  • this band is christian??

  • this band are closer to pure death than deathcore, even with the piercings and stuff..

lovely sound guys..you are gonna kick them...

  • @anormalnick

piercings have nothing to do with death metal cred, idiot.

  • @MentallyGuitardeded why are you insulting me? another trolling piece of scum..hahaha.. didnt you understand I was joking? ironic? hahaha..what a loser..

the internet if full of shitty childs like you..

  • i love from 2 min on in this song

  • So much beard \m/

  • brrrruuuuttttalllll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • they broke up its on their wiki page

  • @zombiemovierater3 fuck wiki they didnt go check their fb

  • @screamobeast No they actually did disband because of a strain it put on all band members and their families. Especially when their studio burned to the ground including all their new songs they recorded so they had to start from scratch.

  • @218disturbed damn thats bad this band is really fucking awesome

  • YOU SYMBOLIZE HOPE

  • Is that Rob Arnold from Chimaira?

  • Let me just say this, my top five favorite bands WERE All Shall Perish, Chelsea Grin, August Burns Red, Asking Alexandria, Impending Doom. I think I may have to rethink this and Def. put The Famine Somewhere in there. Best lyrics I have heard in a VERY long time. The Famine is DEF. bringing the heavy!!

  • The famines last show tonight at tomcats west in fort worth tx. Come check show some love and check out the other bands.

DEI ÆMETH(my band I play drums for)

    Primordius

    Prophecy

Silene and baring teeth. Doors at 7:30pm.

  • I was a fan of this band when the first album came out. But, I wasn't thrilled about the lead singer change-up. The second album I thought was a deviation from their previous work. The sound was ok, but I really didn't appreciate the lyrically topics. It seemed to be all preachy about political BS like Lamb of God (not a fan) puts out like how all rednecks are racist and that those that tend to be more politically conservative are dim-whitted fools. Sorry, but a big disappointing turn-off (IMO).

  • @Mosh4Yesh777

I have to agree, there was more of a beasest like thing going on. I mean Scar the Earth With A Sword up against this song.....hands down 1st album way better.

  • @VicHerbert For sure. Better lyrics, better vocals, and an all-around better death metal album..

  • @Mosh4Yesh777 Could not agree with you more. The first album is on my top 5 favorites of all time. Yet the second album was so nearly "anti-Christian" (very very close to the line if not over it) that I was a second away from returning it. Which would've been the first time I'd ever returned a Christian album. I decided to keep it and I like a few songs (including the redneck one) but the lyrical subject matter is blah. Like listening to Eminem where every other song is hating on someone/thing.

  • THIS IS WHAT METAL IS ALL ABOUT!!!

    DEATH TO ALL NEW METAL!!!

  • @learrus then check out born if osiris. new metal that is brutal as hell and delicious.

  • what's the lyrics

  • The little harmony before the solo was totally influenced by metallicas blackened. Or it sounds really close anyways. Love these guys, awsome vid.

  • This Video Was Uploaded on Valentines Day....LOL

  • @prosentron1 Shut your whore mouth your fucking goober pansy ass piece of shit.

  • @JesusDiedlol667 ASSHOLE!!I can say what I want to say...I dont care of stupis feelings or whatever...You're nothing but a DUMBASS!!haha

  • @prosentron1 Shut up dumbass.

  • @JesusDiedlol667 Asshole

  • @prosentron1 You're so stupid you can't think of anything else to say XD This is so pathetic. Look at how terrible your grammar and spelling is. Either you're some 12 year old or just have a really low IQ.

  • @JesusDiedlol667 whatever

  • That's the Russian reanimation project, some scary stuff.... Great song \m/

  • \m/ \m/

  • Yes! I love fast metal songs with black and white clips of soldiers marching, tanks, mushroom clouds, microscopic germs, riots, meat being made in factories, buildings collapsing, people cheering before the president speaks, children worrying, and massive amounts of airplanes.

  • i am a christain, i am a follower of Jesus Christ. he saved my life and my future! and i enjoy many non christain band as well as many christain bands. the band is EPIC! i pray for the members of the band who r not saved, WHILE I ENJOY THE MUSIC!!

  • @metalhead22burks yeah but what if the bands that are non christians bash God? do you still listen to them?

