Great advice, had about 500-1000 people dancing getting really crazy and I wanted to put in a new funky beat so I used your advice (The Trick) and to my surprise they loved it. for all the ppl that think he's a spaced out tard (looks the part for sure)...i've heard this happen tonnes of times on the dancefloor and ppl go wild.

you'd prolly run this sort of transition when you're drastically changing the bpm or if it sounds cool in context with whatever you have playing.

also it's more likely to be used in the mashup/ trainwreckin style of mixing.

what i find useful is using sfx to keep the crowd captivated (lazers, air horns, etc.)
