A manned aircraft with conventional propulsion, fuel and weapons (albeit with the claim of lasers), along with zero space-based capacities is not exactly what I would call spectacular. The manpower, resource (on-vechile, CVs and economic) and efficiency/effectiveness drain from having them manned is irresponsible and decreases economic and military performance. Furthermore given the technologically restrained US industry any attempt to make such a plane would be worse than the F35 lol.

There needs to be an alternative to satellites. @eyeAMtwinkEE SU-35 is going into production as the SU-35S and will supplement their PAK FA stealth jet, well if all goes to plan. Numbers will definitely be larger than F-22 numbers but then there will be 2000 F-35s and over 600 allied Typhoons.

@532bluepeter Good observation, but I think it is possible to be very aerodynamic. On all aircraft there is a level of resistance from the air it's passing through. It is probably that this aircraft meets much much less resistance when passing through air.
The F/A XX is a conceptual design. What the aircraft might actually look like will be quite different. When the original Air Force's ATF program was in it's initial phases of development, in the early 80s, designs ranged quite a bit with an emphasis on the radical.
@IntronDepot1 agility-wise, then the Su-27/30 and other variants and also the Su-35 would have a good chance against the Raptor The new T-50/ PAK FA is apparently designed to be more maneuvreable than the F-22 but less stealthy. But in terms of avionics, then the F-22 seems far superior. Really, we don't know how well a Russian jet would do against an F-22, as we've never seen it happen.
@IntronDepot1 we've seen American jets against Russian-made fighters, such as the F-15 against the MiG-29 (Gulf War) - the F-15 won the fight due to superior training of american pilots and also due to the fact that the MiG-29 (and most other Russian fighters) were downgraded export versions of the standard Russian design which were of significantly less capability. The proper version would have had a fairly good chance against American aircraft.

People denigrated the f117 and the b2 from day 1, and yet they have performed beyond expectations, and the nay-sayers were found to be full of it. Of course we are presently designing 6th gen manned and unmanned planes, which will be available about the time the Russian and Chinese planes are due to be in production. @wiganerrmc the story you are thinking is factual with the EF/F-22 about 4 years ago is made up. The first EF/F-22 ACM exercises happened about 5 months ago. There were 6 exercises flown, 3 from BVR and 3 from WVR and the F-22 won all 6. The supposed exercises with the F-15's were made up as well. Maybe if you read up a little more on the topic you would know what is fact and what is hogwash. The EF bleeds energy faster than both the F-16 and F-15 because of its deltawing config..

The Typhoons managed to smash a formation of eight F-15s which had the role of the attacker with the first Eurofighter jet managing to "shoot down" four F-15 fighter jets. The second Eurofighter managed to disable three F-15 jets.

The first engagement between the F-22/EF happened about 5 months ago and even the RAF pilots stated it was frustrating flying against the F-22. A manned aircraft with conventional propulsion, fuel and weapons (albeit with the claim of lasers), along with zero space-based capacities is not exactly what I would call spectacular. The manpower, resource (on-vechile, CVs and economic) and efficiency/effectiveness drain from having them manned is irresponsible and decreases economic and military performance. Furthermore given the technologically restrained US industry any attempt to make such a plane would be worse than the F35 lol.

There needs to be an alternative to satellites. It should have anti gravity and an engine capable of interplanetary flight and a novel fuel source It should be capable of minimum of 200 times Mach. The F/A XX is a conceptual design. What the aircraft might actually look like will be quite different. When the original Air Force's ATF program was in it's initial phases of development, in the early 80s, designs ranged quite a bit with an emphasis on the radical.

But in terms of avionics, then the F-22 seems far superior. Really, we don't know how well a Russian jet would do against an F-22, as we've never seen it happen.

@IntronDepot1 we've seen American jets against Russian-made fighters, such as the F-15 against the MiG-29 (Gulf War) - the F-15 won the fight due to superior training of american pilots and also due to the fact that the MiG-29 (and most other Russian fighters) were downgraded export versions of the standard Russian design which were of significantly less capability. The proper version would have had a fairly good chance against American aircraft.

The 10th gen fighter will be of saucer-like shape, with rolling +/- ion drive (by dumping opposite charged ions in front of the craft to attract the craft forward) as the main mean of propulsion, anti-inertial braking to minimize the effect of punishing g-force, and multi-axis maneuver capability (by simply rotating the drive 90 degrees so that the craft always flies in straight lines and turns at right angles, no banking involved) - just like a ufo. @BBEEAAN All american and nato aircraft, which the F-22 is made to improve upon... Yes, it proves it is good at beeing better then aircraft it will never face in combat, however it does not prove it is the best aircraft in the world.

@NiamOfAsuras the F-15 and F-16 are currently the top aircraft in the world based on combat records. The F-22 will rape anything that flies against it and you can state what you want about it, I feel sorry for the pilots who are going to fly against it. The F-22, even piloted by pilots with no time in the aircraft, are destroying pilots with thousand of logged flight hours. If it wasnt as good as that, it wouldnt be doing what it is doing at RF.