  • @jesussycar777 no i wont to an exstent,..if its a band hell bent angaint Christ, then no, but there are plenty of secular bands that dont bash God.

  • @metalhead22burks oh yeah i agree i was just asking

  • ever since the singer made it public that hes an atheist everyone's been so hard on them!! this guy was in the band for 2 years before he became singer i dont know why its such a big deal now and not before when he was bassist! the other dudes are christian so whats the big freaking deal just enjoy their music!

  • is this a christian band?

  • @jesussycar777

    no, the drummer is though

  • I love how in your face this album is xD

  • Comment removed

  • @someweirdwigger Solid State Records signed some non-Christian bands.

  • I was view #15000. :)

  • Rest In Peace.

  • you fucking christian fags are pissing me off

  • @JamesAnderyourstruly why you mad bro

  • One of the very few bands you come across in awhile and say wow they're really good and the vocals are amazing so sad they disbanded

  • sorry to burst your bubbles but I am a Christian and this band is not Christian, I am not sure if this was posted back, but it isn't, love the band though listened to this album a million times and it never gets old!

  • Quit arguing over stupid shit. I'm pretty sure God doesn't care what you look like he only cares whats in your heart and what you do. And being christian has nothing to do with "going to church" or never swearing or dressing nice. Its about living for God and living every day like Jesus did. Jesus hung out with people out side of the church that were considerede "evil". Besides that your argument against"christian metal" is invalid. And the band isn't christian.

  • not a christian band. only on a christian label

  • ANYWAYS... This band said they have never been a Christian band so no more religious talk k.

  • @ActsChurchFire That's true.

  • Just a couple examples for edification and lolz

Psalms 98:4 - Shout joyfully to the LORD, all the earth; Break forth and sing for joy and sing praises. - HARDCORE

Psalms 33:3 - Sing to Him a new song; Play 'skillfully' with a 'shout' of joy. - TECH DEATH METAL.

  • @ActsChurchFire been sayin that for years finally someone who agrees

  • @ActsChurchFire

ok wat about the harp in verse Psalms 33:2 Praise the Lord with melodies on the lyre; make music for him on the ten-stringed harp

  • @ActsChurchFire awesome interpretation dude keep it up and God bless xD

  • @ActsChurchFire

    Amen to that !!!!

  • thumbs up if debates over religion never goes anywhere/ is annoying.

  • i like potatoes.

  • Did they get a new singer or did he just lose a lot of fat?

  • Comment removed

  • @dogeymon83 Your interpretation of this video might be "These guys think explosions are awesome", but if you know your Latin then you should be able to figure out that the meaning of the title is "to/toward death". You think they might be making a statement about us destroying ourselves? It seems obvious to me. Of course you won't see it if you dismiss it out of hand due to elitism. Even Classical was once dismissed as the devil's music back in its day.

  • @dogeymon83 It was music like this that made me a Christian in the first place. Sure, now that I've been a Christian for years, I also like stuff like Hillsong United, but I can guarantee you I wouldn't be a Christian today without music like the Famine. If the only Christian music around was the stuff that says "Praise Jesus!" 30 times in a row, I wouldn't be interested in God.

  • @SchecterMeinl - Well, with all due respect, you've missed the entire modus operandi of what being a christian means. Being in Christ means to let go completely of the self and everything the self desires. You wouldn't be interested in God without the metal music??? Do you understand what you're saying with such a statement? You're in it for the music, then. That's what it boils down to.

  • @SchecterMeinl - Please don't take me as trying to put you down. But I've read what you said carefully and here's how it sounds to me. It sounds like you're saying: "If christianity didn't involve the music I want to spend most of my time listening to, I wouldn't give two rips about God." You basically just said, God means nothing to you if metal music isn't involved.

  • @dogeymon83 Actually, you're right. That's how was it was in the start: I was a new Christian, but I thought most of the "peaceful" Christian stuff was boring. In the beginning, I only wanted to be part of the "Metal Christianity." However, after some time of growing into the Lord and learning about His love as well as His vengeance, I can now appreciate everything God has done. Like I said, I have learned to like more than just metal, but I wouldn't be a Christian without it to start my Walk.

