I love my country, but hate its reputation. It's a complicated little patch of land with an interesting history, that's for sure. It does have its problems, as all countries do, but makes up for it in so many other ways.
it's a pity really, that American culture is but 300 years old. Despite the fact that Belgium's independence was reached only in 1832, their architecture is magnificent! This was a constructive video =)
belgium is a young country, but that doesn't mean there is no history before that ;) flemish history for example goes back a thousand years, with many magnificent buildings to showcase for it.
what is is with the constant negativity when it comes to belgium? what have we done to you all, and why is it that the only thing you know about this country are negative stereotypes and childish prejudices? all you people are proving is how you little you know about this country...
Yeah, i do have the nerves. Sweden at least have: a good music-export, good teams in sports, not concrete-blocks as cities, nicer people, is cheaper, have (as you said) nicer landscapes. And you have never been to sweden, i have been in Belgium, The place is so gray that i thought that i never would see the sun, got some kind of "Mordod-vibes":P
check the account of BelgianMusic, then come back and dare tell us that we don't have a magnificent music industry. Seriously, all you're doing is proving your ignorance.
And have you seen Brugge, Gent, Antwerpen, Knokke, etc? They're some of the prettiest cities in Europe. Cconcrete blocks? That's pretty lolly.
Sad that you have to knock other countries to feel better about yourself... And euhm, music export? Belgium has the most vibrant musicindustry of all of continental Europe (hint: check my account).
Sports: there's are many Belgians who were and still are worldchampions in cycling, motorcross, and many other sports. Nicer people? Like you? Not at all. Cold ultra-lefty Swedes with one of the blandest kitchens in Europe. Glaciers exude more warmth. Concerte block.. Yeah right, Brugge? Gent? What the hell is wrong with you people?
This is called trolling. Some people sout there like to post insulting answers and they expect receiving angry answers. they found it funny and entertaining.
There were an old saying on USENET don't feed the trolls. It happens everywhere on Internet and almost for anykind of topics. Don't read them, they aren't worth it.
btw.. first of all, your not "best" in tennis, your just good in tennis, second, tennis is a booring sport wich confirmes my theory that belgium is a booring country, and third, you cant give just one example and then write "etc." :P
boring country lol... stereotypes are for kiddies, so you're acting your age.
if this is such a boring country then why does so much great music come from it, why do so many of our neighbour countries invade our clubs, restaurantqs, cities, bars, etc evey weekend. there are huge parties, events and such every week, more than in msot otther small countries... and so on.
saying belgium is boring just proves what an ignorant kid you are.
What is belgium good for? are they really needed? worthless in football, all sports really, known for their animaltransport, culture as a ditch, helped germany to attack France from the north,
true true, but i still wonder why they are so booring and no-one has given me a good answere yet. Uglyest flag in world history, no good music-export. Unpleasent people, expencive as hell. Brussel is the EU-capital witch sucks. and sorry mate, i don´t know what they are good at:S
sure they did, Im talkning about the first world war, not the second, naa, im glad you think so, and i agree that the cocolate is splendid, the beer? no:P, ;)
i'll disregard your other uninformed & prevonceived comments, but when you say that belgium has not produced any good musicians... huge fucking LOL. if there's anything that belgium is known for then it's a great music-scene....
the account of user 'belgianmusic' proves exactly that, and it also proves how totally clueless you are. which, i gather, is pretty common for foreigners.
well ill have to ask a random person cause ill not be able to go out of brussels .. :\ i wish i could go to any dutch citys.... but thkx for replying :>
you can have up to 3gr for personal use in belgium (if you're belgian), but there's no legal way to buy it. you could try going into the back neighbourhoods and ask a random person, but i wouldn't advise it.
most dutch cities have some coffeeshops, not just amsterdam, so its not that much trouble to pop over the border for a little green bag.
I love Brussels..I lived there for 3 months and I wanna come back!!!The people and juzt the city have something specific..the atosphere that makes you must like it!!
Not true. One third of Brussels residents are foreigners, mostly EU nationals and other professionals. Overall, one tenth of Belgian residents are foreigners with Turks, Moroccans, Italian and Spanish the largest communities.
i lived here for almost a year, it has some nice areas, and grand place is always a great place to grab a coffee! good video and i like the music too =)
i'm from belgium and it's really a nice country! It's the heart of europe! and most people in brussels speak 3/2 languages(dutch, french, english) so you won't get problems with talking + the people are very kind, o well... every city has his bad apples :P
which is no big loss, the best tourist destinations are in flanders anyway: brugge, gent & antwerp. brussels is a dump, the only thing worth seeing there is de grote markt/grand place.
As i can read some previous comments, some people need to be in a multi-cultural environment, to understand Brussels, and if maybe you can try Dubai if it won't be To cheaper for you asshole... Some one is trying to show you a beauty of some architecture
and history go back into your wood hills with your bears .... Retarded...
Nice video, personelly i dont like brussels its full of thugs btw ( and i dont mean the belgians, peaple who live here will know of what peaple am talking about.) For the peaple who lived in Belgium but live now in the us or canada is life better there i mean it looks to be cheaper to live, is it?
Depends on where you live in the US or Canada, just as it depends on where you live in Belgium... The US (nor Belgium) is not one homogenous place. And some places might be cheaper, others are far more expensive. Each has its pros and cons.
That is something that is not unique to Brussels. Almost every large city I've been to has this problem including the one I live in. That would be better left for a different video.
this is amazing video.i was once live in this city for 16yrs my two sons where born in bruxelles.i miss this city lots of good memories and lots of friends.and planning on going back to see once more yhis wonderfull city. Thanks for posting this video.
Thanks for watching allanratz. Although I haven't been to too many different countries, I can say with certainty that Brussels (Bruxelles) is the most beautiful city I have every been to. I can totally understand that you would miss it.
The Grote Markt/Grand Place and a few other sites in Brussels are wonderful, but it's far from the prettiest city in the world IMO. Really, you should travel more :) Even within Belgium itself there are quite a few cities with more delights on offer than Brussels, cities such as Antwerpen, Brugge, Gent, etc.
I really wish I was able to travel more. That would be terrific! There is so much to see and so little time (and money). BTW- I'm from Canada so it is quite a trip to get anywhere near Belgium.
I've never been to Sweden? Want to know why? Too boring. Except for some pretty landscapes there is nothing to do there, certainly not compared to Belgium (which has great food, beer, clubs, nightlife, culture, etc).
