mac is so shit! i got one in september, and i have a shitload of problems with it, first of all the touchpad is not working, and 50% of the time my mac wont recharge Its also slow as fuck!

- My 2.8 GHz iMac on 10.6.6 Snow Leopard beat my new 3.2 GHz Dell on Windows 7 in a start up and shut down test. The Mac took 17 seconds to start up and 5 seconds to shut down. The Dell took 23 seconds to turn on and it took 20 seconds to shutdown!

@SuperFREEXBOXLIVECOD Final cut is an industry standard. Really there are loads of applications that run on OSX, and if I need a windows program to run I can either use bootcamp or a virtual machine. The best of both worlds. But I prefer OSX for the security and stability.

Spend a few hours researching what components I need CPU memory etc... fix it all together and hope I don't have any driver conflicts, with no warranty or customer support. I've done that before and sometimes it gave me headaches. On the other hand I can just buy an iMac and have peace of mind. No wonder Apple is selling more macs every year.
@SlightyDisturbedNBK there are warrantys, the research takes about 10 min. I have yet to have any driver conflicts because I'm not stupid. Google is my customer support because I'm not a hapless kid. It takes about 2 hours in all, unless you're a CEO of a major company making above 400 dollars an hour it's worth it. And apple isn't selling more macs a year, they've mainly been profitting from the iphone, the ipod and stuff of the like. Try not to make false statements you've done no research on.

Um, he's running OS10 on a mac G3. That's the same as trying to run windows 7 on a Pentium II with 256 RAM, so of course it's going to crash when opening programs. Very good public speaker though.
I love my macbook pro, I've had it for 3 years, and used it for extensively for video and music production. To this day I turn it on and I'm checking my emails within a minute maximum. No lagging... no hick ups... or very very few and far between. Just got a mac pro and I'm loving it. PC are good too... it's not about "which is best", it's about "which is best for you"... for your line of work, for what you're studying or using at work. For what I need a computer for, a PC is not for me.
I've actually had that model he destroys, and yes: it is utter shit. You can't do anything on that Mac without something getting fucked up in the process. I know their new Macbook Pros are way better but to think it's actually been like this is... Excruciating!
I hate my macbook. Conned into buying it in 2004 & yes any laptop would be getting old by now, however if u look at my laptop b4 my macbook it works better if u can put up with the ruined screen. Just bought a new video camera & none of their software works so I go to the apple store & say I need an upgrade to whatever leopard bs that will make my software work. Personally, I think the only thing a Mac is good for is art. IE. Photoshop, A large array of workable video editing software etc. Otherwise I just stick to PC. Sure you can get viruses and slow down your computer through random shit, but thats because you don't know how to take care of the damn thing. Plus, you can still find the same art software on the PC, but for some reason it always just works better for me on the Mac. I own both. Both are good. Neither are horrible. Like PC more, still.

I bought a Macbook, which was problably the stupidest thing I have ever done. The whole experience has been a nightmare. Even the simplest things become complicated and the OS is completely useless (and compatible with nothing). I had a powerpoint presentation, and when I tried to start it up it didn't work!!!! (even though I saved it as a fucking word powerpoint document). The customer service is by far the worst. I can only speak to a technician for 15 FUCKING MINUTES and it has to be schedule

I know how to use a computer properly. I was a lifelong windows user until Vista came out. To install a program on windows Vista or 7 you have to click allow or ok a million time. XP wasn't like that. That's why i use both leopard and XP. You can do things faster on a mac than with Vista or 7.
It's amazing and fast, and really the "allow or ok" is for safety, rather be safe than having my computer to crash 24/7 cuz of some spyware installing programs or viruses.
I have Windows 7 Ultimate and I know the the "cancel or allow" is for safety reasons but it still is annoying. My uncle has a brand new HP with Windows 7 Ultimate. He and I did a test on how long it takes to boot up and It took his computer around 2 minutes while mine took 37 seconds.
"Cancel or allow" (UAC) can be turned off. I turned it off on my machine on the first day. As for boot-up, HP is notorious for the crap they load on a new machine. Take the time to rip it all out -- you'll be glad you did.