  • @SchecterMeinl - Well that certainly has a different ring to it. What you said before certainly came off as completely different. I am glad you appreciate other things. Truth be told, it doesn't matter if it's you listening to metal, or me listening to lighter stuff. I think we can agree on one thing: that music definitely being worshipped more than God nowadays. Not by everyone, by any means. But we spend more time in music appreciation than God appreciation a ton in this culture.

  • I can't believe these guys are breaking up! What gives?

  • This band is so BEAST. The drummer kills it.

  • i like kris more

  • too bad,the last good band on solid state breaks up.

  • Thanks for insulting Solid State's biggest band, Demon Hunter and implying they're not a good band.

  • @Rawk4Life I used to love them,3 years ago. solid state isnt a good label because its almost nothing but metalcore. demon hunters riffs are really bland in my opinion,I could almost say terrible. Ryan clark is a fairly good vocalist but after the first 3 albums demon hunter has been soft. the only reason I bothered touching "The world is a thorn" was because christian alvestam did guest vocals on one track.

The only hope solid state has is Becoming the archetype, and there going down hill.

  • Is Becoming the Archetype really going downhill, or do you just say that because you're disappointed that their new album isn't like Terminate Damnation? Also, I think you need to re-look at SSR's roster. The Showdown, Living Sacrifice, Soul Embraced, Trenches, Norma Jean, Emery, The Ascendicate, Underoath, and The Chariot are most definitely not metalcore. Maybe one half of the bands are, but not most of them.

  • @Rawk4Life I would like the showdown if they would pick a style and stick with it. Their first 2 releases sucked but the most recent one was great.

Living sacrifice has been metalcore since they released the hammering process.

    Norma Jean is metalcore

    not into emery

    the ascendicate is metalcore

underoath is one of the biggest metalcore bands around

    dont like trenches.

The chariot are really just fairly technical metalcore.

I do love soul embraced though, but they left the label early this year.

  • Wow! You really have no idea what metalcore is.

Underoath is screamo and has been since 2000.

    The Ascendicate is melodic hardcore.

Metalcore has breakdowns, something which The Ascendicate, Norma Jean, and Underoath rarely do.

  • @Rawk4Life actually,I don't think you know what metalcore is. breakdowns don't make something metalcore, metalcore is a mix of hardcore punk and metal.

  • @Rawk4Life And I was fine with BTA's change from terminate damnation. I loved dichotomy more than the first 2 but so far I don't like the clean vocals I'v heard on celestial completion. I do have to admit that the riffs on it seem good and marks voice doesn't sound forced like it did on dichotomy so I'll probably buy it regardless.

  • R.I.P

  • They are good, oh well. They are no more.

  • this sucks their breaking up! :(

  • Feels like my heart's been torn out now. They just broke up. :,(

  • this song is so powerful

  • i cant even tell you all how this makes me feel. I followed these guys through the early days of embodyment, then all the good member left...then these guys got back together, and formed the famine. I was so happy. now, years later, they go and release this....this is so brutal!!!!!!!!! these guys have gotten SOOOO much better over the years

  • @kaliforniakorpse Thumbs up! Totally agree! I remember listening to Embodyment on "This is solidstate vol1". So rad they are back doing there thing. Good stuff, bought the record yesterday and absolutely love it

  • This reminds me so much of Living Sacrifice...

  • @stopsinninservejesus except the famine whoops them skill-wise. but LS is great, seen em live...

  • The opening riff is the coolest thing I ever heard.

  • I'm from Chile and i like P86 and haste the day and music like tht but this its... HARD like a crack's adict ( i like the message of the song (y))

  • @a5hatch yeah, this is a new lead singer. I can't remember why Chris isn't singing for them anymore. I think in one of there videos about the making and recording of the album they said it was best if he didn't come back as singer. Hope that helps. :D

  • I could be wrong, but I got the feeling that chris was having some personal problems, and it was getting in the way of the commitment of the band

  • @kaliforniakorpse They're goodbye announcement said he had a family emergency and had to go take care of a dying family member. :\

  • watch?v=SAGOZq_eE2Y&feature=related

  • it's music videos like this that feed modern society's A.D.D. is there a single clip in this video longer than 1 1/2 seconds?

  • @throughtheblack squirrel! soccer!

  • Musically I like this, but I'm not a big fan of the vox. Maybe something I can get used to.

