  • interesting mix of g.band

  • I'm curious about Mission wolf sanctuary. Are you trying to domesticate these animals ? Or return them to the wild ?

  • how big is he?

  • Beautiful animal!!! Humanity owes wolves a lot. We owe it to them to return them to nature.

  • wolves are my life i'd do anything to help them i dont know what i would do if they wer not around anymore

  • That was great. A sheer delight!

  • ooooh he is so cute. if i where to live in the usa i woud adopt him. if i coud. but i live in sweden. i hope he is doing alrigth. keep the good work up.

  • How old do you have to be to join?

  • @DramingoTheWolf Hello! You can be any age to join Mission Wolf. For more info check the website Mission Wolf

  • He's gorgeous.

  • my moms friend rescued a wolf/dog he is black with silver ears belly and tail tip he is socialized i love him and we gave him a name which is buck

  • omg hes so beautiful do u re-home them?? i would be interested in him hav to ask mum first tho....,.

  • Hey look it's Jacob Black from Twilight.

  • I want that doggy!

  • I agree with SHvar that it is very unlikely this dog has direct wolf relations, but it is wonderfult that you care for this animal.

  • Amazing, when someone labels a dog a wolf or wolfdog its condemned to live its life at these rescues, or be killed. Thats a dog, I dont see any wolf characteristics at all.

  • @SHvar - and if someone labels a wolf as a dog the new home may be in for some surprises ;) Sorry but that's a wolfy right there.

  • @two3lights If there is any wolf genetics in that dog there is so little as to not leave any physical appearance. You see unlike those who are ignorant enough to fall for the labels and claims I know the last time wolves were available to the public in the US without a federal permit was when the fur farms in Canada closed in the 50s, during the 70s they became a protected species . After 5 generations of mixing with dogs there is no wolf genetics left. Do the math that was a long time ago.

  • @SHvar - True, but that is legally. There are still pups taken and sold not on the mainstream :/ Also some "wolf-dog" breeders were able to keep enough stock with strong blood for it not to be very diluted even at this point.

  • @two3lights Where are pups taken from? Come on stop believing the crap about dogs being staked out to breed with wolves, pups being taken from their dens and raised then sold blackmarket. The wolfdogs today have not had wolf mixed in their bloodlines in many generations, the people who breed them (some of them) breed wolfdogs to wolfdogs then breed the most wolfish puppies, after 5 generations of wolfdog to wolfdog or dog mixed in there is no more wolf genetics present than a poodle.

  • @two3lights After 5 generations of breeds being mixed the first breeds involved are no longer present, or barely present, after another generation the oldest breed is now completely gone in the mix. Common sense tells me that the wolves were bred into these mixes in the 1950s, so its now almost 6 decades gone past, for dogs commonly thats 20-30 generations of breeding, you know they werent inbreeding them all of this time, there is no wolf left. Dogs with a wolf ancestor and wolfish looks

  • @SHvar relax sheesh. I live in up north Wi. Some people have wolfs up here. Usually found by hunters. I'm not even talking about this specific mutt anymore. I'm just saying I know people who do have true wolfs and wolf dogs that bred with the farm or stable pooch is all.

  • @two3lights You actually believe those people when they tell you that? Wow, no wonder so many dogs are shot by hunters that are after coyotes and wolves.

  • @SHvar Believe who? Our family friends? oook, peace dude, I really couldn't care less. Glad your passionate about something at least.

  • @two3lights Your right, Im passionate about the truth being told, too many use their dog as an ego boost and call them wolves or wolfdogs when they arent. You see I dont fall for the claims because I know the truth.

  • @SHvar Well yea, I see what your saying, I really do. I know the 2 people that I knew that had a wolf or wolf mutt locked in a kennel/run way up north were not the vast majority of people out there who have "so called hybrids". Looking at the big picture I get it. Like if you killed my ferret for fur because it's nearly almost a mink but totally not at all. Yea I prolly don't make sense. I have a lab, a Pyrenees/boxer and a unidentifiable mutt so I make no claims as an expert on these things.

