First of all name sumone on the dolphins besides marino. This 49er team has multiple hall of famers. Marino isnt the reason the dolphins lost this game. Its cuz the dolphin d was terrible the dolphin offensive line cldnt block. Marino was on the field by himself. No one cld have beat the 49ers in this game facing that situation. Put Marino on the 49ers and Montana on the Dolphins and its still the same result. A 49er romp.

Dan Marino was one of the NFL's greatest quaterbacks, no doubt, but I think this game proves that he wasn't even in the same league as Joe Montana, at least, not this game.

You also need to remember that SF had a 15-1 reg. season record, their only loss a 20-17 game to Pittsburgh.
That West Coast system with Montana had already won SB XVI and almost won the NFC title game in 83 the year before.
Marino Offense had no running game and the Dolphins had 2 losses in Nov. where as SF hadn't lost but that one game since Oct.
