They do look similar - but a number 2 is a number 2, and using it does not equate to it being "nicked" from the BBC, it isnt the same '2'. This is in fact a modernised version of the logo they introduced more than 15 years ago, which then, had a line through it. It has seen a number of variations since then - this one simply has the line removed.
