actually enjoy the space. But since there are no hammocks or shelves, they are stuck plodding about on the bottom.

I currently own four rats although I don't see why that's relevant.

  • @TheYoghurt42 hi i want to ask u something .... can i put in the same cage a femal and a male rat? and how much a good rat cage costs... i dont want the make them bored ... i dont have rats yet thats why i ask u .. i have hamsters..

  • @plagentis Hey. Unless the male or female rat is fixed (desexed) then no, you can't have them in the same cage or they will have huge litters more frequently than mum can handle it. Breeding rats is an awful idea unless you have a lot of experience. And it's not so much about the price as about the size of the cage. A standard two-level cage is about $90, but the bigger the better! Also, making toys for your rats is really easy and will keep them entertained. Good luck. ;)

  • @TheYoghurt42 ha ok ... ty for good luck

  • @TheYoghurt42 im still working on my cage making it better i did have 2 levels of shevels in it put took them out cause they were wire and they can get Bumblefoot ya i did my own research on cages

and shedder chips as well they can have breathing probelms with sortin kinds of shavings

  • Comment removed

  • well, MAYBE the rats don't spend the entire day in the cage but also hang around the house and cuddle, have you though of that?

  • @CateDylan That doesn't make up for it. Even if they aren't in their cages all of the time, her mother rat is still going to get pregnant again while she has a young litter and the time that her rats spend in their cage is still going to be boring for them.

  • i dont even have my rats yet but even i know she is an absoulute IDIOT!!! never use wire flooring unless it is powder coated with fleece or bedding also all the cages are horrible the babys can roam and there are no toys OR hammocks?! is this woman retarted

  • cage 1 is too small. cage 2 is okay for a travel cage. cage three is okay for 1 (mabe 2) ratties. Those rats need more people time. they obviously are trying to get her attention. If you can't handle multiple rats, DON'T!

  • i hate how she touches the mother rats babies because the mom might not welcome the baby back. i had a rat and picked up a baby and when i put it back she completely ignored it and wen it tried to get milk she ripped it in half.

  • 1st cage is liek a hamster cage.

  • Cage three is the size of a cage I have fro TWO MICE O.o for two rats I would want it twice that size. I like space for my rodents...and toys lots of toys.

  • people who are speaking ill of the cages needs to re-watch the video because some of these people are clearly not listening very well

  • you people are mean. first of all she did say the first cage was for ex. for overnight at the vet or when at a friends house. the other two cages are fine. get over it.

  • @purpleglow18 the second one is absolutely not fine, since rats love to climb.

  • I watch this to learn what NOT to do.

  • you are a insperation to me i want to get a rat do you have any comments

  • Wow. I love how she leaves the door open to the baby rats while one rat is walking around freely and can easily go in, and kill them. :/

  • cage 1 would only be suitable to take to a vet.

cage 2 that would only be like for a day the longest

cage 3 not suitable for needs more levels wire need to covered.

  • Every rodent care video I have seen by these guys is utterly wrong. Okay, they're "okay" I suppose, but not if your really want to properly care for your pet. -sigh-

  • NOT SUITABLE

  • Every single one of those cages should not even house 1 rat! Even the last one was bad for 2. Do your research before you put out incorrect information lady. Why you show yourself on YouTube, I have no idea!

  • here you can find a better mesure for an optimal rat cage

  • @Darkmausi ups ^.^ "cagecalc" dot d e

  • Cage 1. WAY TOO SMALL

Cage 2. BARELY big enough for 1

Cage 3. Wire shelves, no decoration, and you fail because YOU BROKE the cage doors!

  • @sheitruis P.S. Wire Shelves get legs stuck, and arent as fun to climb on.

  • i hate you

  • never put just 1 rat in a cage :( this poor animals.

I gonna put YOU in a little cage ...

  • My rats currently run wild between a medium sized cage and my bed. In the next week I will receive a custom made cage for two rats that is 30",15",27". That is large but there is loads of room for hammocks, toys, etc.

NEVER use a fish tank -ever. Rats easily get respiratory infections and a fish tank could kill them in the long run.

  • Even the floor area of the cage my roborowski lives in is 1m x 0,5m

  • @Darkmausi Lol you serious? Where do your rats live in, a human sized room?

  • @IceTeaEdwin unfortunatly i don't have the space, but the cage of my 4 adult rats is 80cm x 75cm and 85 cm high but at cristmas i will buy them a "unidom 3" i know some people who actually are keeping there rats in human sized roomes or in a 2m² aviary

  • umm the 3rd cage isnt the ultimate cage i think thats only good for 2 baby rats and she has no toys just a wooden house and a homemade box and 2 balls rats have a short attention span so she needs alot more toys like tunnels and other things and the the 2rd cage is small but you should never have 1 rat to begin with this women does not know how to take care of her rats at all

  • my rat likes to bite allot and i don't know what to do?

  • That last one is exactilly the one my rat Taz has. He used to have a buddy in there, but he died, and he doesn't get along with any of my other rats. =(

    BBs

  • can you litter train rats like rabbits?

    BBS

  • @TheShipdeck Yes you can they are quite easy to litter train, just move their poops into the tray and they soon get the idea.

