  • I'm 5'10" an 155 lbs. and I can't do a single one-armed pull-up. Or any of these things for that matter. I'm working hard though, I stay after 2 hrs of wrestling practice every day for at least 45 min. of lifting. Do you have any tips on how I can learn to do stuff like this?

  • @mahaLoLolo1 yes man ^^ do more excercises with your body weight like pull ups or dips. on youtube you will find good tutorials for each excercise. Peace

    The author trained gymnasts who can do stuff like this in their sleep:)

  • @EvilLamas I looked the book up, it seemed like it was made for someone w/ access to more gymnastics equipment...

    Besides, my wrestling team is doing offseason weightlifting now, which seems like a different type of training (less body weight stuff). Will I still be able to do stuff like this if I train that way?

  • @mahaLoLolo1 I could potentially do most the stuffi n the book, and I spent £20- pull up bar, cargo straps, paraletes from PVC.

    Weightlifting will get you stronger, and bigger, but if anything it will make it MORE difficult to achieve goals like in the video, unless you lift heavy weight.

    At least get a pull up bar- you can do allot with just that and the floor.

  • I'm a girl I can do the flag and gym teacher made my class do pull ups well I had to do flags so not fair but she thought I was so strong don't anyone inbox me to do them and put it on YouTube my non wont let me anymore

  • I could do this too if i were 5'5" and weighed 170. unfortunately im 6'4" and weigh 225. Flag is hard if you got long legs.

  • @brownmokey no I think its more the shoulders and the lat. You need this muscles to keep upper body into a horizontal position.

  • @iRaRa15 The top hand pulls hard on the bar, while the bottom hand pushes hard against it. This motion creates balance - but it still requires major core strength to keep the body suspended against gravity.

  • On your back lever, lean forward more with your shoulders so your body becomes more horizontal with the ground

  • Awesome, one little tip though, when you're doing the one arm pull ups, don't "drop" your weight down, do it controlled, you can injure your elbow that way.

    Props for everything though.

  • I use to do these kinds of excercizes until one day when picking up a cup of coffee my biceps flexed out to the extent that the thing popped my girlfriend in the eye. Needless to say, the little woman hauled off and kicked my ass.

  • @Nevermorian For about two years of hard training. I walked to the gym 5 times a week and sometimes practice bodyweight excercises. I think if you specially train this moves you could to them in about one year. But calisthenics is so much more than learning this 4 moves. There are much more variations of moves and for me it is like a lifestyle. Good luck !

  • @Nevermorian the best exercise for any movement is the movement itself. dont think that by bench pressing 2x your bodyweight or some shit you`d be able to do this. its all about getting consistent with good technique and learn to recruit more motor units for that particular movement

  • Wow I can do the one arm lift ups. I'm 15 and I'm 105IB Pure muscles 5'8-5'9

    When I was 14 I was 95IB pure muscles under a very very tin layer of skin. 5'8

    I still need to work on my lowwer 2 abs because I have 3 on top the first 2 abs aren't that strong the last 2 aren't that strong but the 4 middle ones are. :[

    I am not a gymnast, i only like training^^.I haven´t got a special workout routine. Sometimes I go to gym and lift weights ,sometimes I work on the pull-bar or on my handstand.

  • @xxx4232xxx oh but we can explain it with physics. The upper arm supports the body as the lower arm pushes, with great force, to bring the body into a parallel position in relation to the ground. The force from the top and bottom balance the body into a state of equilibrium. However without this explanation, our eyes just tell us wtf!!!
