  • HI Proffessor! awesome vid. Quick question: Why do we use shifting and how do we know when it's appropriate? (Aside from reaching the higher notes on the E string), I mean is there a big difference in sound? say when you choose to play E on the Gstring as opposed to playing on the first position on the D string.

  • You are super awesome Professor V. I love your channel..! Thank you sooooooooooooo much for all the video's. I've learned so much through them...!

  • Hi Prof. V.

Could you explain a new bow shift. I'm not sure if you have it on one of your videos but correct me if I am wrong. The shift arrival is made at the same time as the change of the bow ultimatley to make an inaudible shift. Could you explain? or maybe you have a video.Thank you your videos they are very helpful.

  • I am a 1st violin in Holmes Jr. High I think your videos can help beggining violinists very much. I am watching because my director wants me to help 5th graders and I'm not really sure how to explain it.

  • can you demonstrate or explain how to move your thumb up and down on a 3 octave arpeggio? I honestly don't know how to come down smoothly.
