  • Incredible Band,Awesome Performance. Thanks So Much For Posting. To The 82 Mental Midgets,Go Back To Your Journey Web Page.

  • Hands down, best prog rock song ever!

  • I need a cape!

  • this song is still ahead of its time. nobody has ever matched it.

  • Ahhh, when music was grand and showmanship was how well you played your instrument!

  • Sad that the first video that pops up when searching Yes is a LMFAO video

  • It looks like 79 people accidentally hit the "dislike" button.

  • Thanks for this beautiful contribution. Yes was and will always be the best progressive rock band ever. A true masterpiece. A classic already!

  • Wow, is it just me or is Squire rushing a lot at the beginning?

  • @TheMartini1234 your rushing gods never wrong!!

  • Wow this is shit

  • where did all the good music go?

  • @dhong21 there is nothing better than YES music you cant handle Too Real check Ultimate YES record Beats rap or hop scotch

  • Thumbs up if you were bored and randomly searched yes and this came up

  • @TheRageFalcon I randomly searched Yes because I wanted to hear the band.

  • OH NO!!! UNLUCKY DOUBLE 13s!!! "Roundabout" peaked at No. 13 and spent a total of 13 weeks in the Billboard's Top 100 in 1972...

(But then again; there are thousands and thousands of songs on You Tube that never charted at all)

  • que temazo por favor!!!!!!

  • I knew a girl who tried to dance to this. She broke her leg.

  • Timeless wonderful song..

  • amazing this song only has 2 mil hits

  • steve howe, rick wakeman, jon anderson, amazing talent

  • @TheIrishlad12 Not forgetting the inspired bass (& interesting backing vocal style) of Mr Chris Squire... or Alan White on drums.

  • cool!

  • countless hours over many years of listening to and seeing countless bands and it all goes back to my first rock concert. Yes, Boston Garden, 73. Wish I could go back

  • All my musical education started with prog groups,....Tull, Yes, Queen, Zappa etc. I lean towards more melodic stuff, and not always impressed with the ambient domains that sometimes fill alot of prog music. I'm looking for great songwriting, AND good technical skills. That plus creativity=> virtuoso's only. I finally listened to Court of The Crimson King.............first prog/ sure......best?/ not so much. And Zappa might challenge that too!

  • This is pure talent. 5 guys that actually not only play but master their instruments. Not like the cheesie, gay, zero talent, pretend to be bad-ass hiphop crap that todays brain dead youth listen to today.

  • How is LMFAO above this masterpiece on YouTube search?!

  • @HappyMealGiel Because they suck. YouTube staff love crap artists.

  • 79 people are people.

  • still got every one of thier lps, these were the best days of my life! man i gotten old,lol

  • seen them so long ago, go everyone of their lps still in perfect shape, these were the days 4 me!

  • Nice!

  • @blackmaidentallica

That dumb synth sound is Rick wakeman yer dumb cunt fuck off you

  • awesome! just wank me off ter this vid better than jenna jameson

  • vote up if you despise Yes's dumb little synth sounds but still listen to them so hard !!!

  • @BlackMaidenTallica Yes's "dumb" synth sounds are not little first of all... Without them I don't think their best song "And You and I" would even set the glorious mood it sets correctly.

  • @Zyborggian I was only talking about this song lol, where at the end of every consecutive roll, theres a little synth riff that sounds like a fairy prancing about

  • I saw Apollo 18 on the plane the other day and I can confirm that dunbis is right that the Yes track played is 'And You and I'. What a travesty that his kid recorded over part of it!

  • i saw YES in germany when i was stationed there in the 70's. (74-76). they were THIS GOOD and everyone stood up for the entire show! I was pretty far back from the stage, but i was blown away from the beginning to the end. i don't know of anything comparable today. if you do, let me know and post.

  • mi papa tiene discos de Yes, Queen, The Beatles y mas le re encanta la musica me hizo escuchar a mi la musica desde los 6 años o 5 y me encanta! y lo quiero ver millones de veces!!!

  • happy new wife Rick Wakeman - Rachel & Rick!!!

  • okay all you yes fanantics, I have a question for you. If any of you reading this has seen the movie, "Apollo 18" then you'll you remember the astronaut that was playing a Yes song on a little mini tape recorder he took with him on the flight to the moon. WHAT WAS THE NAME OF THAT SONG HE WAS LISTENING TO???? I don't know and I am pleading with all you Yes heads to be able to help me out with this dilemma. It is a song I had heard before but I can't track it down on youtube to save my life.HELP

  • @chev202 I have not seen the movie, but according to yesfans.com the song is "And you and I"

  • god- bad memories. in 1975 i bought tickets for the reading pop festival because yes were headlining and i loved them.i was only 15 and it was loads of money to me. plus my parents would not have allowed me to go. i went anyway, sneaked out and hitched a lift, but my mate nicked my ticket so i couldnt get in. managed to bribe my way in but had no money left for food but chrissnas were there with free soup.

guess what? yep, these bastards never turned up! never listened to them again til now.