I used to use a "top of the line" pc at my last graphic design job. I would work with the various Adobe® apps and I quickly discovered I couldn't have Illustrator open while running Photoshop and Indesign. It would crash the PC every time. So I got a mac and now I can literally have every layout app open and can jump between them flawlessly. For the designing and cinematography I do, Apple works best. I don't miss having to download and install drivers to make software work. Just plug and play.

i-FASCIST - I've used a mac, i own one, older model... but to me it's the "facebook" of computers, or in food terms a "big mac", simple, don't have to think about how to use the back-end, just click and go and your on-line and doing the kinda dumb stupid things they all want us to do... but I'm not an I-person, it's all branding and pomp and marketing and hyperbole and not for most, still, it's designed that way because most people don't need an IT headache.

After getting p'd off with the poor quality of all teh windows machines, espescially the poor customer support from Sony and Lenovo, i have just switched to Mac....what a mistake!!!!!!!!
Everything that used to take split seconds on teh PC now takes 10 times longer, everything about it is almost childish and gimmicky. I am switching back to PC, but with a nice looking machine!

Um, he's running OS10 on a mac G3. That's the same as trying to run windows 7 on a Pentium II with 256 RAM, so of course it's going to crash when opening programs. Very good public speaker though.

I love my macbook pro, I've had it for 3 years, and used it for extensively for video and music production. To this day I turn it on and I'm checking my emails within a minute maximum. No lagging... no hick ups... or very very few and far between. Just got a mac pro and I'm loving it. PC are good too... it's not about "which is best", it's about "which is best for you"... for your line of work, for what you're studying or using at work. For what I need a computer for, a PC is not for me.

I hate my macbook. Conned into buying it in 2004 & yes any laptop would be getting old by now, however if u look at my laptop b4 my macbook it works better if u can put up with the ruined screen. Just bought a new video camera & none of their software works so I go to the apple store & say I need an upgrade to whatever leopard bs that will make my software work. Turns out I have to spend over $200 doing that and my battery is dead so thats $300. All that to fix a piece of sh*t. New laptop time.

Personally, I think the only thing a Mac is good for is art. IE. Photoshop, A large array of workable video editing software etc. Otherwise I just stick to PC. Sure you can get viruses and slow down your computer through random shit, but thats because you don't know how to take care of the damn thing. Plus, you can still find the same art software on the PC, but for some reason it always just works better for me on the Mac. I own both. Both are good. Neither are horrible. Like PC more, still.

I bought a Macbook, which was problably the stupidest thing I have ever done. The whole experience has been a nightmare. Even the simplest things become complicated and the OS is completely useless (and compatible with nothing). I had a powerpoint presentation, and when I tried to start it up it didn't work!!!! (even though I saved it as a fucking word powerpoint document). The customer service is by far the worst. I can only speak to a technician for 15 FUCKING MINUTES and it has to be schedule

Hi I just used Mac for the first time today in college...I'm on it right now and this has to be the most frustrating and painful comp experience I've ever had!!! This is horrid I know understand what everyone means when they say Mac is for kids. Its like I'm using a comp made by playskool! I already hated Apple because of iPod which sucks! There is, even now, an ongoing battle to unlock the system to gain control over various aspects of every piece of hardware Apple makes. I also use Linux.

I know how to use a computer properly. I was a lifelong windows user until Vista came out. To install a program on windows Vista or 7 you have to click allow or ok a million time. XP wasn't like that. That's why i use both leopard and XP. You can do things faster on a mac than with Vista or 7.

I have Windows 7 Ultimate and I know the the "cancel or allow" is for safety reasons but it still is annoying. My uncle has a brand new HP with Windows 7 Ultimate. He and I did a test on how long it takes to boot up and It took his computer around 2 minutes while mine took 37 seconds.

"Cancel or allow" (UAC) can be turned off. I turned it off on my machine on the first day. As for boot-up, HP is notorious for the crap they load on a new machine. Take the time to rip it all out -- you'll be glad you did.

Also, Linux (fedora to be specific) is the birth of all software "innovations" with UI and such. Most features Apple totes were their, were stolen from Linux.
And finally. The 3 main operating systems suck. I was using Ubuntu 8.11 for my Linux Admin class (professor made us use it) and IT FUCKING LOCKED UP AND CRASHED DURING MY FUCKING EXAM. What a piss off. Windows is the only OS for me.

I used to use a "top of the line" pc at my last graphic design job. I would work with the various Adobe® apps and I quickly discovered I couldn't have Illustrator open while running Photoshop and Indesign. It would crash the PC every time. So I got a mac and now I can literally have every layout app open and can jump between them flawlessly. For the designing and cinematography I do, Apple works best. I don't miss having to download and install drivers to make software work. Just plug and play.