  • @two3lights These people miss the point, they should be proud of having a beautiful dog that wants to be a part of their life, anything wolf does not want a human in their pack, they see a humans as a supplier of food and something to be nervous of, and respect or fear.

  • @SHvar Nothing about that dog says wolf, everything about its appearance says northern breed dog. The chest is wrong, the legs are wrong, the eyes, ears, head shape, feet, tail, body build, all say dog. By looking around this website 99% of people here wouldnt know a wolf from a German shepard, a husky, a malamute, or a border collie mixbreed.

When you have northern breed dogs you see the obvious differences, and the wild natural dog behaviors that get them labeled as wolf/wolfdogs.

  • this is a dog or a wolf?

  • that is one big puppy

  • And THAT's how it's done folks =)

I appreciate you sharing this. It could come in handy.

  • How much does he weigh.

Hes about the same colours as my Siberian Husky

  • very beautiful

  • Sorry but you all are ignorant because that is a coyote, and they need to shoot and kill that coyote because that is a dangerous animal .

  • I want him! I truly want to adopt him!!! He is so beautifully adorable and just oh words cannot describe him!!! Your work is magnificent! Seriously, if you ever entertain adoption requests, please let me know!!!!

  • Wow, i just went to Mission:Wolf for the 2nd time yesterday and once again had an amazing experience going in with Maggie, Illy, and Abe

  • OMG!!! HES FREAKING HUGE and a very beautiful animal to have you guys encountered any bigger wolves?

  • Thanks for sharing, wow must be a great feeling...keep up the good work..PEACE...

  • what a beautiful wolf-dog! and really big too. Hes like the most beautiful wolf-dog ive ever seen! how socialized is he now? and im saving up money to give to an animal sanctuary and i think ill give it to this one. cause this is a goos sanctuary.

  • Luke is the same color as my dog dut little dit.

  • I wan to feed a wolf!Love them!

  • I want a pet wolf! but they wouldnt be good to have as a pet.

  • I love your videos. So awesome!

  • he look wolf mother mix with Husky dog seem that I think..Husky always bark howling but wolf never bark at all. my dog is wolf mix cross and he never bark at all just howling whole time.

  • Hope you guys take donations. Because I've been saving a $1,000 dollars to give to any wildlife organization I think is worth it. If so, return this comment and I'll periodically check it. I was saved by a wolf-dog once, so I feel that it's important to preserve wolves before they disapear from the wold we call home.

  • @Proudwolf99 We would be interested in hearing of your experience. Our mailing address is mission wolf po. box 1211 WestCliffe, Co. 81252. Thank You Sincerely for your offer. Your friends at MW

  • @Proudwolf99

Is there a organization to donate money to wildlife. Cuz i want to donate money to wild life. Poor animals.

  • Must be such a rewarding job working with Luke! Good luck with his training!

  • What a gorgeous animal! Love him!

  • He is such a beautiful wolf, I wish I could see a live wolf in person.

  • So cute. i've always loved wolves! their faces are so cute and their howl and beautiful!

  • i love wolves there just amazing when there mad, calm, sad, happy

  • Wow! He's huge! But why are the Wolve's being hunted? They're such peaceful creatures of nature.

  • I LOVE WOLVES!!!!!!

  • wolves have got to be the most beautiful animals on earth...

  • wat would a coyote-lab mix behave like???

  • @GundamDeathScythe11 Good Question? Let us know if you find out..

  • @GundamDeathScythe11 - We have a Coyote/Foxhound X. (Confirmed through DNA testing). When we rescued her, I immediately knew she was a coy-dog. Unless someone is very experienced AND has the resources needed to care for a coy-dog, or wolf-dog, stay away from them. I've got way too many sad stories w/horrible outcomes because of improper handling. Our girl is now 15 yrs old, and as much as we love her, it has been no picnic. Headstrong, wary, aggressive, challenging us at every turn.......

  • good lord are they all that big?

  • sorry about the username. its my sisters. mine messed up. Anuke is my wolf-dog and hes HUGE because hes mostly wolf. me and my dad live around wolves and elk. Anuke and i are best freinds and we patrol our land to keep hunters out. Anuke is always shy and growls when he meets new people. we found him in a wolf trap on our farm and took him in. i love that BIG fur ball.