  • I saw them in 73 - wonder if this is Charleston, wv?

  • I grew up with this music!

  • Why does nobody care about Chris Squire? I swear on every yes vid it's about Steve Howe, why not about Chris? Why does nobody ever care about the bass guitar : (

  • that's Rick Wakeman on Key boards Rick Wakeman

  • no u didn't

  • didu see what steve howe just did?

  • e's playing with harmonics

  • Classic!

  • I keep forgetting many of the great guitarist. But how could I forget Steve Howe. I saw them live in Atlanta back in 1976 or so. Steve brought out a rack of abought 13 stringed instruments and played them all. I went to Peaches to get my sister tckets for Peter Frampton but they only had nose bleed seats left, so I ask if they had any other tickets. A Definite YES

  • YES , The close you gonna get to Heaven... on Earth !!!

  • these guys are good! so much talent. can I say 'Rush-like'

  • damn dude listen to that crowd roar at the end they wanted an encore!

  • Roundabout, in my opinion, is the definitive template from which all other progressive rock masterpieces have been created. This song was recorded and produced back in 1971. It was years ahead of its time. The arrangement and execution is stunning.

  • man! that riff full of harmonics is just amazing

  • Someone at rolling stone magizine company screwed up who was supposed to be on the list of top 100 guitarists by leaving steve out

  • @Cradley51 i know!! i was so pissed when i didnt see steve howe on that list.

  • Nothing can beat the artistry and musicianship of a group like Yes. They made the '70's a golden age for singer/songwriter groups. Nothing and no one can compare to them.

  • ummm, yes

  • Who was the drummer for this song? Bill Bruford or Alan White?

  • @Mentlegen01 Buford did the studio, but this was Alan. Alan had to learn the entire catalog in very little time (few days) to do this concert.

  • Alan White,Bill joined King Crimson and later Genesis.

  • listen to Close to the Edge by them! Amazing composition!!!

  • I loved this song in the 70's. and beyond.

  • I love the begining of this song when the guitar comes in my uncle played it after him and my dad got high which I don't like but I can't make them do what I want them to do but my uncle gets high and he plays guitar and he's really good he plays roundabout ,stairway to heaven all of them.

  • Esto es EFICIENCIA Rock. Espectacular.

  • Prerequisite for joining Yes...

Must be musically proficient...And own at least one cape.

  • awesome Steve Howe !!! :)

  • these guys are awesome...seriously this IS music

  • I remember waking up to my dad playing this on his old LP's. He was Yes' biggest fan. So much so that I am named after Jon Anderson. When I listen to Yes I feel like he is still here with us. I wish he lived long enough for me to get the chance to tell him how much I love this beautiful music. Hearing this song makes me feel like hes still here and everything is ok.

  • @captcrackhead That is totally cool for you to say that. I know what you mean -- but for me, the 'dad' is more of the great, peaceful, easy feelings I had as a young kid. Yes' music is such a strong association with the 70s / 80s. (PS: I named my son after Neil Young)! --

  • Comment removed

  • @cowewow I think he was referring to his father still being here, not Jon Anderson. But thanks for rehashing what I imagine to be a painful memory.

  • @captcrackhead That's beautiful.

  • @captcrackhead Everything is OK bro :-) and he is right here in your heart and memories

  • @captcrackhead Your Dad Will be Proud of ya.Cheers fellow Yes Fan.

  • @captcrackhead holy shit my dad named me after Jon Anderson too! Our fathers spirits live on and inhabit everything, especially the music of YES :)

  • @captcrackhead UUUUHHHH i'm pretty sure he's alive..

  • the bass guitar!!!

  • Such an amazingly talented band...

  • Steve Howe and Chris Squire are quite possibly the two most underrated musicians ever

  • @TheRandomCrazyMan

I know Steve Howe's name doesn't get mentioned as much now in these stupid polls of "greatest guitarist ever," but back in the day, he was voted No.1 by Guitar Player magazine's poll year after year after year....ahead of Hendrix, Beck, Page, Clapton etc.

But, you are on track re. Chris Squire. Maybe because there was so much focus on the playing of Howe and Rick Wakeman, everybody forgot about how much Chris Squire revolutionized playing the bass.

  • chris squire as batman.

  • few can copy that let alone invent it

  • bitches

  • STEVE HOWE

  • The greatest artists in the history of Earth. In my opinion, no other artist in the history of Earth recorded music has ever matched Yes as far as sheer brilliance, positiveness, originality, power and effectiveness.

Listen to The Gates of Delirium and Awaken if you don't believe me. Awaken contains the answer to life and The Gates of Delirium is music that sounds other-worldly. Until the day that another's music affects me as much as this band, there's no way I could ever change my mind. :)

  • @JimSVoit Maybe in another galaxy that we haven't found life in yet is there musicians that could top Yes, but until that day....

