Bill Nye is an embarassment to the scientific community, and he is also a perfect example of why mainstream science refuses to touch this subject. For fear of being ridiculed and labeled a crackpot, and for fear of committing carreer suicide. Nobody wants to risk thier necks or their livelyhood discussing or seriously studying a phenomenon that carries with it such a bad social stigma. It really is a shame, and quite sad. IMHO, these closedminded people are the real crackpots.

I'd say everyone on the panel believes their thoughts to the same degree as their opponents. But something is not right with Shostek & Nye. They should be picking out china patterns together for table settings @ Macy's. Really weird how they just ignore France. too. Someone asked why?: because we can be very nationally biased & also want to get to the tech first. But points are being missed - this is so much larger that just issues between countries.
