This heartbreaking scene is unfortunately not really connected with the rest of the film. There is nowhere before, any really strong hint that Fanis was really living for this, and that Sayme was the love of his life he was looking forward to meet again with. If so, why did he have to wait for so long! So, this part of the movie, though really its best, comes so to say, out of nowhere!
