I had a problem with this, too.

took me forever to figure out what it was. it appears that he's just strumming the notes you pick at the beginning of the chorus as chords.

I see this was posted a month ago, so you've probably figured it out by now.

when you do a pinch harmonic your basicly touching the string you are plucking lightly. and as soon as you pluck that string you simontanously release your finger from string.

Place your finger over the A or D string fret however don't apply pressure to the string, just touch it so. Hit the string and remove your finger, you should get a good ring.

ok so i know this may sound pretty ridiculous but how exactly do you play "harmonic?" i just started learning how to play acoustic (on my own). and my 4th string (D) sounds NOTHING like yours. so when i play the song it sounds like crap. and i've been tuning it for hours but i cant get it right. ahhh! help! lol

Fairly good tutorial. As a suggestion, I would say you could just script out the notes (or as you call them d1, etc.) so that there is no confusion in your lesson. Otherwise, good.

I had hoped you would show angles that would better display where your fingers were going;that or what we teachers,such as we are, can do that is tweaking our hands so people with little or no experience can see and understand more instantainiously... you follow? if you would have done that early on... I could have picked it up with just a couple progressions. A- 5 stars

actually he is in dropped d not open d, the tuning he mentioned is DADGBE the sixth string is down one step. He is playing it exactly, and he is mentioning the notes the same as he plays. Pay attention and people wont have to rexplain things

play a harmonic by lightly touching the string on either the 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th, and most notably on the 12th. Pull off as soon as you strike the note. Practice on the 12th fret where it is mostly audible.

You play the song well, and it helped me fix the tabs I found on Fretplay to more accurately resemble the song, but on the video after 4:33 you just take off and I get lost. After that point, I can't tell what you're playing. Up until that point, though, the video is very helpful. Thanks for posting it.
