Look like the villains are chicken out then scared, and they imagine of an swamp demons, like this as it was Halloween in the Louisiana swamp at Halloween Night. Release on DVD in 2012, and 2013.
What do you think it would've been like if Merl Sheep, Hoots the Owl, and Gladys the cow were included in the special along with the other animals we see here?
Not only am I a HUGE muppets fan, but am also a 2nd grade teacher. I am always showing Muppet movies to my students. Bremen Town Musicians is one of the stories from our Reading series. I was absolutely thrilled that this video was here. Other than having to explain away the "jackass" comment, this worked out really well. Thanks for posting!
I had this show on a record with storybook as a kid and listened to it endlessly. I might have only seen the actual show once on TV and had wanted to see it again ever since. Thanks!
My brother and I had a tape of this when we were kids and always loved it. We've been searching for a copy on DVD but it doesn't seem to exist. This was a great find! Thanks for putting it up.
this was hilarious; I've only seen the Muppet movies and bits of the tv show. Now I've seen this and the Frog Prince and Hey Cinderella---great stuff, well-written and funny too!
I saw this thing just once, too many years ago to count. I never forgot it but I thought it was gone for ever. Tubaplayindonkey, thank you, thank you.
Absolute CLASSIC Jim Henson was a genius back then from short films like this to the Dark Crystal. I use to watch this numerous times with my little brother when we were little. We memorized the whole film...lol Man those were the days...I really pity new generation kids..many of them do no show interest in material like this anymore because they try to be too mature for their age.
@Blakmajik78: yeah, what was once puppetters are now replaced with Computer Graphics (except for Sesame Street but lately even that's not going so well for what I see ^^; )
I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. Just enjoy the performances. If you have take it apart to understand then you have left the path of wisdom. Please, please, just experience. Please.
Hey F1315NJ. Good spot! I never noticed that before. Jerry Nelson voiced both T.R. and Caleb Siles, who are both in the shots you cite. I'd bet Jerry is operating T.R. and someone else is wearing Caleb's body, but it's just a guess.
hey, u can see someones head manuvering TR the Rooster at 4:19-4:22 and 4:27-4:29 on the bottom left of the screen. i cant tell who's head that is. could be either Henson, Oz, or Nelson for all i know
You're welcome SnowGoddess. I only got to see it once, in the early 70's, on TV and was an instant fan. I had the record and listened to it over and over, following along in the album art, that featured stills from the show. I was so happy to be able to see it again when I found a DVD of it last year.
What an awsome story! Especially since the robbers were very superstitcious. I mean "swamp demons"? LOL!!! Anyway, thanks so very much for posting this! I really enjoyed it, and that's the truth!
I'd like to see Caleb Siles play Nosferatu.

The voice actors and puppeteers aren't always one and the same, though they would usually occupy the same space for continuity.

Yep - that album was awesome. As amazing as the actual production was, nothing beats a child's imagination fueled by records. God bless childhood.
