  • was that helen Shapiro?

  • It was the b-side of Hey Little Girl, the first Del Shannon record I bought. Then I bought his first four singles on an EP.

  • Even though his hits weren't that many, he was one of the most influential musicians of that era, great tune!

  • ANOTHER GREAT TRACK FROM THIS UNDERATED 60 S ROCKER

  • Boy, he was really working up a sweat there.

  • he is lovely-sad hes gone

  • a great cover of this song done by shakin stevens is also fanatstic

  • LOVE ALL DEL's SONGS, ALWAYS WENT TO SEE HIM AT THE EMPIRE LIVERPOOL IN THE 60s, WHAT A VOICE FANTASTIC

  • I think it's a great B side from a wonderful artist who was highly rated among Britsih teens in the early 60's. Thanks for posting.

  • I thought that was Helen Shapiro!

  • It is and it was an great movie!@tobbelobbe666

  • From the 1962 movie It's Tad Dad directed by Richard Lester.

  • Man, the thing i'd do to meet Del if he was alive... God bless this rock star! He was the best!! R.I.P

  • This was a B Side! Its amazing a real stomper of a song, never heard it before but straight over the Amazon for this one!

  • Del had such a great voice. Too bad he had to ice himself

  • You speak much truth...ha...the first time I heard runaway I got chills.

  • ahh alls these views are problery off my dad, this is like the only song he plaayss atm :|

  • del shannon was massive in the uk in the early-mid 1960s and put out many hits and agree with the other comments on here, his b-sides were often much better than other artists throw away b-sides of the time

  • Did anyone notice Mario Fabrizi eating at the table next to Helen Shapiro and Craig Douglas? He was in many comedy shows with Tony Hancock, Benny Hill and others. He seldom spoke but understood the spirit of whatever sketch he was in.

  • Yes I noticed him , I saw the film when it came out in the early 60's. Del never made a bad B side and this was without just about his best.

  • Glad someone else was aware of things then. I saw Del Shannon twice at the City Hall Newcastle and he was a tremendous act.. You're right. His B sides were easily good enough to be A sides in their own right. One of the few artists whose records could be played on both sides and enjoyed. mind you, I have to say, that film was crap but the music was good. Enjoy your life.

  • I took my girl to see " It's Trad Dad" 1972.

I was sweet 17 then, Never been Kissed, kicked, or manhandled. Or, all of the above. The times weren't as innocent as we old'ns make out.

  • I'll always love the Drifter's version best, but I was interested to hear Del's version since I like some of his other songs. I like how its faster and how he changed the title line in the chorus. :) I was also happy he incorporated some of his signature high notes lol.

  • were is it from thanks jk

  • It's from a British film called 'It's Trad Dad' which went on general release in 1962 and features US artists Del Shannon, Gene Vincent, Gary US Bonds, Chubby Checker, Gene McDaniels, and British artists Helen Shapiro, Craig Douglas, the Brook Brothers and John Leyton.

  • Love singing along with this one - even with that trumpet. BTW, I have the original Drifters version of this posted.

  • and David Jacobs introducing him...!

    ;-)
