can anyone tell me is it possible to fit an engine like this into a sprinter van ? would it run properly ? would i have to use ecu and harness ? i have done lots of v w conversions but i am not too familiar with mercs,,,,
The engine is basicly bone stock Korean SsangYong 2.9D with Mynä pump. Only modifications are cylinder head, injection pump, prechambers, oil sump, oil pump, intake manifold, oil filter housing, oil cooler, connecting rod bearings, timing cover and oil dip stick from the original 2.5 turbo engine. Pistons are from Mercedes Vito and connecting rods are from Sprinter. Custom made exhaust manifold, intercooler and turbo are only real mods to the practically untouched original engine.
Ya, pero de todos modos a ese coche le han dado mucha pero mucha caña, no hay mas que oirlo. La correa hace ruido (seguramente tenga averiado el tensor de la correa) y ademas el motor suena como si le faltara un tiempo, quiza tenga hasta una perdida de compresion en algun cilindro.
Yo tengo un 190 clavadito a ese, pero atmosferico con 500.000 km cumplidos, y te aseguro que suena de maravilla, y con el motor caliente, mas aun.
Vamos, que este 190 del video esta mal cuidado de cojones...
Sometimes when those airfilters r fitted on the end of the turbo the air collected out of engine bay is warmer than standard air feeder, yours looks to be in a good position though, is that turbo standard?
10/40 mpg? is that a typo? that seems like a crazy difference. this is a 300d 2.5 turbo right? my stock one averages btwn 24-30 mpg... tell me more about the specs/setup if u will, i'd love a superturbo of my own.
and post a video of it going crazy and smoking the tires, weld your diff, put in stiff springs, and smoke sideways while giong 100km/h yaaaaaaaaaaaaa go baby go, benz drift squadron

I swap my 601.943 (2.3D), to 602.961 like this on my Sprinter 308D, engine in stock version (126PS) :)

that's the MB diesel sound.... from the pre-cdi era! good times, good fun!

HX50 is far too big for only 300hp. An HY35 or HX35 is much better for that.

The timing is too far advanced. Check the drip timing.

timing is perfect. just a BIG pump giving hard time for a cold engine. once it's warmed up, it runs like a VW TDI ;)

dynoed 300hp@5200 and 300 torq. gas mileage is somewhere between 40 to 10 mpg. on the highway mileage is lot better than original.