  • Please people realise that these videos are completely wrong, none of these cages are suitable for a pair of rats. A rat should never be kept as a single rat, ever. They are extremely social and need other ratties to be happy. Her cages are also very empty, they need toys, hammocks, and a few hidey houses to feel secure. The best cages, and most desired are called CritterNations or Martin's Cages. Search for those on Google!!

  • @RiceMamaRatty : I can only agree with you.. I was watching all of this woman's video's and they make me so angry.

She says: this cage is high, so you can put in many levels and toys. But why doesn't she do that? The rats only have this tiny thingie as an extra level, the rest of the cage is almost empty.

I think she's also using (sawdust? I don't know the word in english, I'm sorry) to put on the bodom, which gives rats problems with their lungs. This woman shouldn't have pets.

  • @RiceMamaRatty You must have not listened to the video whatsoever.

The first cage she Specifically said was only for transporting or temporary use.

Second cage: some rats (such as those with babies) can not be housed with another rat.

Third cage: it may be bare, but it is obvious that she lets her rats run free everywhere anyways, so they dont need a luxury mansion to be happy.

  • @RiceMamaRatty Perfect but uselessly big for a couple of rats unless you never let them out when you're home. And this is the real mistreatment. The cute little rat in the middle cage is a mother who actually NEEDS to be away from any dangerous male. The rat's favorite toy is the playground he makes out of your home.I'm pretty sure we all love our rats better when they are free to run around. A toy, a ball and a shelter are enough for your rats when they sleep or wait for you to get back home.

  • @RiceMamaRatty The video isn't entirely incorrect, while the first cage is too small (which she mentioned in the video), the other two are suitable for her purposes. She obviously gives her rats a lot of time out of their cage (apparent bc of the freedom to roam while she tapes the video), and only used the second cage for a mama with babies, which is appropriate.

  • @RiceMamaRatty You should not keep a rat alone of course, but if you have an aggressive male (or female, which actually happens sometimes, just ask my rattie Ginny) who cannot be made (either through neutering or gradual introduction) to get along with other ratties, they should be kept alone but given plenty of human interaction and attention. The third cage is a good size for two rats, but she should cover the wire mesh floors and ramps to prevent bumblefoot and provide some hammocks.

  • @RiceMamaRatty as you can see in the other videos the rats always play with eachother.

  • @RiceMamaRatty well actually i cant get either cause i live in australia and i cant even ship them over. + im only 11 and my parents wont actually buy a cage that expensive!

  • @RiceMamaRatty it would be nice if someone made a few videos on how to properly maintain a rat

  • Where did u get the second cage

  • the cages are bad

cage 1 is to small for any rats

cage 2 is only ok for 1 rat (barly)

cage 3 is ok for 2 rats but the problem is they cant walk on the wire you need to cover it up with fleece :)

  • @guineapiglover7799 my rat bits allot and i don't know what to do?

  • @guineapiglover7799 I think she has a point about using the cage 2 for a mother rat with a new litter, but nothing long-term. I'd bet she has her rats in larger cages with more platforms and toys.

  • @guineapiglover7799 well she said it was a carry cage so you don't expect for any rat to live in there, only for like a little

  • @guineapiglover7799 She said all those things except for the fleece bit. Bringing a rat to the vet in anything bigger than cage 1 would be ridiculous

  • @guineapiglover7799 I've seen a couple of the other videos by expertvillage on rat care, as much as I agree these people really have no idea on this one, She did say the first cage was not for long term care - Take into account whats said in the video before posting.

  • no, the second cage is NOT suitable for one rat. rats love to climb and they need space, shelves, ladders, places to hide. this one is however good for mother with her children for quiet and safety.

the third cage is good for two rats most, and you should really work on the furniture. also the shelves should be made of something solid, like wood (properly saturated), thick plastic, so rat's feet wouldn't fall/get stuck in-between!

PS you should never keep just one rat alone!

  • Druemclean shut up just be thankful she uploaded the vidz for us guys

  • Thanks for all the helpful vidz now i know what to do im going to by 2 rats 1 male 1 female and i might call the male 1 tar if u dont mind

  • @MegaBBGuy You would have to get the male neutered in this situation which is a dangerous op on a small animal if not needed. Far easier and safer to get two of the same sex unless you want lots of babies and with so many rats needing good homes thats just silly.

  • @MegaBBGuy : DID YOU EVEN READ ANYTHING ABOUT RATS? You can't put a male and female together, they'll keep on making nests right after each other, which is bad for the female. And where are you gonna put all of the babies?

These vids are NOT helpful. Go to a good breeder if you want rats, and ask explanations. These cages are very bad for your rats.

Djees why can't people read things about the pets they want to buy first. You can't just take a pet without knowing how to take care of it.

  • @MegaBBGuy not a good idea the buy a male and female unless you want lots of of baby rat to find homes for. As rat can become pregant a few days if not hours after giving birth.

  • what were to happen if you were to put a rat with a hamster

  • That mama rat is just hanging to get as far away from her babies as possible

  • :) Cute babies....!

  • This place is crawling with vermins, I would gladly let my cat in there

  • right after she said it was light, she could not pick it up! :) My rat's name is Gaga... she is still gettig used to me; I can't get another, I had to beg (and I mean BEG) for one at the least... But I still love her <3
