You'll never be forgotten Lis. I met you when I was at an all time low- my parents had broken up, everyone was arguing, and when you smiled at me, I immediately felt better. Somehow, you could tell I was upset.
@SPLATgoesJaneAsher she was amazing! she always did have a talent for being able to tell if some one was upset or not feeling well. When i lived with her for 4yrs she new i was getting bullied at school, but she never ever mentioned it not untill the day when she came to my primary school. Boy ill never, ever forget that!! when i ran over to her cos useally it was Brian who would come and pick me up, she held me close and said to me whos bulling you? i told her and she delt with it!shes amazingx
My mum does catering for the doctor who previews and things, so i always tag along, and i met her seven or eight times... the last time was in december- she didn't look ill :O
@SPLATgoesJaneAsher i know right!!! it's like that wit me the last time I saw her was when some1 from the war ofice come to me skool and told us that my brother died. thee only reason they sent someone from the war office was cos he worked there as well. anyways, she was called away froom watever she was doin tht day to come to the skol. that was the 2nd reb. her bday.
@ElisabethSladen1946 Which meanns.... it was like two months before she died? Cor, I mean, she looked kind of off colour in December, but it was was december, and a lot of people get colds in december so i thought she had one or something. :/
@SPLATgoesJaneAsher thanks. she always did look young. she never looked old enough to be a grandma (if she was i dont know. Sadie doesnt tell me anything)
After 1979, drwho was like those live action kids shows that were on saturday mornings in America. And it looks like the bbc does a lot of that kind of bad programming, even today. It's just horrible. They way they try to sell it as "about relationships" is just creepy. drwho today is a show for the Vicky Pollards of the world. It's just creepy to co-opt a kids show to do gay activism and court popularity by doing a show for the lowest common denominator. We live in an era of fanwanks.
@ion010101 Maybe you should have save making this comment with Liz's death just a few hours ago. She was great in the old and new series. I also loved the spinoff show. I am really devastated by this news, her and Nick Courtney so close together, this is a terrible year for Doctor Who.
Bloody hell if Russel got hold of The famous Five we'd have Julian and Dick having gay sex behind the bushes and georgie fighting for lesbian rights and coming onto Anne who was probably a lesbian anyway she was that soft lol
Thanks for posting. Good to see what was said as I was working.
Wish they weren't always so worried about upsetting children (really meaning wimpy parents and unimaginative censors)... the best part of classic Doctor Who was the fear and terror. It should be pushed as far as it can in my opinion.
Agreed! As Elizabeth says, children can make monsters on their own computers unless the target age is four. A nine year old wonders how they can make water shoot out of their hand for Halloween! They are more frightened by situations than monsters. In the case of WOM my ten year old was worried that the Granddaughter might find her grandmother's body, since she commited suicide in her home. Visting grandma for Xmas and she's on the floor with a hole in her head. That's scary.
@PringlesJingles Oh look they go on and on about how scary Doc Who is its just a cliche and in 50 years of the show I was only seriously on the edge of my seat just once and that was for Blink, so i think people need to get over it, kids get scared in real life and movies and Tv is spose to reflect real life so they need to get over themselves. I only saw Sylvestor McCoys era as a child and the only two times I was scared then was the daleks and those cannibals in Paradise Towers

In remembrance of the recent deaths of some of our most favorite Doctor Who actors, professionals to the last...
R.I.P Brigadier Lethbridge Stewart (actor Nicolas Courtney -deceased early 2011 age 81)
Sarah Jane Smith (actress Elizabeth Sladen -deceased mid 2011 age 63)
The 4th Doctor (actor Tom Baker -deceased mid 2013 age 79)
We miss each of you dearly and remember you on TV like it was yesterday (for me, it was!)
Long live Dr. Who, we'll enjoy your presence for millennia past and yet to come.

The BBC news people could at least have done a little background research. Loved Elisabeth Sladen and Russell T Davis though.