  • More people need to hear this!

  • Fidelis ad mortem!

  • 1:51-1:53 i heard "lobster lips"

  • *lost

  • Did the famine get a new lead singer? or did he lose a lot of weight? I remember the guy looking a lot different on the stronger than hell tour, but that was almost 3 years ago!

  • @a5hatch Their bassist took over the vocals.

  • really love this THE FAMINE thing! thanks! god bless always

  • @chaseh6 THe cathloic church and christianity didn't split up until after these event took place. Plus the church never got rid of tithe you can still be excommunicated if you don't pay it, it's just not enforced but the governement anymore. Also, that doesn't help explain rapist priests and the attempt of the church to cover it up. One more thing, the pro. reformation just added another branch to the religion not fix the problem.

  • @RexIsDead Correction, Roman Catholicism is a form of Christianity. To alienate them and call them another religion is like saying people from Maine aren't Americans.

  • on of the best death metal !!

  • @gloguros NOT Death Metal.

  • Comment removed

  • This band isnt a christian metal band. Also christianity as an institution (i am not attacking personal beliefs) is corrupt and two faced. They just want your money (look up tithe) and the commandments are expendible in their eyes (look up crusades and anything about the molestations in the church)

  • @RexIsDead you are describing the catholic church haha. the protestant reformation dealt with all of that stuff and that was about 800 years ago.

  • @RexIsDead not a christian band but all the members are indeed christians

  • @kaliforniakorpse except for the vocalist. Hes atheist. Still an awesome band, or used to be band.

  • I like metal, and jesus is cool for you, but fuck christian trolls, GTFO of the metal videos.

  • Are they a bit anti-catholic? xD

  • Saying that this music can't be Christian because of it's appearance is a prime example of the legalistic attitude that Jesus criticized the Pharisees for having. Moreover, Telling a functional ministry to change their tactics which are already effective because you as a Christian don't want to look bad is hindering the work of Christ.

  • @HeLLoMrXtReMe72993 - I wouldn't compare such things to one another. Jesus warned of becoming OF the world. And every time we try to be honest with ourselves about what becoming OF the world means, we keep making excuses. Because we don't want to give up what we want. I can't say what all of you who fill your heads all day with this stuff is like on the inside. But all I can say is be studying the bible without end. Leave little time for listening to stuff like this. Trust me.

  • @dogeymon83 studying the bible "without end" leaves little time to be picking petty fights on youtube too.

  • @SharkMako - This is a conversation about society and the music industry. Something christians ought to discuss about. What in the world is petty about this??

  • @dogeymon83 its petty because it is of no benefit to anyone. EVEN IF what you are saying is true, its like going into a bar and telling people they shouldnt drink. They would just ask you what you are doing in the bar. But I firmly believe that this music is not only Christian, but also more meaningful and less fake than the worship music that is out today.

  • @SharkMako - Hmmm, ok, so you compare listening to this wretched music to drinking alcohol. In another light, metal maniacs to alcoholics. Now it's making sense. Tell me, what makes worship music "fake" and "less meaningful" pray tell? Is it fake if it's gentle, respectful, reserved, and not loud, angry, and demonic sounding? If people bring all total focus to Christ with straightforward, worship lyrics, and not vague, rambling, drivel, does that make it "meaningless"? What do you mean?

  • @dogeymon83 look, dont twist my words. it just makes you look like a dumbass. and i didnt say all worship music is fake. it is very easy to fake worship songs like that though. ask my former worship pastor who turned gay. and dont state your opinions of what this sounds like as if it were fact. By the way, have you heard a demon? Cause i have and it sounds nothing like this. You need to have respect for the talent God has given these people and how they are using it to reach out to people.

  • @SharkMako - Simple, respectful, questions. That's all these are. I asked what you believe qualifies as "fake" worship music. I'm trying to understand the meaning behind the things you seem to carelessly say. We often do that in today's culture. Just say whatever we want to make sure that we're correct. Me, on the other hand, I'm trying to understand what your'e talking about. Show at least a degree of respect and maybe answer the question. What's an example of "fake" worship music?

  • @dogeymon83 an example of fake worship music is when the people singing the songs are just going through the motions and dont have any emotion behind what they are saying. that is faking it. and you twisted what i said about the bar. when did i say "whatever i want to make sure we're correct?" and you are really asking me to show you respect? i havent shown you any disrespect at all. you disrespected me by twisting what i said. dont put yourself on a pedestal.