  • wow, what a beautiful animal! how socialized is he now?

  • @LadyAnura He has gotten a lot better, if you check the missionwolfsanctuary channel you can see a couple updates. Thanks

  • He has the conformation of an Akita as well as Akita ears. Notice he is very straight in the stifle; wolves tend to have much more rear angulation. Beautiful animal, beautifully done!

  • oh my goodness that's amazing. How he quickly went from food to intreast and how quickly he took food from the camera man. What you are doing is wonderful and I shall aplode you

  • Hes a husky/wolf mix I have a husky thats the same color they`re similar .

  • definitely part Akita

  • holy crap he's HUGE!I'd love to be able to interact with a wolf!

  • Beautiful,...I love nature

  • i love wolces as much as the next person but don't you think domesticating a wolf is a bad idea if you plan to release him out back into the wild?

  • @Darkspell19 hes not an actuall wolf hes a wolf dog. People are allowd to have them as pets with a certain licence. But you also need a grip of land and you have to give them constant attention. They can still be dangerouse like a wolf. And yes he is a beautiful animal i agree with you all i love his furr color.

  • @lunerlilly

Wolf Dog crosses are in a way more dangerous than wolves, wolves shy away from people and wolf dog crosses do not.

  • lol its a dog mixed with a wolf. what would happen if you just added steriroids to the wolf?? HAHA Jk

  • @prancercat1 Probably wolf malamute, thats our guess..

  • Ok if that is a wolf/dog I'd love to see how big he would be if it was wolf/wolf :)

  • oh man that is a HUGE boy:)

  • Lol my char is named Luke..that's a MASSIVE dog../wolf

  • Is he a dog-wolf mix? He's HUGE!

  • Yes good eye! He is a wolf dog mix.

  • Not really considering it said this at the bottom of the screen:

"Luke" a 130lb. Wolf Dog Cross.

You don't need to be knowledgable on dogs to be able to read that.

  • @missionwolfsanctuary what dog breed mix is he? like a wolf-golden retriever, wolf-alsation etc?

  • @xissburg

its nto a dog its a wolf stupid!

Even though wolves are in the dog family they have a diffrent personality then dogs.

  • Im very fond of animals and find it easy to commune with them, so im glad people can do the same. P.S. The background music is annoying.

  • Oh my GOD, Luke is BEAUTIFUL!!!!

  • how old do u have to be to join

  • looks like you guys do some good work with them, ive delt with dogs , horse and wildlife before and once that trust is gone and their scared its very very hard to fix it, espeically with wild animals, i like it

  • Wow! Fantastic!!

  • WOW HUGE DOG

  • Woah, cool. Can I join you guys sometime?!

  • Sure you can, you have to visit first though!

  • what a beautiful animal!

  • Its half grey wolf and akita. what a cute thing!

  • We are not sure what kind of mix he is, you could be right on!

  • man, he is beautiful and BIG!

  • He's gorgeous. Very handsome. ^^

So are wolf-dogs legal to have as pets?

I've seen on the net and tv some people who own them, and I was always curious if they were allowed to be owned.

  • Each state is different, most do not allow them as pets, then you have to check city laws, each city has a law different than the next. I know it is legal in L.A.. Regardless it takes a lot to own this kind of animal. They can be a tough keep. We dont recommend them- as many people have a challenge with domestic dogs.

  • my brother had a half wolf for a long time near Canton, Ohio, so I am sure they are legal there. It intimidated me, so I would never try to touch him. Occasionally he would get loose and the police would call them to come get their dog. He looked very wolf. He was good in their family, but since I only visited a few times a year, I was only tolerated.

  • <3 <3 <3 !!!! thats soooooo cooleo!

  • Great video I visited you guys over the summer and met merlin I heard he pasted away, is that true? hope fully i can volunteer over the summer im moving up there next weekend

  • Yes unfortunatly Merlin did pass last summer. Old man lost his howl in his twlight age. Well we shall see you this summer!!!

