Astrud...... it was a mistake.... the heart was trechurous... Stan was incomplete and Joao was negleting.... but that was a promise. Abusive men.... the spotlight... childhood trauma often lead one to connect with..... false.
You had it right. The simple things in life... housekeeping. caring for the kids, tending the garden, petting the cat..... and humming a song... brings Happiness. Yes, I know you... and if I was there in 1965... I would have made you a queen... happy.
So sensual... without trying to be. That voice is angelic and hypnotic. We took time from Hendrix, Otis and Sinatra to adore this captivating beauty. That is what it was like growing up in the 60's. Bravo Astrud... pure class...
Never trust your heart.... Getz with his serrealistic tones gets the mood of this song on key.
Amusingly, at the end of the previous track on the Getz-Gilbero #2 CD, Getz gives a big verbal intro to "Only Trust Your Heart" because one of the composers, Sammy Cahn, was in the audience. So Getz pays tribute to him and also says that Cahn wrote the song especially for Astrud. But when Getz finally says the name of the song, he calls it "NEVER Trust Your Heart". Astrud laughingly corrects him, and the audience laughs too. lol
Acabo de descubrir a Astrud Gilberto, preciosa, cantante por accidente, fanatica de los gatos, tiene como 10, quien fuera uno de esos gatos, seguro que les canta
Getz's band is the same as he had on "Getz au Go Go". It was the recently formed "Stan Getz Quartet", including Gary Burton. I agree with others that the version of this song on "Getz au Go Go" is better than this one on Getz-Gilberto #2. Astrud sounds about the same on both, but Getz is better in "au Go Go".

@hillarymary :) Don't take it to heart. Just making a flippant remark, rather uncouth I might add.

I agree. But then, on Getz Au Go Go, Stan had an excellent group with the legendary Gary Burton on vibes. Don't know who's performing here.

Hi Lethal, it's on Getz a Go Go and you can get it at Amazon and I'm sure from itunes etc.
Just listened to it again - still shivers after all these years!

What a shame. On the album this is the most beautiful sax solo I've ever heard. Here, he just throws it away.

@Coolwhitebear wud yu plz attach a link for dis classic version?

@Coolwhitebear yeah I agree that solo is just inspired, this one doesn;t really work, I guess that's the hazard of improv
