  • One of these two guys shot the first competitive 59 in PGA history in 1977. Who was it?

  • Knudson....all legs.

  • I thought it was hogan to start of with. Certainly the cosmetics look similar but I suspect the dynamics are actually quite different. I am certainly not and expert enough so wouldn't go further than that.

  • I am no expert either, howver I just think that aesthetically it looks amazing!

  • Thanks - interesting stuff.

  • Excuse my ignorance but I don't know who John Gustin is! Would love to know!

  • George Knudson is a Canadian golfer, best till Mike Weir. Both have won 8 PGA events. Knudson was 2nd in the 1969 Masters (tied with 2 others for 2nd) and won 8 events A strong devotee of Hogan, who he watched on the range for hours at a time, he is generally considered in the top 5 to 10 swings of all time. Lee Trevino, in an article for Gold Digest about 12 years ago, said he (knudson) was the best long woods player he had ever seen.

  • Please tell us more!

  • Oh Canada. Knudsen swings it around his waist.

  • Talk about a couple of guys with first-rate swings. Wonder how many in the Tiger-invented-golf generation even know who these two are.

  • Pebble Beach of the North.

    Victoria G.C.

  • So true..