  • @SharkMako - You're talking about people who have a lack of emotion and don't have their heart in what they're singing. That has nothing to do with the music. That's about people who are not filled with the spirit. So that didn't really make sense. Forget about the bar for a moment. I'm sorry. Lyrically speaking, this band's words are cynical, sometimes violent natured (in order to appeal to metal heads). Lyrics like "special place in hell for you". Taking pleasure in demise.

  • @dogeymon83 that has EVERYTHING to do with the music. music in itself is just a bunch of notes and noises and sometimes words. its what is BEHIND the music that gives it meaning and purpose. if you are playing just to play you are missing the entire point of playing and it is therefore fake. I havent looked into this bands lyrics so i cant argue for or against them. but look at august burns red's lyrics or for today's lyrics. those are impactful

  • @ SharkMako - all I mean to say is this. The way evil works in the world is careful, little by little, blending evil with good so that the two are indistinguishable from one another. I just think music like this brings baggage with it that doesn't not go together with the fullness of the gospel. If this kind of music wanted its lyrics to really resemble what christ taught, it would sound corny and silly. That's why they make it sound violent and cynical because that sells better.

  • @dogeymon83 name one time in the bible that Jesus was corny and silly. I dont worship a God that is corny and silly and a mainstream americanized version of Jesus. You wanna talk about what sells better? look at how many albums hillsong sells compared to ANY metal band. Hillsong trumps their sales. Metal doesnt sell well buddy. and what is evil about this music? what is it? nothing. Jesus was brutally beaten and nailed to the cross. thats violent.

  • @SharkMako - I'm afraid you're "twisting my words". I didn't say Christ is corny. I'm saying to the metal scene, being too straight-forward with his message to people is considered so. If their metal is too worshipful, or if it's too clear that the music is about Jesus, people say it's "gay". So they keep the message vague and use language that appeals to the violent natured metal-heads. Think about what metal music was created to be in the first place.

  • @dogeymon83 i didnt twist your words. i just misunderstood what you said. and like i said, check out for today and august burns red's lyrics. for today in particular is extremely straight-forward in their lyrics. think about what rock was created to be in the first place. hillsong and all the other modern worship bands are rock. rock and roll was a metaphor for sex if you didnt know and look what it is today. Also, what is worship to you? what is your definition of worship?

  • @SharkMako - Ok, you misunderstood. I'm sorry. Same here. You're being more respectful than I gave you credit for. Yes, there are bands that are straight-forward with the message. But what about the behaviors that metal encourages. Lewd, trashy, dress and clothing, tattooing. Some "christian" punk girl bands and stuff look like complete whores. It's this disturbing blending together or opposite lifestyles together that's sometimes disturbing. Please tell me you at least understand.

  • @dogeymon83 i dont believe tattooing is bad, nor is dressing however you want. making people dress a certain way is stupid. metal doesnt encourage any sinful behavior. and about the punk girls thing, punk is TOTALLY different from metal. not the same genre at all but either way, music in and of itself, no matter the genre, is not bad. and if you are talking about Hayley Williams, she isnt a christian. she said so herself. so no i dont understand.

  • Exactly, i love God and i had Jesus's name tattooed on my wrist.

  • @SharkMako - Remember the scripture that says, "All things are permissible, but not all things are beneficial". I think kids should think about the things they wear, and the what they do to their bodies. I think it's smart to create a culture that teaches us not to abuse, mark up, and ruin our bodies, as they're temples of the holy spirit. The way we present our bodies to the world also sets an example. We are judged by our appearances, ya know.

  • @dogeymon83 The only judgement that matters is God's judgement. Quit having this debate over the comment board and send him a message please. Thank you.

  • @dogeymon83 i dont see at as abusing or ruining our bodies at all, i see it as a form of art. and I agree that we are judged by our appearances. Just a lot of people see Christians as stuck up pompous pricks like the pharisee's were.

  • @SharkMako - you can say anything is "art" to make it alright. People believe porn is art. Is treating our bodies as sacred temples "pompous"??

