This one's mostly metal. Only plastic parts are a cover over the forend, AR-15 pistol grip, and the cheekpiece. Rest is steel and aluminum. Some of my other rifles do have plastic stocks, though, but most of 'em have an aluminum bedding block in the stock. I certainly wouldn't mind getting a Steyr, though, but I'd rather have an SSG, preferably the 69 PIV, that'd be fun even without a suppressor.
Why you gotta deflate my flow with your integral knowledge of weaponry? Suddenly I feel as foolish as the guy from Cyprus Hill who once sang "Cock the Glock, just pull the hammer back!"
Whoops. At least you're not saying something that bad, though. But if you're playing CS, I think all the Steyrs in there are made of plastic, so you're safe. Especially the Steyr TMP, which the bolt is metal, but rides in a plastic receiver.
You should get a 50. cal snip, it lloked like a ACOG, dual magazine notice how the magazine was longer then usual thats what i call a duual magazine on the m16
This is a .50 caliber rifle. The "HS" in the name stands for "Heavy Sniper". Though, I really do like what Barret has done, and would love to have one of his M99 or M95 rifles.
Some ACOGs and Aimpoints are similar, but there's a few key features to look out for. Aimpoints usually have a ring or cantilever mount, while ACOGs usually have an integrated base or carry handle mount. ACOGs often have a light collector, Aimpoints often have the battery tube on the top right.
O wicked thanks for explaining thaat for me. Thats a sweet ass snipe loud though probally give your posistion away to charley pretty fast!lol guess it doesnt matter when your a mile away though. i like the barret 50. cal the r700 and the m40a3 for sniper rifles. i want then at i also want a p90 amd a g36c
I was lucky and found it used, and unfired, still in the original packing crate for $3,000. The Leupold ER/T scope was another $1,400. I purchased the ammo for about $3 a round, but it's gone up since then. All in all, it's certainly worth it.
w00t!!! I am glad I didn't shake the cam too bad when the concussion hit. Love how ya spliced um together! I think we should get one of the panda shooting it!
Yeah, I picked up some more rounds for it at the show, and the empties from this trip are about ready to be reloaded, just gotta get to Beikirchs and get some H-50.
Sweet!

Thanks. I might get a video shooting it again before I cut my hair, just for the laughs.

This Rifle looks really small/lightweight for a .50 cal. So it must have a lot of recoil im guessing.
mr0scary 2 years ago
It's about 30 pounds, but it has a very good muzzle brake on it. It kicks about as much as my M1A, but with less muzzle rise.

Oops, my mistake, there's a 6.5-25 is on my Remington 700, but it's a Konus. Kinda wanted to give them a try.
The Steyr sports an 8.5-25.

good stuff ^^

What kind of scope are you using?
phildaguy 3 years ago
It's a Leupold Mk4 6.5-20x50mm ER/T. The first focal plane is pretty nice, and it's a very clear piece of glass.

Nice! A little more kick than my AR-15. I like the shooting in the snow.
katmaiman 3 years ago
Surprisingly, not much more. It's quite modest. Most of it is just the muzzle blast coming back at you through that huge brake.

Shooting a .50 is quite the experience. Could only imagine a semi! Nice weapon you have there. Certainly more aesthetic than our Serbu!
kalipsocs 3 years ago
The Serbu .50s are nothing to be ashamed about. They certainly have their own aesthetic appeal.
As much as I'd like a semi, they're much more expensive, and I'm in no hurry to get these $5 rounds going down range any faster than this.
AreThereNoMoreNames 3 years ago
is the power not reduced by the semi anyway?
wheelface 3 years ago
The amount of gas bled off to cycle most semi-auto rifles is pretty insignificant. I wouldn't be concerned over it.