  • I like this quite a bit. It's not my favorite stuff, but it's got a lot of good qualities. Yes could get away with songs over 5 minutes a lot better than some of the groups back then and most of the jam band tards now. This at least has some direction in the way the music goes.

However, just because you don't wack off your instrument every song doesn't mean you sux at making music. If you put together songs on a program using electronic drums, bass and samples it doesn't mean you're talentless.

  • @musicphan1 Vangelis is a perfect example of an extremely talented user of synth.

  • @MrRICK961 Well, if you mean in this style, you're pretty close. I'm sure there are a few indie underground bands that do stuff in this style and maybe even at least as good, they just haven't found the right people to promote them. As far as quality, you've got to be joking. For one, there are tons of underground groups that make killer music. Also, there's a ton of great dance pop/trance/house music that's being made. Just because its not what you like doesn't mean it sux. And Yes is great!

  • I've seen all different lineups of YES in the five concerts I got a chance to go to. I have to admit that when I caught their shows in 1975 and 78, they seemed to be a little ragged....maybe they were touring too much, doing too many shows. Best one I recall is the 8 man lineup for the Union Tour...back in 91 I think. The album they were supporting was weak, but the shows -- with doubled lead guitars, drums and keyboards was fantastic!

  • YES I LIKE THIS SONG!!ROCK ON!!!!!!

  • Yes has been in my heart and soul always. Thanks for the video. Rock on.

  • I always underestimated Steve Howe but I was wrong....

  • Saw them for the first time at Cambridge on Tuesday. Absolutely mezmerizing, best gig I've ever been to.

  • Great stuff!! Love this era. You can tell it's from the 70s cuz Steve Howe doesn't look like an old Asian man from a B-movie and Jon Anderson isn't dressed like your grandmother!

  • bad frontman. what a boring dude. doesn't matter if you have the best voice in the world if you just sit there like a bump on a log....ugh. hard to watch.

  • @MrChrisplaysdrums

Bullshit! Back in the 70's, it was all about the music, not dancing around on stage like your in some goddamn Broadway show. I thank MTV for killing rock and pop music, and turning into the crap we have today that can't be distinguished from TV commercials!

  • Stheno & Euryale love Yes!

  • I notice that Jon's movements and mannerisms on stage have changed over the years. He seems a little clumsy in the early shows, but developed movements that fit the music better as time went on.

  • genius

  • 1st time saw these at my college, I paid 70p for a ticket!! God, how old does that make me sound! They are an an all time class act , like them or loathe them, no-one can argue with the sheer musicanship. In my humble opinion at their peak with the 'Close to the Edge' album.

  • oh from the movie

  • probably the best band of its type in the 70s, ELP...similar, and who could say Tull and Zappa wern't of this caliber. But Yes always was a tight band live. This rendition is proof, note for note almost identical to the studio version. Amazing talent found in each member.

  • 74 people drowned in the lake

  • I saw Yes with the most of the classic lineup...I have seen a lot of shows and heard many musicians...Chis Squire is one of the best players and showman of his era...Lead Fucking Bass and with Steve Howe...RIck Wakeman...John Anderson when he is on point...Just fucking Amazing...Patrick Moraz on Keyboards when I first saw them in 77....Pure Greatness...Fuck Foster the Retarded People..Bierber...Fuck 'Em All!!!!

  • Thumbs up! If rockband3 brought u.here!

  • MR. SHARON STONE GUESS INTERNATIONAL INSTRUCTION MANUAL PROCESSOR 3317 ALAN DAVIES

  • Comment removed

  • chris squire has an excellent Spock haircut

  • drummers alan white I'll be damned if I know the singers name lol

  • that's Rick Wakeman on keyboards

  • chris squire is good also but not near Howe's level

  • @Syzygy60 So let's compare apples with potatoes... it's not a valid comparison

  • non like him

  • a guitar phenom

  • Steve Howe

  • 9 minutes of bombastic killer guitar and not one blues riff to be heard

    Take that Eric and Jimmy

  • I loved this as a child!

  • @Hoelzelc The Mars Volta don't write, they compose. I completely agree!

  • 73 lady gaga fans lol

  • My only problem with this video is that when I really wanted to see Chris Squire rock out during his intro and we got a 1 second shot of him around 40 seconds, from the side.

  • My first Yes concert. Charlotte,N.C. Oct.3,1972 Son born March 6,1973 Name Jon Anderson.

  • I'm thankful for my high school boyfriend in the 70s. He introduced me to this genre of music. Today it is best known as "Classic Rock" My stations - Classic Vinyl, Classic rewind :)

  • Mr. S sent me here.

  • My god, Steve Howe is amazing. Its like he combines Classical, Blues, and Rock into one package.

  • 71 people dislike the fact that they don't have ears.

  • why cant new music be great like this it so much good talent

  • This concert makes my wish I had a time machine.

  • omg magician/elf/wizard looking dude on keyboard is amazing.

  • 当時衝撃を受けた曲です。みんなが、好き勝手にソロを入れたり、(えぇ~!みたいなのに、完成度高くて、驚きました。