  • WOW! Luke is freaking huge!!! Holy cow, he's so beautiful! It's amazing what you guys are doing. :} Do you know what he's mixed with? I'm guessing he's mostly wolf due to his size and behavior, but he kind of looks like he's mixed with an Alaskan Malamute or a Husky, maybe even with something else.

  • Thanks for the fun comments! I think you are right when you say Alaskan Malamute, that is what we have all been guessing!!

  • that looks like so much fun ^.^ I'd love to do that some time ^.^ aww luke's a cutie ^.^

keep doing what you do ~.^

  • Very beautiful! keep up your great work.

  • Would a wolf dog hybrid be anything close to his size?

  • Yes --Hybrid is a name some people call wolf dog crosses.

  • one day i long to come help you guys and the brilliant work you do.

Luke is a stunning powerfull lad.thanks for sharing.

  • Thank You! We are run on volunteers so we will see you when you can make it!!

  • New Subber luke is a wonderful wolf dog they are great family dogs

  • @VicGord Actually Luke would not be a good family pet. That is how Mission:Wolf was founded because of the reality that wolf dogs are not good family animals or pets for that matter.

  • My dog snowball looks like a wolf but she is a pure bred American Eskimo Dog. Lots of pure Bred dogs can look like wolves half the time but they are not. And you are right about wolf dogs not being very good pets. Snowball can be very shy but she isn't much anymore, just around new people. But she will growl at them alot. Most likley it's becuase she is protecting her family and loved ones. =P

  • @Whitewolfz100 Thanks for the great comments! Sounds like you have found the dream! A dog breed that looks like a wolf but is a domestic dog breed! And a breed seasoned with the spice of behavior like the wolf as you said with the "shyness" It can be difficult enough to care for these kinds of dogs let alone wolves.......Anyway you know what I mean!!! Thanks Again!!!

  • Wolfdogs really aren't the best pets. I used to have one, it was rescued from some criminal's house. It takes a lot to care for them but we somehow managed to keep it alive. I loved it like a brother but I wouldn't get another one.

  • Ohhhh! ^.^ Luke reminds me of Seth! hehehe :D he's sooooo cute! I pet a real wolf once and it was very gentle, but yes I don't think they should be pets =[ wouldn't work out with guests over...

  • can i have a wolf PPLLEEAASSEE!!

  • i saw a wolf dog at a fair the owner said it was 94% wolf and it was really shy and skiddish around humans but it was so cute

    and this wolf is adorable

i really wanna wolf for a pet lol

  • Wolf Dogs are really not good pets, you even saw the wolf dog was shy and skiddish. That animal would choose not to be there if it were up to it. Luke is not or ever will be a pet. We are working to make him feel at home and comfortabe. Not trying to make a pet out of him.

  • @missionwolfsanctuary is the wolf in a pack because it doesn't look like it was train to hunt or do wolf stuff

  • @423goku The wolf dog Luke is living at the Mission:Wolf sanctuary where he is cared for by people. He is not trained to hunt or do wild wolf behaviors. And he will never be released in to the wild.. Hope that answers your question!

  • Comment removed

  • Luke, I am your father!

  • Man what I wouldn't give to work with Wolves ^^;

  • Luke is so beautiful and he don't like that camera, lol

  • Wow!! fantastic!

  • beautiful...absolutely beautiful.

  • No matter how much Michael Vick offers you for Luke...Please say no!!!

  • Too beautiful for words!

  • Oh but I absolutely love this video! :)

  • Why can't anyone spell the word "losing?"

  • it wont be hunting. it is a wolf dog.. not fully wolf.

  • I dont understand. you are teaching this animal to be rewarded when touched by humans? is that your goal? because to me, that would be crippling the animal. how is he supposed to learn how to hunt in the wild if he used to being pampered and pet all day long? I dont mean to be mean, just curious.

  • wait.. if that wolf is so big.. imagine the Dire wolves back from the Ice Age era.. apparently they were twice the size of wolves that coexist with us currently.. jesus christ.

  • Wolves, dogs, foxes, "coyotes"...

    All cannis are perfect!

  • Wolves are beautiful magestic and Great animals! Love what u guys do!! Kepp up the awesome work!

