"Apologies, but what movie is this?" I was gonna ask, then I took a second look at Cillian Murphy's bio on IMDb, and figured I was just being stupid, or hung up in where I came from to get here: watch?v=29PjChtYa2M and thinking I had just discovered another rendition of a lovely Irish song. Meh, I didn't have to ask anyhow, so...
How 'bout this ludicrous weather we're having? Never was like this when I was a little pup. Then we had serious weather.
Wow, these comments are odd looking at it from an american stand point. cathbhar1 and salian66 both have good points. Ireland is still not in the best place and england does still have influence. The fact that is over looked is that Ireland and Britten have been fighting for almost a 1000 years. Does anyone really now why they should still be fighting? Yes the cruel treatment of Ireland and the hostilties toword england are recent. Sometimes people just need to move on and forget the past.
they are not irish! their families left ireland to start a new life, they are american if you are born there then thats your country ,my family come from ireland in the 1800,s i am british i was born here and thank god ive not been fed the shite of the brits did this, and the brits did that! if i traced my family back i could be eskimo ,the irish, british ,germans ,poles, russians every nation on earth have contributed to all our lives ,its all swings and roundabouts........
@salian66 I'm an American (half Irish too) and I agree with you. If you're born in America, you're American. Those countries across the sea will never be yours, whether you're black or white or any other color. The sooner other Americans figure this out and learn to stop labeling themselves as things they're not the sooner we can have less bullshit in this country.
@purplesquirrl i disagree my family are of irish decent and since the time we arrived have reveled in our heritage irish blood pumps in my veins my great great grand father kieran michael rutledge was driven from his home by famine in 1847 his dying wish on his death bed was to never forget where we came from or what we are IRISHMEN Éirinn go brách
@salian66 what kind of a fucking eejit are you?Its not ,you clearly lack any education.Britian read up on how the Irish saved your fucking sorry arses..as for the bellend shit something tells me you wouldnt say that to me face..Keyboard warrior
@salian66 The Irish saved Europe after the fall of Rome and reintroduced medicine and education,BBC have made a documentary on how the Irish saved Britian. The intellectual history of Ireland during the Middle Ages is quite well documented. So research it yourself it would take too long for me to explain and you wouldnt believe me anyway......
@cathbhar1 your still stuck in the middle ages, what did the romans ever do for us?roads, sewerage education,trade....ireland never going to solve itself ever its the peoples mindset hatred of each other through religious lines somthing britain got rid of centuries ago we advanced you have stopped.......
@salian66 In WW2 the US stepped in and tipped the balance of the war in favor of the Allies. The second largest ancestral group in America are the Irish, the first being the Germans. So Irish-American soldiers like Audie Murphy and Douglas MacArthur would likely comprise a very large portion of the US military at that time. That's one way the Irish have positively impacted your life.
seamus with the gun was wearing a british uniform the other night on t.v a captain in the kings army the dirty turncoat bastard ,i hope gingers mam do,snt find out.....
@DubhlinnI916 Because they are so free now, the english still have the north, they use as currency the fiat Euro no longer the Irish Pound, and were just forced by the EU to take a bailout. Who is really in control at the moment? Not the Irish people.