  • @dogeymon83 Except tattooing is literally art.. they are literally drawing on you.. and treating your body as a sacred temple is not pompous. have you ever eaten a cheeseburger? or a cookie? or meat that was still bloody? cause those things arent good for you and if you want to really treat your body as a temple, you should never eat a cheeseburger or anything like that again. and let me tell you right now, i clean my church and there is a lot of literal garbage in there that gets cleaned.

  • @SharkMako I agree with music in and of itself isn't bad. The MUSIC itself isn't bad, it's the LYRICS that can be bad. Even if it's a non-christian artist/band, they can have positive lyrics despite the genre.

  • @SharkMako

Bible tells you not to mark or pierce on your body. Just saying...

  • @Immersed4christ its cultural.. its like how it says that guys shouldnt have long hair or girls cant have short hair and must wear head coverings. unless you believe that girls should wear head coverings everywhere they go.

  • @SharkMako

Think of it this way, we are a Temple for the Holy Spirit, Tattoos and piercings is degrading your body. Most of these rules for the Jews, But Tattoos and piercings in my opinion or bit different.

  • @Immersed4christ dont paint your church then.. obviously thats degrading to make art on your temple.. and that new light fixture you were thinking about putting in, better not do that either.

  • @SharkMako

I respect what you believe, temple is your body not a literal object. Might wanna open a bible for once.

  • @Immersed4christ I open my bible everyday and read it. You said we should treat our body as a temple for the Holy Spirit which i agree with. You didnt understand what I said.

  • @SharkMako

Well then what are we fighting about lol we seem on same page.

  • @Immersed4christ cause you think tattoos and piercings are degrading to the temple, where as i think they are just decorations that can add to the beauty and uniqueness.

  • @SharkMako

ehh well i'm not sure about that, as for me i'm looking at the health of my skin. So ill stay clean. No harsh feelings man.

  • @Immersed4christ my skin is healthy

  • @SharkMako Agree. And if people would examine the "body is a temple" verse more carefully, they'd see that it is specifically adressing sexual immorality, not tats or piercings.

  • @SharkMako Sounds like a member of a legalistic church, eh?

  • @SharkMako I can't find anything about Hayley williams saying she isn't Christian. You have a source?

  • @SharkMako - If anyone asked me what I was doing in "a bar", is it kind of like asking, "What is Jesus doing in a brothel?"

  • @HeLLoMrXtReMe72993 I know I'm going to sound lie the Waterboy's Momma, but legalism is the DEVIL! (insert an Adam Sandler moment)

  • Dogeymon83 if you have a scriptural basis for your argument rather than just stating your opinion, I'd be happy to hear it. Here's what the Word of God says: "Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father." -Colossians 3:17

These guys are taking the message of Jesus to teens and young adults who don't want to listen to a preacher talk in a way that they will accept. People have gotten saved through this ministry; it's working

  • Consume Devour Repeat vid. just got topped over...just sayin.

  • good vid! good band

  • I Admire Christian Metal bands, because they are brave and determined to deliver God's Word and message through this music, i know of a lot of people who gave their lives to Jesus thanks to christian metal bands, and that is the purpose of being a christian, to help people accept Jesus Christ as their savior and Lord, I am a proud christian, and i only listen to christian metal and it's awesome :), God bless and Rock On!!!!

  • There's nothing brave about most of these bands. These lyrics are vague and mindless. No one will find christian messages in these lyrics without superficially imagining them in there. Believe me, I've listened to a lot. This is not about proselytizing. It's about impressing the metal music scene, blending in, making money, and being angrily defended by the fans.

  • Who are you to define this as hidious and evil-sounding...i seem to recall that evil masqurades as light...so this must sound like the light? Right

  • This is possibly the best band at mixing Metalcore and Extreme Metal... Their two albums are pretty decent... I love the cover of this new album... Its pretty metal...

  • Comment removed

  • @someweirdwigger - Why is this "the best way of doing it"?? Are you sure this is the "best way of doing it?" I've grown up with Zao, Training For Utopia, even later stuff like Demon Hunter, and we needn't kid ourselves any longer. The gospel is not just words. It's not just lyrics. When you take the gospel and dress it up in something hideous and evil-sounding, you are mocking the message. I just clicked their album trailer. Don't lie to yourself. That's disgusting. It's not christian.
