That is so expensive! I can imagine this would be frustrating. This is why the NHS need to get involved - when regular Interventional Radiologists are doing this it won't be so expensive and who knows it may be covered under the NHS? Well that's what I think will happen in Australia when all is said and done. In the meantime people have to pay privately. But we are all grateful to those who pay to help build the evidence to support thorough trials. Be well. Kerri
Amanda Hi, Thanks , you are correct in saying we should be striving for permanent / effective procedures. If this trial leads us closer to that , that'll be good :-)
How frustrating! Seems like this is the story of so many people. At least with the trial there is a chance that some research will be done into more effective/permanent procedures. Pity you had to pay so much. Amanda
Rick Hi it is interesting that you say you are less heat intolerant because I think I am too. That is something positive for me to say about my procedure.
Has the angioplasty lasted?? That's difficult for me to say coz of my other problems but I am still not heat sensitive. Fatigue is still a huge problem for me resembling narcolespy ,lol. Fall asleep while cleaning teeth for eg. I sometimes wonder whether there may be other blocked spinal veins which are contributing to my spinal problems It's all a bit of a mystery I suppose :)
PS. I was having trouble posting this comment earlier for some reason.
I had good improvements Nick. Firstly, I was shocked to be able to move my toes & left foot a few days after the procedure. My circulation improved & my feet & hands felt warm & also a lot stronger. Heat intolerance disappeared also. However, the downside for me has been that the improvement in circulation has increased my back pain considerably. I really dont feel like I have MS anymore insofar as the symptoms are disguised by the back pain which also causes leg pain.
Howdeedodeee my friend. Sorry this has reared its ugly head again. Its unfair you've had to pay so much too. I had it done for nothing & feel very fortunate.
Dear Kerri,
I have had this procedure done and I am less temperature intolerant. I am glad I've had it done but I wish I'd gone somewhere else to have it done.
:-)
