To be honest, it wasn't tim burton enough. Alice in Wonderland was based off an acid trip, which is what tim burton turned it into, which goes with what you said. BUT, I enjoy the other movies that he's done, like Edward Scissorhands, Sweeney Todd, Sleepy Hollow, Nightmare Before Christmas. To me, it didn't seem as dark as it should've been. Which is what Tim Burton is all about. He was slakin in this movie; tsk tsk Tim!
Boring, lame, not Alice-y, hmm....sounds like a pretty bad movie...I almost fell asleep too, oh hey nice dance Johnny Depp at the end of the movie...NOT! lol
You obviously have little to no knowledge of Alice In Wonderland, Lewis Carroll WROTE a sequel titled Through the Looking Glass, and Alice DOES slay the dragon in the book and wonderland IS split as depicted in the film. The movie follows the book, Burton did not make the story line up. I usually like your reviews, but you missed the mark on this one.
uhm. no he didn't. How many people care/know about that? Just because something really did happen doesn't mean it should be made into a feature. This is a good, if not great example. This movie was just there, playing in front of me...and I didn't care.
Actually, I am fully aware of Through The Looking Glass. In fact, the film states that it is "based on Lewis Carroll's Alice In Wonderland AND Through the Looking Glass." I was simply saying that this movie is a sequel to the original Disney film.
I do agree that my comment was a bit out of context. It's just that the film seemed to present itself as a remake of the original. Seeing it more as a sequel caught me a little off guard.
I, too, thought the 3D was crap. The only cool thing in 3D was the cat. Other than that, they didn't really make use of the 3D. It kinda sucked. The movie was pretty good though. Some things just seemed odd, and the story was pretty predictable. Worth watching, but I wouldn't rush to go see it.
Also, I gotta go with Sweeney Todd as the last best movie Tim Burton directed. Big Fish was still really good though, too.
The movie, was an interesting experience as all Tim Burton's films have come to be, but the biggest reaction I had was meh, I think the 3-D totally ruined any chance it had for me...

@OmwhReviews
But your statement about Burton turning Alice into a dragon slayer made it seem like you thought he pulled it out of his own ass. ;)