@BBEEAAN is that why a eurofighter shot down a f-22 in ex and the EF pilots even asked for a rematch and US f-22 pilots dropped out haha and 2 eurofgihters took on 8 f-15s and shot them all down even tho the f-15 was in attacking and the EF out turned them and shot them down also 1 EF beat 3 f-16s
so how are thay the best f-15 or f-16 as never gone up against a good jet in real combat thats the only reason there record is good even tho f-15 ment have 100% record which is lies

@wiganerrmc the story you are thinking is factual with the EF/F-22 about 4 years ago is made up. The first EF/F-22 ACM exercises happened about 5 months ago. There were 6 exercises flown, 3 from BVR and 3 from WVR and the F-22 won all 6. The supposed exercises with the F-15's were made up as well. Maybe if you read up a little more on the topic you would know what is fact and what is hogwash. The EF bleeds energy faster than both the F-16 and F-15 because of its deltawing config..

@wiganerrmc so I find it very hard to believe that the EF will easily handle an F-15 or F-16 unless it is supersonic where the horizontal is slightly in the EF's favor.

@BBEEAAN hahha no its not made up even the official eurofighter website so dont lie
two Eurofighters involved in a dogfight simulation "against" the F-15s enjoyed full control of the engagement. The Typhoons managed to smash a formation of eight F-15s which had the role of the attacker with the first Eurofighter jet managing to "shoot down" four F-15 fighter jets. The second Eurofighter managed to disable three F-15 jets.

@wiganerrmc that was not from the EF's website and the same website stated the same thing about the F-22 which, never happened. The first engagement between the F-22/EF happened about 5 months ago and even the RAF pilots stated it was frustrating flying against the F-22. Trust me I have been reading up on the engagements for quite sometime. The supposed EF cockpit shot that was PS, yeah, that was part of the same story....

@BBEEAAN no it was the EF pilots who posted it about the f-22 but thay was told thay have to remove it my mates in 11 squadron who flys the eurofighter he told me all about these things im also in the military but im a royal marine commando so im no expert on aircraft but i no abit
and yes in india india didnt let US use some equipment and india won 90% of the battle mocks but in red flag US did alot better US even trained the IAF pilots to take off quicker

@wiganerrmc incorrect, the story has been all over the internet about the EF/F-22 with the supposed EF hud shot that was photoshopped and not even an EF cockpit. 4 years ago the only planes that saw the F-22 in ACM were the USAF and USN F-18's. It didnt happen until 5 months ago when the EF got raped. You can find all sorts of info on how it is hogwash all over the net...

@BBEEAAN hahaha it never happend 5 months ago lol i can remember when EF won the f-22 because it was all over the news and EF didnt even do an ex with US 5 months ago so i dont no wot you are onabout the EF as only ever done about 4 mock dogfights and won everyone the was one were the EF lost but that was in WVR and the EF pilots who was flying was not trained in WVR because these days its very rare you would get that close

@wiganerrmc why dont you go and look up the data right now on the supposed news sites. It wasnt posted on the news it was posted on blogs and it never happened. It wasnt on the EF sites, it was no where to be found. You cant even find the EF and the F-22 in the same area 4 years ago. You like to read things and then think it is fact when it isnt. The EF cockpit photo for the supposed instance was done photoshop and was mocked. You do know that they do WVR exercises right?

There was never any news on the EF downing an F-22 in ACM, it was only done on blogs. Any moron can state things on a blog. He stated that the F-22 is beyond anything that he has flown but, the EF has handling that is comparable to the F-22. You misquote things, adding in information, just like your supposed EF shoots down F-22 nonsense that happened 4 years ago. It never happened and I highly doubt you know anyone who has flown the EF considering your terrible recalling of statements made by the only pilot..

Once again if your mate flew and EF and you are in the military you would know that the blog that was posted, with the fake photoshop EF cockpit, did not happen 4 years ago. You would also know the only pilots flying the EF are the best pilots in the RAF, with your grammar I highly doubt you know one of those pilots and dyslexia would disqualify you from service....

@wiganerrmc I suggest you read up on albert einstein because he didnt have dyslexia, that nonsense has been disproven. Google Albert Einstein's Biographers Disprove Claim of a Learning Disability and take a read. Dyslexia is a problem that the military takes seriously and will disqualify you from entering service unless you can show that you can pass their tests. This is why I doubt you are in the military with dyslexia with the current grammar you are exhibiting.

@BBEEAAN i have passed the test in the royal marines we have to do a harder test than any over unit in the british military and i failed my english the first time and had to wait a year before i could try again and just because i have bad grammer dont mean nout i was 1 of only 6 people to pass the commando course out of 55
and anyway i went to collage before i joined and im a level 3 qualified Joiner so even when i come out the marines i can easy make over $100.000 a year alot more than you

No, you have no idea so why dont you relax and try not assuming that im an ignoramus who cant make money. You failing your test for the military would have disqualified you from service. This is what happens when you fail tests in the military when you have a handicap. This is why I doubt you are in the military and know people who are pilots of the EF.

@BBEEAAN in the marines if you fail you have to wait a year but in the amry think its 6 months but i dont no anyone who as failed the barb test for the amry because its so easy i passed it when i was gona join the paras but changed it because iv always wanted be a royal marine and the barb test as nout do with english its just general knowledge and working things out

@wiganerrmc I could totally pwn you about the US military vs the British military in Iraq by simply showing areas we left in charge of the British and the French were lost after the USArmy left the area but, I wont do that. Both US and British armies have great personnel and there is no doubt when it comes to kills vs deaths, that USARMY can handle its own in combat. Any army in the world doesnt care about its people, you are a number for the meat grinder, its a fact, accept it...

I love the ingenuity of the people who design the weapons the military use and the people who get to use them but, I refuse to be a number for a government that use things like agent orange on troops and wont accept their responsibility for the damage done..