  • strange fur coloring never seen it, but that wolf/dg was HUGE id be like oh shit if i was that camera man

  • Thats a beautiful wolf/dog!

  • Oh how sweet! I'd like to take him home.I

have had a few experiences with some wolves while in Colorado "I wanted to take them all home."

  • IT IS NOT A DOG IT IS A WOLF!!!!!! DUH

  • Such a COOL looking dog

  • wow he is a big boy! good job handling him!

  • I didn't know wolves had that color of coating.... or could be that big!

  • that dog is HUGE!

  • i would love to touch a wolf but im scared it would bite and holy FUck!!! (THAT IS A BIG ASS WOLF) but itz beatiful

  • HOOLLYYY FUCk this is some hugggeee wolf ;O

  • That dog is gorgeous!

  • Thx for posting, i like Luke. Now i'll go with my wolf-dog for several hours to the woods.

    Much greetings from Germany

    a kiss to Luke

  • @ScienceArtSpirit Thank You for the kind comments, may you be well and enjoy the woods and your animal!!

  • please take a shower i can smell each of you from here

  • @1CravenMorehead I think if you can smell us from there, that your smelling yourself! All I smell is fresh air and pine trees!

  • oh in that case, that sucks

  • very cool

  • you guys look like hobos

  • @jeffreyZZZ

FUNNY!!! Thanks for sharing, there is no reason to dress up in good clothes when your daily job is hauling fence, digging up ground mesh or cutting up a 100 cow to feed 30 plus wolves.

Last week I just happened by the butchering scene and got blood sprayed on my new Louis Vuitton, I was Mortified!

  • @missionwolfsanctuary,

god bless louis vuitton the best producer of outdoor equipment. Jon Krakauer wear it on the top of Chomulungma! Best backpackers i´ve ever seen. So stylish, ... When i look at you guys, i think your coiffeur is Patrick Cameron!? - lmao -

    Good answere - mws -

  • @jeffreyZZZ 1000 pound Cow!

  • ... don´t call me ole dog ... bebe! ;-)

  • @jekellhyde

    Good Point!!!!

  • Food is Very powerful. I once had 5min to decide if I wanted a hound. He had a fear of men and wouldn't come near me. I grabbed pretzels off the breeders kitchen table, and held one in my hand but he wasn't going for it. Put a piece down and backed up and he came and got it. Did that 3 more times and then sat with one in my hand. He came over, took it and ate it there. I gave him a hug and took him, and we were buds for the 12 more yrs he lived. Getting a dog over fears makes you a Best friend.

  • Great comment, Thank You For Sharing!

  • I have more stories curing fears in hounds, from super sound sensitive ones who literally became Bomb proof and I thought they went deaf. Letting them see You make the sound.

I felt SO bad for a junk yard dog who wouldn't come eat the chicken breasts being fed to others because I was there. I took one squatted down and offered. The owner said it was a waste of time. Soon the dog came closer and ate from my hand. My young nephews taught me that getting down to their level wasn't intimidating.

  • Please dont think these wounderful wild animals would not take your face off for any known reason....... They are wild.. ...

Good luck.... We hope your wildlife study goes very well.... God Bless

  • Thank You For your comment, There is a risk in every second we exsist in life, thats the truth.

  • whoa that looked like kiba from wolfs rain!

  • That is adorable! Definitely a mix since he barks. Beautiful. Thank you for the work you do. Wolves are amazing creatures so misunderstood. We can all take a lesson from their behavior/natural instincts! They are all about love, respect, order, trust, and family! God bless you for the work you are doing!

  • He is so beautiful and gentle! Amazing for this wolf with little to no social skills around people. Keep it up, you people!

  • i love wolves so friggen much it's unbelivable hahahahahhaha but anyways Luke is gorgeous his colors are the same as jacob's from "New Moon"!

  • their fucking beautiful animals

  • Wolves are so amazing, i wish i had one.

  • He is beautiful. Such an beautiful color! It's like forest leaves or soft, muted rust in sunlight.

  • i love wolves and this one is big.

  • wolves are amazing-this one's big!

  • i love wolves-they are my favorite animal

  • great video thanks for posting:)
