@MyCatChuck what are you on about. janick gers is a fantastic guitarist and he fills the space of rhythm guitars just fine. just because someone doesn't play solo's because the other 2 guitarists are, it doesn't mean that they are posers. janick only plays the solo's when he needs to and for the rest of the time he plays the chords and rhythm. but trust me he can play bloody well. just listen to the first album when he came 'fear of the dark'.

If Di'Anno had stayed, every Iron Maiden after Killers would probably have ended up having a remarkably inconsistent sound throughout as Di'Anno(he says it in his book) disagreed with the musical direction of Iron Maiden so he left.

Fact nr2: Dickinson is very good and strong in high note screams as the tenor he is.

And finally fact nr3: Halford never had strong voice. The high notes he reaches - or used to in the past - are pseudo high notes, fake - falceto and NOT actual strong, loud screams. All of these are non negotiatable regardless to who we like each one of us.

Yes, Halford could, he could reach just as high notes as Gillan. Halford has the strongest voice in metal along with Ronnie James Dio. Halford uses Headvoice most of the time, sometimes falsetto. Gillan always used falsetto. Dickinson has a very strong voice indeed, but not the same power as Dio or Halford. Gillan has just his screams, nothing more. Halford, Dio and Dickinson is much better singers than Gillan in general. Those are facts, I am a singer myself, I can tell the difference :P

well for me robert plant(eventhough he didnt hold it like gillan) was able to sing higher than gillan...i would prefer plant over gillan soul wise..for me the 5 best hard rock/ metal vocalists are robert plant,ian gillan, bruce dickinson,halford and dio...not in an order but these five are just on another level...the great thing about bruce is that he hasnt lost his voice like plant,gillan n halford...its still powerful and energetic..
